John Booker

John L. Booker, 66, of Bellwood, died Saturday, July 11, in Bellwood.
Graveside services were held Friday, July 17, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
Mr. Booker is survived by his cousins, Justin Drake, Russell Farmer, Willie Mae Lake, Louverda Miles, Fanny Mae Edwards and Ida Marie Hannah; and many other cousins and friends, including special friend Margaret Zupsich. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leethaniel and Demmie Booker.
Mr. Booker was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War, and had worked for United Airlines as a flight attendant.
Arrangements were made by Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard.

Richard DelGiudice

Richard Joseph “Rich” DelGiudice, 77, of Lombard, died Saturday, July 18, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services are being held today, July 22, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, with the Rev. Tom Corbino officiating. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. DelGiudice is survived by his children, Lynne Edmonds, Rich (Jennifer), Joseph, Vicki, Janet Waghorne, George (Cathy) and Nick (Angela); 16 grandchildren; and sister, Gloria Atkinson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy.
Mr. DelGiudice had worked as a furniture salesman. He was a member of the Chicago 16-inch Softball Hall of Fame, inducted in 2008.

June Jauch

June Marie Jauch, nee Carpenter, 83, of Carol Stream, formerly of Lombard, died Wednesday, July 15.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 17, at Brust Funeral Home in Carol Stream. Interment was at Glen Oak Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Jauch is survived by her husband, Herbert; siblings, Christine DuMez, Carol (Michael) Mazzone, Barbara Momsen and Nancy (Louis) Vicelli; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond and Arthur Carpenter.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association would be appreciated.

Robert Miklovic

Robert E. Miklovic, died Wednesday, July 15.
A family memorial service was held on Sunday, July 19, and another for friends and former co-workers will be held at a later date.
Mr. Miklovic is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Christopher, Brian (Donna) and Stacey (Jimmy) Cybulski; six grandchildren; and sister, Sharon Murdock. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
Mr. Miklovic served in the United States Navy and had worked for Sherwin Williams. He was formerly of Seven Hills, Ohio.

Emma Schweppe

Emma R. Schweppe, nee Riehl, 100, of Lombard, died Friday, July 17, at Beacon Hill Health Center in Lombard.
Funeral services are being held today, July 22, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, with the Rev. Robert Hatfield of First Church of Lombard officiating. Interment is private.
Mrs. Schweppe is survived by her sons, Ralph (Elaine) and August “Bud” (Marleah); six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Elizabeth Lorek. She was preceded in death by her husband, August E., whom she married in 1928; and brother-in-law, Mack Lorek.
Mrs. Schweppe was born in Austria-Hungary and came to the United States in 1910. She was a 1925 graduate of Waller High School (now Lincoln Park) in Chicago, and entered the University of Chicago in 1925 age age 16. She was the co-founder of Schweppe & Sons.
Mrs.. Schweppe was the president of Roosevelt PTA in Elmhurst in 1942, executive vice president of Hawthorne PTA and president of York High School PTA from 1948-50. She was chairman of the Red Cross drive during the 1940s and helped start the first youth center in Elmhurst. She was the secretary and a musician with the Ladies of the Elks during the 1940s, and had been president, and on the board of directors, at River Forest County Club from 1948-62.
She was a world traveler and enjoyed her family, friends, music, dancing, reading, knitting, cooking, golf, bridge, old movies, the Big Bands and corresponding.

Michael Seghi

Visitation for Michael G. Seghi, 60, of Villa Park, will be today, July 22, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 23, from the funeral home to Mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment is at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Mr. Seghi is survived by his wife, Frances; children, Lynn (Randy) Menzie, Sarah (Jim) Abrams and Samuel; two grandchildren; siblings, Carol Voss, Tom (Laya), Rose Godek and Mark (Donna); and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Seghi was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

James Snook

James J. Snook, 67, of Villa Park, died May 15 at Lexington Healthcare Center in Lombard.
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, July 25, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment is private.
Mr. Snook is survived by his children, Teresa (Tim) Syrstad and Rod; three grandchildren; brothers, Denis (Susan) and Jud (Marcia) Higgins; brother-in-law, Bart Wagenman; two nephews and two nieces; and former wife, Jan Snook. He was preceded in death by his sister, Pat Wagenman.
Mr. Snook was a resident of Villa Park for over 30 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, was a professional photographer and owned Snook Studios in Addison and Villa Park, was very involved as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard, and was an excellent marksman and an avid collector.

Ruby Zimmerman

Ruby M. Zimmerman, nee Ludeking, 98, of York Center, died Sunday, July 12, in Lombard.
A memorial service was held Saturday, July 18, at Grace Lutheran Church in River Forest.
Mrs. Zimmerman is survived by her children, Richard (Brenda Kirby and the late Doris) and Ann (Ronald) Roth; four grandchildren; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederic August and Martha Ludeking; and husband, George W., whom she married on her parents’ farm.
Mrs. Zimmerman had worked as a seamstress and was was a 74-year member of Grace Lutheran Church in River Forest.
Memorials to Grace Lutheran Church, 7300 Division St., River Forest, IL 60305-1295, would be appreciated.
