Grace Debelak-Buscemi

Grace Debelak-Buscemi, nee DeVincenzo, 95, formerly of Lombard, died Friday, May 22.
Visitation will be today, May 27, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 28, with prayers from the funeral home to Mass at Christ the King Church in Lombard. Interment is at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Debelak-Buscemi is survived by her son, Gerald (Bonnie) Buscemi; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, August Buscemi and Joseph Debelak; daughter, Annette; and sister, Rose Jesse.
Mrs. Debelak-Buscemi had been a resident of the Lombard area for over 60 years. She had worked in retail for the Villa Park Lamp Store and also Sears in Oak Brook.

Ronald Fippinger

Ronald A. Fippinger, 66, died Thursday, April 23, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Mr. Fippinger is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Lisa and Peter and their families; and brother, Gerald. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Anna Hohensee and Arthur William Fippinger.
Mr. Fippinger settled in Lombard in 1962 and worked for more than 30 years in the trade show and convention industry, working in every major facility in the U.S. and many abroad. He began his career with the National Housewares Manufacturing Association in Chicago, developing international trade programs and managing shows around the globe. He also fostered trade relations in the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Costa Rica. He later joined the Interface Group and Show Management & Services Inc., also specializing in international activities.
Mr. Fippinger was dedicated to the historical preservation of the former Babcock’s Grove and broader region, and later served as president of the Lombard Historical Society. He was actively involved in First Presbyterian Church of Lombard until his relocation to Colorado in 1997, such as with the Boy Scouts of America and Habitat for Humanity. He was an active sailor, scuba diver, skier, swimmer, musician and antique car enthusiast. He was known for his unique ability to connect people in these and other communities.

Beverly Diane Nesbitt

Beverly Diane Nesbitt, 68, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and formerly of Lombard, Illinois, was called to her heavenly home on November 13, 2008.

She was the loving mom of her three children, Sherry Diane Mildenberger (Doug), Sandra Lee Kubica (Timothy) and Harry Andrews Nesbitt Jr. (Stephanie); devoted and adored grandmother (G.G.) to her grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Samantha, Marcus, Sophia, Sydney, Harry, Madison and Shelby; dear little sister (“brat”) to her brother, Lawrence Grant; and caring friend to so many.
Beverly (Mom) had such a passion for life. She loved new adventures and loved to travel in the states and abroad. She raised three children on her own with love, courage and faith. Her happiness was contagious. She always lit up a room when she entered.
She enjoyed a long, successful career in banking; many years with LaSalle National Bank in the Loop (she loved the city of Chicago). She was such a bright light in so many lives and will be deeply missed and always loved.
Her memorial service will be held Friday, May 29, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 215 S. Lincoln St., Lombard.

Paul Sarch

Paul Oscar Sarch, 71, died Wednesday, May 20, in Houston, Texas.
A full military service will be held Friday, May 29, at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Houston.
Mr. Sarch is survived by his wife, Kris; seven children; and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Sarch was a former police officer in Lombard from 1968-88.

David Scholz

David R. Scholz, 43, of Glendale Heights, died suddenly Thursday, May 21, in Glendale Heights.
Funeral services will be held today, May 27, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment is at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mr. Scholz is survived by his son, David R., of whom he is co-parent with Kelli Brice; parents, Lorena and Edward Scholz; brothers, William (Lori), Robert (Mary) of Lombard and Danny (Danni); and five nieces and nephews.
Mr. Scholz grew up in Chicago and graduated from Carl Schurz High School in Chicago in 1983. He was a resident of Glendale Heights for over 10 years and was a mold maker for Cast Products. He coached Glendale Heights Spartans football and Glenside baseball, and was an avid fisherman and volleyball player.

Heather Schuster

Heather Christine Rozella Schuster, 17, of Pilot Point, Texas, died of cystic fibrosis Saturday, May 16, at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston while waiting for a lung transplant.
A memorial service was held Thursday, May 21, at Midway Baptist Church in Aubrey, with the Rev. Kenny Guthrie officiating.
Ms. Schuster is survived by her parents, Lloyd and Maggie Schuster; sister, Hope Olivia Schuster; paternal grandmother, Beverly Olive; maternal grandparents, Harold and Pat Streicher; aunts, Mare App, Susan Jastrab, Paula Dragas, Kim and Carol Scaliatine and Adele (Brian) Cuddy; uncles, Harold (Renee) Streicher and John (Meghann) Streicher; extended family members, including Melissa Craig; 18 cousins; and beloved horses and pets. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Mel Schuster; and uncle, Glenn Schuster.
Memorials to North Star Bank for “Heather’s Ponies,” c/o Star Gazer Ranch would be appreciated, as well as becoming an organ donor.
