Todd Bradley

Todd F. J. Bradley, 29, a longtime Villa Park resident, died Sunday, Aug. 2, in Charleston, Ill.
A memorial services was held Tuesday, Aug. 11, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lombard. Interment was private.
Mr. Bradley is survived by his mother, Nancy Dahmer; father, Dennis Bradley; siblings, Cindy, Samantha, Jenelle, Debbie, Paul and James; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Angel.
Mr. Bradley was a 1999 graduate of Willowbrook High School and was employed at Major Prime Plastics in Villa Park.
Arrangements were made by Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.

Aquilino Faunlagui

Aquilino R. Faunlagui, 85, of Villa Park died Saturday, Aug. 8, in Elmhurst.
Funeral services are being held today, Aug. 12, with prayers from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at Ascension of Our Lord Church, with the Rev. Damien Graziano officiating. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Faunlagui is survived by his daughter, Adele (Fernando) Barachina; one granddaughter; sister, Elenita Tan; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jovita; and siblings, Estebania Salgado and Leopoldo Faunlagui.
Mr. Faunlagui had worked as a postal carrier and was a member of American Legion Post #509 in Chicago.

Billie Jo Greene

Billie Jo Greene, nee Barr, 62, of Lombard, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, in Lombard.
Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 13, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 14, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Greene is survived by her husband, Richard “Slick”; children, Debbie (Joe) Haim, Samantha (Dustin) Theodorou and Christopher of Lombard; six granddaughters; and siblings, Juanita Mroz, Louise Church, Peggy Joseph and Mac (Vivian) Barr.
Mrs. Greene had been a resident of Lombard for 40 years. She and her husband started their business, Slick and B.J.’s, 25 years ago in their home, and moved into the store at Park Avenue 22 years ago. She loved motorcycles, casinos and traveling.

Francis Kohout

Francis D. Kohout, 76, of Lombard, died Sunday, Aug. 9, at Elmbrook Nursing Home in Elmhurst.
Visitation will be today, Aug. 12, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 13, with prayers from the funeral home to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment is private at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Kohout is survived by his wife, Constance M.; children, Barbara (Ronald) Hammond and Francis J. (Nancy); five grandchildren; siblings, Joan Dybas and John (Ethel) Kohout; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Gene Kohout and Louise Candeland.
Mr. Kohout wa a graduate of DePaul University in Chicago with a degree in music. He was a former high school teacher of music and music director at Immaculate Conception High School in Elmhurst and St. Joseph High School in Westchester. He had retired as a buyer for Sears, Roebuck & Co., where he worked from 1963-80. He loved his music and played violin, clarinet and piano. He enjoyed theater and wrote plays and classical music.

Mark Koz


Mark A. Koz, 48, of Lombard, died Friday, Aug. 7, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Funeral services are being held today, Aug. 12, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment is private.
Mr. Koz is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, Anthony and Brian; parents, Raymond and Sara Koz; siblings, Marie (Carl) Schnock, Rich (Inge), Mike (Debbie) and John; in-laws, Thomas and Shirley Sheu; aunt, Reg Sheu; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Nancy (Bob) Rapka, Sue (Dave) McDonald, Joe Banass, Steve (Linda) Banass, Dave Banass and John Nason; and many nieces, nephews and best friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Holly Koz and Fran Nason.
Mr. Koz loved old cars and computers and was know as the “go-to” guy for anything because he was very handy. He especially loved spending his free time with his sons. He was known as a very devoted son and also loved his dog, Missy.

Sonja McKee

Sonja S. McKee, nee Magnidoff, 75, of Lombard, died Thursday, Aug. 6, at Manor Care Health Care in Naperville.
A visitation was held Sunday, Aug. 9, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was Monday, Aug. 10, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Mrs. McKee is survived by her children, Tanja Grills, Carla (Brian Sr.) Page, David (Carrie) and Raymond (Beth); 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brother, Kurt Magnidoff. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W.
Mrs. McKee was born in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, and was a resident of Lombard since 1963.

Diana Palma

Diana M. Palma, nee Portillo, 45, of Villa Park, died Friday, Aug. 7, in Downers Grove.
Funeral services are being held today, Aug. 12, at Oak Brook Community Church, with the Rev. Paul Glyman officiating. Interment is at Oakridge Glen Oaks Cemetery.
Mrs. Palma is survived by her husband, José; daughters, Nora and Anna; siblings, Gladys (Otto) Rodriguez, Nora (Victor) Landeros and Mario Jr. (Johanna); half-siblings, Roger, Mario R. and Frances; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Palma was a homemaker.

John Polcyn

John J. Polcyn, 87, of Lombard, formerly of Chicago, died Sunday, Aug. 9, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Visitation is today, Aug. 12, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 13, with prayers from the funeral home to Mass at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment is private.
Mr. Polcyn is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Rosemary (Renzo) Mori and Carol Ann Walker; five grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; sister, Dorothy Wodnicki; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Robert Walker; siblings, Raymond, Eugene, Leonard, Lottie, Edward and Frances; and brother-in-law, John Wodnicki.
Mr. Polcyn was a resident of Lombard for 24 years.

Lawrence Stawarski

Lawrence D. Stawarski, 56, of Bellwood, died Friday, Aug. 7, at Aspire on Eastern in Bellwood.
A memorial Mass will be held Thursday, Aug. 13, at Divine Infant Jesus Parish in Westchester. Inurnment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Stawarski is survived by his mother, Louise, of Lombard; sister, Linda (Duncan) Gillies of Lombard; and a nephew and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank.
Mr. Stawarski was a resident of Aspire on Eastern since he was 29 years old.

Ruby Sydnor

Ruby L. Sydnor, 80, of Villa Park, died Sunday, Aug. 9.
Visitation is today, Aug. 12, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 13, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sydnor is survived by her children, Dale (Carol) and Vicky (Peter Perry) Halsall; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; and siblings, Herbert, Dollie, William Richard and Charles Wenrick Mathews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.

Robert Wagner

Robert Fred Wagner, 75, of Fort Atkinson, Wis., died Wednesday, Aug. 5, in Fort Atkinson.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 10, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson, with the Rev. Jay Poster officiating. Burial was at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Fort Atkinson.
Mr. Wagner is survived by his wife of 51 years, Edna; children, Cindy (Mickey Willard) Wagner, Tina (Don) Phillippe and Michael (Ericka); five grandchildren; siblings, Norman (Mary) Wagner and Nancy (Michael) Udow; and sister-in-law, Margie Wagner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary Wagner; and brother, Dick Wagner.
Mr. Wagner was born in Oak Park and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he was a member of the Kappa Delta Rho fraternity. He worked as a research engineer for the Sealy Mattress Co., was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson, Moose Club Lodge #197, Lombard Post #391 of the American Legion and the Fort Atkinson Rotary Club. He loved traveling in the RV, golfing, fishing, woodworking and the Cubs.
Memorials to the University of Wisconsin Paul P. Carbone Cancer Center, or HospiceCare Inc., would be appreciated.

Vicki Williamsen

Vicki Lynn Ghilardi Williamsen, 62, of Wheaton, formerly of Lombard, died Monday, Aug. 3, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Aug. 8, at First Church of Lombard in Lombard. Interment was private. Mrs. Williamsen is survived by her son, Lance; mother, Alice Ghilardi; and siblings, David (Rose) Ghilardi, Debbi (John) Bloom, Nancy (Jeff) Taylor and Jill (Glenn) Bridgewater. She was preceded in death by her father, Victor Ghilardi.
Ms. Williamsen was born in Chicago and grew up in Chicago and Lombard, where she was a 1965 graduate of Glenbard East High School. She had worked as a dental assistant and enjoyed doing needlepoint.
