Lillian Allen


Lillian C. Allen, nee Farrell, 93, of Beacon Hill, Lombard, died Wednesday, Dec. 16.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 21, at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 S. Princeton, Villa Park. Interment was at Fairmont Willow Hills in Willow Springs.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her daughters, Ruth (Richard) Peltier and Patricia (Harold) Jensen; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Devine; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph I., children, Joann Weiss, Carrie and John; and siblings, Arthur, Willard, Muriel Waughan, Betty Nichols, Helen Lopez, Grace Schmidt and John “Bud.”
Mrs. Allen had been a resident of Beacon Hill for 24 years. She had attended Lombard Bible Church and Harvard Avenue Bible Church in Villa Park. She had attended evening school at Moody Bible Institute, where she met her husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Moody Bible Institute or Harbor Lights Hospice would be appreciated.

Norbert O’Neill


Norbert W. O’Neill, 94, of Lombard, died Sunday, Dec. 20, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services are being held today, Dec. 23, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment is at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.
Mr. O’Neill is survived by his wife, Lena E.; children, Michael of Lombard, Donna (Charles) Schneider of Lombard, Ann (Darryl) Hendricks and Patricia of Lombard; one granddaughter; sisters, Elaine Duggan and Ellen Meyer; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Edward,  James, Cyril, Margaret and Marilyn; and brothers-in-law, Jack Duggan and Bud Meyer.
Mr. O’Neill was a resident of Lombard for 54 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II.

Edward Plonka


Funeral services for Edward J. Plonka, 60, of Villa Park, were held Tuesday, Dec. 22, from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, to Mass at St. John the Apostle Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Plonka is survived by his wife, Annette; son, Theodore; siblings, Sharon, Jeannette Plonka and Kenneth (Vicki) Plonka; two nieces and a nephew; and one godchild. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward (Dorothy) Plonka; and son, Matthew.

Nadia Schmitz


Funeral services for Nadia Schmitz, 79, of Lombard, are being held today, Dec. 23, with prayers from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Schmitz is survived by her children, Rosemary Secovec, Susan Truslow, James Jr. (Vicky Hallam) and Debra (Dave) Clutter; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and dear friend, Mary Ann Moorhead. She was preceded in death by her husband, James O.; and sister, Veronica.

Clarence Wagner


Clarence W. Wagner, 82, of Villa Park, died Thursday, Dec. 17, at Tabor Hills Health Care in Naperville.
Funeral services and interment were private.
Mr. Wagner is survived by his wife, Nancy J.; children, Scott (Beth), Wendy (Bill) Dunne of Lombard and Sheri Stapleton; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association, 8430 W. Bryn Mawr, Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60631, would be appreciated.
