Sarah Jo Balgemann

Sarah Jo Balgemann, 27, formerly of Lombard, died Friday, March 13, in Las Vegas, Nev.
A memorial service was held Sunday, March 22, at the home of Marc and Kacy Balgemann.
Ms. Balgemann is survived by her son, Robert Anthony Ramirez; parents, (retired Lombard police officer) Ronald and Susan Balgemann (former Village of Lombard police employee); siblings, Ashleigh (Dave) Daku, Marc (Kacy) Balgemann, Tina Balgemann; and 14 nieces and nephews.
Ms. Balgemann was a graduate of St. John’s Lutheran School in Lombard and graduated with a certificate as a medical assistant from Heritage College.

Robert Canick

Robert J. “Bobby” Canick, 68, of Elmhurst, died Sunday, March 22, at Elmhurst Extended Care in Elmhurst.
Funeral services will be held today, March 25, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment is at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mr. Canick is survived by his wife, Katherine A.; children, Kristin Wilderman, Robert C. (Dora) and Jennifer (Dan) Gould; five grandchildren; and mother, Gladys Canick. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E.
Mr. Canick was a resident of Elmhurst for 31 years. He was a graduate of Onarga Military School in Onarga, Ill., and was a member of Local 110 Projectionists Union.

Kenneth Dover

Kenneth W. Dover, 69, of Lombard, died Sunday, March 22, in Lombard.
Funeral services will be held today, March 25, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment is private.
Mr. Dover is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dolores; children, Jussine, Nadine, Phillip (Janeane), Norine of Lombard and Maureen (Jeff) Calegan; two grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Dover had a passion for motorcycles and took up motorcycle racing in his 60s, winning several awards.

Irene Duddridge

Irene F. Duddridge, nee Merz, 84, of Lombard, died Tuesday, March 24, in Lombard.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Friday, March 27, at Grace Lutheran Church in Bensenville. Interment is at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mrs. Duddridge is survived by her children, Linda L. Goins and Norman J. Jr. (Linda M.) of Lombard; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ruth Dettman, Mildred Leach, Grace (Allan) Danielson and Henry (Marion) Merz Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman J. Sr.; sisters, Lee Stene and Gladys Freier; and brothers-in-law, Irving Dettman, Pete Leach, James Freier and James McAllister.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Grace Lutheran Church, 950 S. York Road, Bensenville, IL 60106; or Elmhurst Memorial Hospice would be appreciated.

Michael Harvey

Michael R. Harvey, 56, of Lombard, died Saturday, March 21, in Lombard, after a long illness.
Funeral services will be held today, March 25, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment is at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mr. Harvey is survived by his children, Frank (Kelli) and Tammie (Mike); five grandchildren; mother, W. Jean (the late James) Harvey; friend, Martie Paschon; and brothers, Jim and Hank.

Amy Lottmann

Amy E. Lottmann, 41, of Lombard, died Saturday, March 21, in Lombard.
Visitation will be today, March 25, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 26, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Peter Jarosz officiating. Interment is private.
Ms. Lottmann is survived by her brother, Scott Lottmann; and was the niece of Doris (Michael) Wickman, Jeri Michaels and Joyce (Bruce) Dykema.
Ms. Lottmann had worked as an administrative assistant in real estate.

Irene Swanson

Irene H. Swanson, 86, of Lombard, died Tuesday, March 17, in Lombard.
A memorial service was held Saturday, March 21, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private.
Mrs. Swanson is survived by her son, David; and sisters, Katherine (Robert) Roden and Patricia (Dick) Kelly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren.
Mrs. Swanson was a resident of Lombard for over 50 years. She loved going to the casino and gambling.

Robert Volin

Robert W. “Bob” Volin, 84, of Lombard, formerly a longtime resident of Downers Grove, died Sunday, March 15, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 19, from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Church in Lombard, with the Rev. Peter Jarosz officiating. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Volin is survived by his wife, Emma Hood; children, Mark, Louise (the late Charles) Carlson and Kenneth (Linda); and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanore; parents, Louis and Jean Volin; and brother, Richard Volin.
Mr. Volin graduated from Morton High School in 1943 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in post-war Italy. He was retired from Western Electric, after which he took up bowling and golf to stay active; he was a league office for both sports. He was a skilled equestrian and loved to ride in the local forest preserves; he was president of the Boots and Saddle Riding Club. He enjoyed puzzles, crosswords and card games, being especially good at poker; was quick with a joke; and was an accomplished ballroom dancer to the tunes of Goodwin and Gershwin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Association or American Kidney Association would be appreciated.

Jessie Zimmerman

Jessie A. Zimmerman, nee Brown, 89, of Pinecrest Manor, Mt. Morris, Ill., died Wednesday, March 18, at Pinecrest Manor.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 20, at York Center Church of the Brethren in Lombard, with the Rev. Christy Waltersdorff officiating. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mrs. Zimmerman is survived by her daughter, Linda (Keith) Kaelin; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and brother, William (Marilynne) Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley C.
Mrs. Zimmerman was a longtime resident of Lombard, and an Indiana resident since 1979. She was a homemaker and was a member of York Center Church of the Brethren.
