Connie Bojan

Connie A. Bojan, nee Ruboyianes, of Plainfield, formerly of Lombard, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 14, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mrs. Bojan is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bob; children, Pam (Chuck) Zaremba, Peggy (Rob) Litvan and Paul (Sherri) of Lombard; nine grandchildren; brothers, George, Jim (Beth), Chris (Yolie) and Vic (Tammy); and many other dear friends and relatives.
Mrs. Bojan belonged to the Highland Hills Homeowners Association, had been a Girl Scout leader, was an avid shopper, was very active, loved doing things with her grandchildren and loved to travel.

LaVergne Bullens

LaVergne M. Bullens, 84, formerly of Villa Park, died Thursday, Feb. 12, in Wisconsin.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 16, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.
Mrs. Bullens is survived by her son, Robert (Elaine); five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Shirley and Eileen Reese. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F.; and brother, Calvin Reese.

John Bussa

John J. Bussa, 50, of Lombard, died Monday, Feb. 16, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
A memorial gathering will be held Friday, Feb. 20, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, Feb. 21, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment is private.
Mr. Bussa is survived by his parents, Bill J. and Rose M.; siblings, David of Lombard, Bill (Joyce), Donna (Randy) Effner, Sandy (Fidel) Gonzales of Lombard, Barbara (Pete) Abruzzo and Bob; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bussa grew up in Lombard and was a 1976 graduate of Glenbard East High School, where he was a member of the Madrigals. He attended Illinois State University and the University of New Mexico. He had lived in California for 10 years and in Lombard for the past 18 years. He was a singer, writer and performer and had a CD, “Songs From the Memory Bank.” He had several one-act plays in Chicago.

Virginia Grzenia

Virginia M. Grzenia, nee Rooney, 86, of Lombard, died Monday, Feb. 9, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 13, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Grzenia is survived by her children, Richard (Anyes), Brian (Randi) of Lombard, Gail (Jeff) Scherr of Lombard, Kathy Klein of Lombard and Laura Brusaw; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Bob Rooney and Mary (John Fertig) Rooney; and sister-in-law, Iola Grzenia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin J.; son-in-law, Bob Klein; and brothers-in-law, Bill and Dick Grzenia.
Mrs. Grzenia was a resident of Lombard for 58 years and had worked as a retail clerk at Carson’s of Yorktown. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church, where she was a member of the church women’s club.

Marie Kalafut

Marie V. Kalafut, nee Karier, 84, of Alden Valley Ridge, Bloomingdale, formerly of Villa Park, died Sunday, Feb. 15 in Bloomingdale.
Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 19, at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 S. Princeton, Villa Park.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 20, with prayers from the funeral home to St. Alexander Church in Villa Park. Interment is at St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove.
Mrs. Kalafut is survived by her children, Patricia (James) Harvey, Richard Sr. (Donna) and Susan (Kurt) Kregger; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, Betty Kodl and Clarence Karier. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; and siblings, Bernice, Viola and Joseph.
Mrs. Kalafut had worked as a secretary for Finley Galleries in Chicago.

Barbara Markovic

Barbara Markovic, 62, of Lombard, formerly of Milwaukee, Wis., died Saturday, Feb. 14, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, with the Rev. Peter Jarosz of Christ the King Catholic Church in Lombard officiating.
Mrs. Markovic is survived by her husband, Terrance “Terry”; children, Nicholas and Laura (Phil) King; mother, Beatrice Kuzba; mother-in-law, Lauretta (the late Emil) Markovic; two grandchildren; brother-in-law, George (Nancy) Markovic; and two nephews.
Mrs. Markovic was known for living life for her grandchildren.

Lillian McHone

Funeral services for Lillian J. McHone, R.N., nee Tomaso, 74, of Villa Park, were held Monday, Feb. 16, at St. Alexander Church Gathering Space in Villa Park. Entombment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. McHone is survived by her husband, Robert; son, Paul (Lisa); five grandchildren; siblings, Ann (Robert) Reedy and Vincent (Nancy) Tomaso; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael (Mary) Tomaso.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Alexander Church would be appreciated.

Nancy Ruet

Funeral services for Nancy A. Ruet, nee Crandall, 49, of Villa Park, were held Saturday, Feb. 14, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Mt. Emblem Cemetery.
Mrs. Ruet is survived by her husband, Gene; parents, Donald A. and Marilyn R. Crandall; sister, Diane (Walter) Kaminski; and many nieces and nephews.

Rita Skudlarek

Rita R. Skudlarek, 86, of Villa Park, died Friday, Feb. 6, at Sunrise Senior Living in Glen Ellyn.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Skudlarek is survived by her children, Gloria (the late Barry) Murphy and Roy (Judith); six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Werner.
Mrs. Skudlarek was a homemaker.
Arrangements were made by Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.

Daniel Vinyard

Daniel Vinyard, 49, of California, formerly of Lombard, died Thursday, Feb. 5, in California.
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, Feb. 21, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Mr. Vinyard is survived by his wife, Kimberly; daughters, Kelly and Tina; mother, Liz Vinyard; siblings, Michael of Villa Park and Debbie (Steve) Richard; and one niece.
Mr. Vinyard had been a resident of California for two years. He grew up in Lombard and attended Glenbard East High School. He had worked as a self-employed carpenter in DuPage County for many years.

Lieselotte Wagner

Funeral services for Lieselotte M. Wagner, 78, of Villa Park, were held Thursday, Feb. 12, with prayers from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, to Mass at St. John the Apostle Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Wagner is survived by her children, Marlies (Ken) Woldeit, Monika (Bob) Schwaner and Al (Diane); nine grandchildren; brothers, Oswald (Erika) and Joachim (Joy) Lehmann; and many nieces and nephews.
