Patricia Brown

Patricia Brown, nee Michelic, 63, of Villa Park, died Monday, Aug. 17, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 20, at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 350 S. Princeton, Villa Park.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 21, from the funeral home to Mass at St. Pius X Church in Lombard. Interment is private.

Billie Jo Greene


Billie Jo Greene, nee Barr, 62, of Lombard, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 14, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Greene is survived by her husband, Richard “Slick”; children, Debbie (Joe) Haim, Samantha (Dustin) Theodorou and Christopher of Lombard; six granddaughters; and siblings, Juanita Mroz, Louise Church, Peggy Joseph and Mac (Vivian) Barr.
Mrs. Greene had been a resident of Lombard for 40 years. She and her husband started their business, Slick and B.J.’s, 25 years ago in their home, and moved into the store at Park Avenue 22 years ago. She loved motorcycles, casinos and traveling.

Arne Johansen


Arne K. Johansen, 84, of Lombard, died Friday, Aug. 14.
Visitation is Thursday, Aug. 20, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 21, at the funeral home. Interment is at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mr. Johansen is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children Linda (Steve) Scholz, Chris and Janet (Robert) Wenkus; six grandchildren; and sister, Mary Buen.

Florence Johnson


Florence M. Johnson, nee Bock, 95, of Lombard, died Thursday, Aug. 13, at Lexington Healthcare Center in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her son, Robert A.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W.; and son, Richard J.
Mrs. Johnson was a very devoted member of the Lombard Bible Church and enjoyed cooking, painting by number and knitting.

E. Regina Kusell


E. Regina Kusell, 85, died Monday, Aug. 10.
Mrs. Kusell is survived by her son, Curtis E. (Rhonda) Murff; two granddaughters; and siblings, Jack Hudon and Louise Carver. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis W. Murff; and second husband, Harold O. (Buddy) Kusell.
Mrs. Kusell was born in Fairmount, W.V., and had been a resident of Mokena, Ill., living with her son and family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Cancer Support Center, 19250 Everett Lane, Mokena, IL 60448, would be appreciated.
Arrangements were made by Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 S. Princeton, Villa Park.

Mary Lou Michiels


Mary Lou Michiels, nee Grzenia, 73, of Lombard, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 15, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Michiels is survived by her husband, Pierre G., whom she married in 1954; children, Chris (Paul Grossmann) Michiels, Steve (Cindy), Kenny (Carol Getman) of Lombard, Ray and Glen (Tanya); seven grandchildren; sister, Alberta (Joseph) Vernola; and sister-in-law, Ruth Grzenia. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Grzenia.
Mrs. Michiels was a resident of Lombard since 1961. She was a graduate of Taft High School and had worked for Carson Pirie & Scott Co. in Lombard and retired in the 1990s. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary at Central DuPage Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 769, Hillside, IL 60162, would be appreciated.

Theresa Reeves


Theresa “Teri” Reeves, nee Chaples, 45, of Lombard, died Saturday, Aug. 15, in Lombard.
Visitation will be today, Aug. 19, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 20, at the funeral home. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Reeves is survived by her husband, George D.; children, Jeffrey Bernard of Lombard, Jeanelle and Michelle of Lombard; parents, Richard L. and Dolores Ann Chaples; and siblings, Rik Chaples and Dawn (Michael) Milazzo. She was preceded in death by her son, John P. Reeves; and brother, Jeff Chaples.
Mrs. Reeves had attended Willowbrook High School, was the shift manager at Panera Bread in Oak Brook and had worked at White Hen on Main Street in Lombard and for Westmore Liquors. She had been a cheerleading coach and team mom for the Lombard Falcons.

Roger Sinacore


Roger J. Sinacore, 79, of Lombard, died Sunday, Aug. 16, in Lombard.
Funeral services are being held today, Aug. 19, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Church in Lombard. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Sinacore is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children, Debra (Robert) Robertson and Samuel; five grandchildren; and brother, William (Sally) Sinacore.
Mr. Sinacore was a resident of Lombard since 1959. He was a 1947 graduate of Austin High School and had attended Elmhurst College. He retired from Commonwealth Edison in 1989, where he worked for 40 years, lastly as an assistant area manager. He was a member of the Engineers Club at Commonwealth Edison.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society, 1801 S. Meyers Road, Suite 100, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181, would be appreciated.

Gay Starrak


Gay Agnes Starrak, of Lombard, died Monday, Aug. 10.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 21, at St. Matthew United Church of Christ in Wheaton.
Mrs. Starrak is survived by her children, Michael (Toni) Weresch, William (Cindy) Weresch and Dr. Joseph Weresch; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. James Abel and Hazel Hudson Starrak.
Ms. Starrak was a resident of Chicago for eight years, Lombard for 40 years, Winfield for 16 years and Ames, Iowa, for 22 years. She was a 1935 graduate of Ames High School and a 1939 graduate of Iowa State University, with a B.S. degree in Foods and Nutrition. She had worked for the Chicago Daily News in 1939 as a foods editor; was the author of a weekly newspaper column called “Calling all Cooks” for nine years; served on the National Livestock and Meat Board for 23 years, where she wrote and directed a 15-minute daily radio program, served as associate director of home economics and was director of consumer services; and for five years had a nationally distributed weekly food column called “Two at the Table.”
Ms. Starrak was a member of American Women in Radio and Television, the International Microwave Power Institute (Cooking Division), Women in Communications Inc., the American Home Economics Association, Home Economists in Business and the American Meat Science Association. Other memberships included St. Matthew United Church of Christ, Gamma Phi Beta sorority–Omega chapter, the American Association of University Women, Women’s Department Club of Wheaton and Metropolitan Family Services. She enjoyed writing, traveling, playing bridge and volunteering with the DuPage Convalescent Center and Central DuPage Hospital.
