Frances Donofrio

Frances R. Donofrio, nee Kucaba, 86, of Lombard, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Delnor Hospital in Geneva.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 6, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Donofrio is survived by her children, Betty (Terry) Schmidt, Mary (David) Scott, John (Susan), Louise (Ken) Simons, Michael (JoAnn) and Donna (Steve) Pietrzak; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, James (Mimi) Kucaba. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Louis; granddaughter, Corrine Scott; and siblings, Hildegard Sedlar, Florence Collins and Frederic Kucaba.
Mrs. Donofrio had been a resident of Lombard for 50 years. She enjoyed reading, cooking, baking and going to lunch with friends; had been an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church for over 50 years and was active in the St. Pius CCW, and was a frequent patron of the Helen M. Plum Memorial Library.

Alice Coley

Alice M. Coley, nee Verbeke, 84, of Lombard, died Thursday, Jan. 1, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 6, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Lombard. Interment was at Assumption Cemetery in Winfield.
Mrs. Coley is survived by her children, Diane (Jeffrey) Holmes, Timothy (Patti) and William (Roberta) of Lombard; daughter-in-law, Judith Coley; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lavester A. “Les”; and son, Richard.
Mrs. Coley had been a resident of Lombard since 1961. She was the former secretary of Sacred Heart from 1964-78 and worked for Regional Realty from 1981-93 as an administrative assistant.
Memorials to Sacred Heart School Scholarship Fund, 114 S. Elizabeth St., Lombard, IL 60148, would be appreciated.

John Hogan

John Joseph Hogan, 79, of Lombard, formerly of Dublin, Ireland, died Monday, Dec. 29, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 2, from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Church in Lombard, with the Rev. John Guiney officiating. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Hogan is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Patricia (Rick) Flores, Mandy Goray and Christopher (Diane); seven grandchildren; seven siblings, 11 in-laws; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hogan was a painter and was affiliated with the painter’s union Local #147.

Geraldine Katz

Geraldine H. Bosworth Katz, nee Wolf, 89, of Chicago, formerly of Naperville and Des Plaines, died
Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Imperial Grove Pavilion in Chicago.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 5, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Elmlawn Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mrs. Katz is survived by her husband, Bernard; children, Barbara Holt, Barry (Adriane) Bosworth, Betty (Robert) Dohe of Lombard and Bill Bosworth; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Bosworth; sister, Bette Lister; and brother, Henry Wolf.
Mrs. Katz worked for Rand McNally as an illustrator. She had also worked in marketing research; and had been involved in event planning, costumes and fundraising for the American Heart Association.

Timothy Kiolbassa

Timothy J. Kiolbassa, 52, of Villa Park, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Visitation will be today, Jan. 7, at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 S. Princeton, Villa Park.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 8, with prayers from the funeral home to Mass at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Kiolbassa is survived by his wife of 22 years, Lori; children, Lance and Nicole; mother, June; siblings, Elizabeth, Thomas (Lucy), Cathrine (Ronald) Kogal, William, Maria and James (Karen); and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene.
Mr. Kiolbassa was a resident of Villa Park for three years. He had worked for AT&T for 29 1/2 years.

Mary Leon

Mary Lucille Leon, 89, of Villa Park, died Saturday, Jan. 3.
A Mass will be held Friday, Jan. 9, at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park.
Mrs. Leon is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann (Paul) Carrington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam.
Mrs. Leon was a lifelong resident of Villa Park. She worked for more than 30 years at Ovaltine Foods in Villa Park and as a hostess at Villa Nova restaurant. She was active in Mary’s Circle at St. Alexander Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Naperville Humane Society—in celebration of the many years of happiness with her cats, Cleo and Diana, adopted from the society—would be appreciated.

Jerry Oldham

Jerry T. Oldham, 66, of Sycamore, formerly of Lombard, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva.
Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 1, at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 S. Princeton, Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mr. Oldham is survived by his wife, Martha; children; Christine Miravete, Deborah Hansen, Dorene Hengle, Sherry Letkomiller, Jerry Jr. (Tammy) and Shawn (Lynn); 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley (William) Bricker. He was preceded in death by his siblings, James and Brenda Heyman; and parents, James and Anna.
Mr. Oldham was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and was the garden shop manager at Kmart in Lombard.

Vito Ottolino

Vito Ottolino, 71, of Villa Park, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, in Villa Park.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 3, with prayers from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, to Mass at St. John the Apostle Church in Villa Park. Entombment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Ottolino is survived by his wife, Maria; children, Rina (Jeff) Boundy, Frank (Allison) and Angela (Ken) Katvia; seven grandchildren; siblings, Pat (Minnie), Sam, Mary (Jerry) Stark, Theresa (Guy) D’Alesio and Minnie Ottolino; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Ottolino.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Elmhurst Memorial Hospice would be appreciated.

Esther Ouseley

Esther E. Ouseley, nee Steinhauer, 85, formerly of Villa Park, died Monday, Dec. 29, at DuPage Convalescent Center in Wheaton.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 3, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Glen Oak Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Ouseley is survived by her son, Frank A.; daughters, Shirley (Henry) Pietras and Betty (David) Clairmont; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Sr.; and one brother and one sister.
Mrs. Ouseley was currently a resident of Wheaton and was formerly of Villa Park from 1944 to 2004, and had been a resident of Glen Ellyn from 2004-06. She was born in Michigan and was a 1941 graduate of York High School in Elmhurst. She attended Beauty College of Chicago and was an independent hairdresser at Esther’s Beauty Salon in Elmhurst from the 1940s to 1968. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Florence Porter

Florence C. Porter, nee Schutz, 86, of Villa Park, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Manor Health Care.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 6, with prayers from Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 S. Princeton, Villa Park, to Mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Porter is survived by her children, Lauretta Hodina; Florence Czerwinski, Mary (Rick) Juarez, Bruce (Victoria) and Thad (Kelley) of Villa Park; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Geraldine Draniczarek, Sister Pauline A. Schutz OSE of Lombard and Georgiana (William) Glennon; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Schutz; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Elmer T.; son-in-law, Lester Czerwinski; sister, Lauretta Schutz; and brother, Nicholas Schutz.
Mrs. Porter had been a resident of Villa Park for 31 years and was formerly of Lombard for five years. She graduated from Siena High School in 1940, and was a former VIP member of St Pius X, where she was also a member of the Bereavement Ministry. She worked at the Ray Graham Society and liked doing crafts.

Mary Parvin

Mary Sue Parvin, 84, of Midlothian, Va., died Tuesday, Dec. 30.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 3, at Salisbury Presbyterian Church in Midlothian.
Mrs. Parvin is survived by her children, Cordell M. and Annalee Finch; one granddaughter; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Parvin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Franklin Palmer; husband of 36 years, Tom H.; and sister, Julia Palmer.
Mrs. Parvin was a graduate of Longwood College with a B.S. degree in both chemistry and math, and a graduate of Northern Illinois University, with an M.S.Ed. She had taught at Park View Elementary School in Lombard.

Pamela Shanks

Pamela L. Shanks, nee Nemecek, 55, of Lombard, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 5, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St. Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Church in Lombard. Interment was at Bronswood Cemetery in Oak Brook.
Mrs. Shanks is survived by her husband, Philip E.; sons, Casey and Jeffrey; father, Irvin J. Nemecek; brother, Skip (Laura) Nemecek; 10 nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Sam and Mack. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Nemecek.
Mrs. Shanks was a resident of Lombard for 32 years. She was a 1971 graduate of Morton West High School and had worked as an administrative assistant for 12 years for the Salt Creek School District.

Anna Tomanek

Anna A. Tomanek, nee Hanczar, 83, of Lombard, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, at DuPage Convalescent Center in Wheaton.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 5, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Church in Lombard. Interment was at Assumption Cemetery in Winfield.
Mrs. Tomanek is survived by her children, Joseph (Bonnie) and Patricia (Kenneth) Majerchin; one granddaughter; sisters, Genevieve (Alvin) Geever, Catherine (Henry) Toloczko and Shirley Fitzsimmons; sister-in-law, Virginia Tomanek; brother-in-law, Arthur Hochstadter; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Joseph Jr.; and siblings, Delores Hanczar, Sophie Cadek, Mary Milewski, Helen Walker, Rose Hochstadter, Frank and Florian.
Mrs. Tomanek was a resident of Lombard for 52 years. She was a homemaker, active gardener and member of St. Pius X Church, and enjoyed most being a mother and grandmother.

Paul von Neupert

Paul E. von Neupert, 76, of Lombard for 50 years, died Friday, Dec. 26, at Rosewood Care Center in Elgin.
A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, Jan. 11, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment is private.
