Henry Anderson


Funeral services for Henry “David” Anderson, 82, of Villa Park, were held Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Calvary United Methodist Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Florice; children, Jill (John) Payne, Jack (Judy), Beth (Tom) Haaker and JoEllen (Greg) Cicero; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Theda (the late Raymond) Lehman and Willis (Charlotte) Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Edward K.
Arrangements were made by Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.

Emil Bartek


Funeral services for Emil “John” Bartek were held Thursday, Sept. 10, at Sts. Peter and Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Riverside. Interment was at Mt. Vernon Memorial Estates.
Mr. Bartek is survived by his daughter, Susie (Silviano, M.D.) Gomez; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and devoted caregivers, Ruby Broome, Edna Fatelow, Brenda McGinnis, special dog Samantha, and staff from Life Care Innovations with Dr. Cornwel and CNS Hospice. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Zuzanna Bartek; wife of 63 years, Mary; and brother, Paul Bartek.
Mr. Bartek was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II in the South Pacific, in New Hebrides and New Caledonia, where the Allied Forces built a major naval base to combat the advance of Imperial Japan. During and after the war he studied drafting and design engineering, and he worked for numerous engineering firms, with his longest affiliation at Sargent and Lundy. He was proud of his involvement with the design end of the nuclear power plants in Byron and Braidwood. After his retirement, the Barteks moved to Abbey Woods in Lombard, where they spent the last 14 years of their lives.
As a child, Mr. Bartek was an avid baseball player and was part of the Amigoes baseball team. His dream was to be a professional player with his beloved White Sox. In addition to baseball, his interests included Navel, Czech and Slovak heritage; golf; stamp and coin collecting; and love of family.

Robert Bojan


Robert P. Bojan, 77, of Plainfield, formerly of Lombard, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 21, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Committal was at Elm Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Bojan is survived by his children, Pam (Chuck) Zaremba, Peggy (Rob) Litvan and Paul (Sherri) of Lombard; nine grandchildren; siblings, Claudia (Tom) Ritchey and Louis; and was the brother-in-law of George, Jim (Beth), Chris (Yolie) and Vic (Tammy) Ruboyianes. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Connie A.; and sister-in-law, Georgia.
Mr. Bojan loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed fiddling around in the garage, and was a member of AHEPA of Tucson, Ariz.

Carole Dunn


Visitation and funeral services for Carole A. Dunn, nee Bock, 76, of Villa Park, will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment is private.
Mrs. Dunn is survived by her children, Jim and Dave (Rose); four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Philip (the late Marilyn) Bock, Therese (Don) McCarthy and Phyllis (the late Jim) Westlake. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale L.; and sister, Betty (Jerry) Schroeder.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Ralph Rosenwinkel


Ralph L. Rosenwinkel, 83, of Yorkville, formerly of Addison, died Friday, Sep. 18, at Hillside Rehab and Care Centre, Yorkville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sep. 22, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West.
Mr. Rosenwinkel is survive by his wife, Janet E.; children, Kenneth (Jo Ann) and Cheryl (Gerry) Healey; two grandchildren; brothers, Willard and Edward; sister-in-law, Ruth; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harvey; and sister-in-law, Barbara.
Mr. Rosenwinkel was a 22-year resident of Yorkville. He was born in Bloomingdale and attended Trinity Lutheran School in Roselle, St. John’s Lutheran School in Lombard and Glenbard High School in Glen Ellyn. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Europe and Germany during World War II.
Mr. Rosenwinkel was a farmer in the Addison and Yorkville areas and also in Lee County. He was a member of the DuPage County and Kendall County farm bureaus; of Cross Lutheran Church, Yorkville; and the Elmhurst VFW Post #2048.

James St. Louis


Funeral services for James H. St. Louis, 58, of Villa Park, were held Thursday, Sept. 17, at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mr. St. Louis is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty”; sons, Jacob (Christine), Adam (Amethyst) and Nathaniel; siblings, Hubert (Christine), Robert, Kathy (John) Bergs, Mary (Alex) Vorissis and M. Josephine; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Alexander Church Gathering Space would be appreciated.

Faye Lauretta Schumacher

Born to Emma and George Buerer on January 10, 1918, in Ogilvie, Minn., Faye passed away at home on September 14, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William A. Schumacher Sr.

Faye is survived by four children, sons William Schumacher Jr. (Clare) of Fort Myers, Fla.; Stephen (Patricia) of Fort Walton Beach, Fla; daughters , Susan Hurst (Ron) of Fort Walton Beach and Nancy Piedlow (Dale) of Winfield, Ill., 11 grandchildren, Michael, Paul, Joseph, Emmalee, Julie, William III, Marianne, Ellen, Sarah, Susie and Kathy; 20 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Faye recently moved to Fort Walton Beach from her longtime home in Lombard. She was a devoted Christian and homemaker, enjoyed playing cards, golf, socializing and being with her loving family. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She was known as “The Classy Lady.”

A memorial service will be held on a future date in Illinois.
