Jean Boik

Jean Rose Boik, nee Bailey, 80, formerly of Lombard, died Friday, May 15, at Rush Copley Hospital in Aurora.
Visitation will be today, May 20, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 21, with prayers from the funeral home to Mass at Christ the King Church in Lombard. Interment is at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Stickney.
Mrs. Boik is survived by her children, Gary (LaTena), Nancy (Robert) Ruff, Karen (Jaime) Schmidt and David; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer J.
Mrs. Boik was a resident of Lombard from 1967-98 and then moved to Davenport, Fla., from 1998 to 2009. She had worked as a manager in the dress department at Evans in Yorktown from 1970-74, and had also worked at College of DuPage in the bookstore for several years and did telemarketing for two years.

David Lyding

David P. Lyding, 96, formerly of Bellwood, died Thursday, May 14, at Provina Pine View Care Center in St. Charles.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 21, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Melrose Park. Inurnment will be at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mr. Lyding is survived by his daughter-in-law, Wilma L. Lyding; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn M.; and son, David R.
Memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1025 W. Lake St., Melrose Park, IL 60160; or the Moody Bible Institute, 820 N. LaSalle Drive, Chicago, IL 60610, would be appreciated.
Arrangements were made by Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.

Mary O’Connell

Mary Alice O’Connell, nee Schowalter, 92, of Lombard, died Monday, May 11, in Madison, Wis.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 19, from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Lombard. Interment was private.
Mrs. O’Connell is survived by her husband, Frank; children, Sharon (Dale) Melin, Catherine, Deborah (John) Ryan of Lombard, Dennis (Carol) and Dr. Kevin (Jill); 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Patricia Kemper.
Mrs. O’Connell was a resident of Lombard since 1958. She was a longtime parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Margaret Price

Margaret S. Price, of Lombard, died Monday, May 11, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
A remembrance was held Friday, May 15, in Lombard.
Mrs. Price is survived by her mother, Margaret Wiegman; children, William, Jeffery and Pamela (Bosch); four grandchildren; and sister, Carole Martin.

Donald Robertson

Funeral services for Donald R. Robertson, 84, of Lombard, were held Tuesday, May 19, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Robertson is survived by his wife of 61 years, Hattie; children, Candace (the late Tony) Castellano, Lynn (Frank) Nusbaum, Pamela Rank and Mark (Michelle); 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Edna Urban.
Mr. Robertson was a 54-year resident of Lombard, and was a veteran of World War II.

Priscilla Rogers

A memorial service for Priscilla S. Rogers, 81, of Lombard, will be held Saturday, May 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Villa Park.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by her children, John, Marilyn Felix (Rick DiPomazio), Richard (LuAnn) and the Rev. Robert A. (Danya); seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, IL 60181, would be appreciated.
Arrangements were made by Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.

Helen Van Der Dyke

Helen Van Der Dyke, nee Boerman, 71, of Villa Park, died Wednesday, May 13, in Villa Park.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 18, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, with the Rev. Merle Den Bleyker of Ebenezer Christian Reformed Church of Berwyn officiating. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mrs. Van Der Dyke is survived by her husband, Allen J.; children, Sandra (Gary) Binstein, Michael (Victoria), Barbara, Kathy and Donna (Robert) Goedeke; seven grandchildren; brother Alvin (Joan) Boerman; sister-in-law, Alice (the late John) Van Tholen; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Van Der Dyke was a homemaker.
Memorials to CRC World Mission or the Ebenezer Appeal Fund would be appreciated.

William Wendt

Funeral services for William H. Wendt, 88, were held Monday, May 18, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mr. Wendt is survived by his brother, Lester (the late Mary) Wendt; and three nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Claire; and siblings, Howard Wendt, Lois Grand and June Hulford.
Mr. Wendt was a member and past master of the Villa Park Masonic Lodge #113 AF&AM, and a member of the Medinah Shriners. A Masonic service was also held Sunday, May 17, at the funeral home.
