Robert Bauman


Funeral services for Robert H. Bauman, 95, of Itasca, were held Tuesday, April 13, at Mt. Emblem Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel.
Mr. Bauman was preceded in death by his wife, Edna.
Memorials to the Lutheran Church of St. Luke, 410 S. Rush St., Itasca, IL 60143, would be appreciated.
Arrangements were made by Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.

Agnes Cernick

Visitation for Agnes “Jane” Cernick, nee Jusko, 88, formerly of Villa Park, will be held today, April 14, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 15, with prayers from the funeral home to Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Addison. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Cernick is survived by her children, Karyn (Richard) Kingsbury and Jayne (Lonny Wachsning) Crosley; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Marion Lilliquist; many nieces and nephews; caregiver Dorothy Zukowska. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence M.; and siblings, Betty, John, George, Diane and Irene Jusko.

Philip Dolamore

Philip J. Dolamore, 83, of Lombard, died Thursday, April 8, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 12, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines.
Mr. Dolamore is survived by his wife, Ardith A.; two nephews; and many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ethel; and brothers, William and Frank.
Mr. Dolamore had been a resident of Lombard since 1956. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during World War II, and was a former employee of Ace Hardware in Lombard and Roselle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society, 1801 S. Meyers Road, Suite 100, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181, would be appreciated.

William Hammerschmidt

Funeral services for William E. Hammerschmidt were held Monday, April 12, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Mr. Hammerschmidt is survived by his wife, Darlene; children, Catherine (Thomas) Marquardt, William (Kathryn), Tanya Kubish and Todd (Jonna) Kubish; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Wanda Fisher and Bernice Gondella.
Mr. Hammerschmidt was the former owner/partner of Hammerschmidt Lumber in Lombard.

Marjorie Henry

Marjorie C. Henry, 79, of Villa Park, died Wednesday, April 7.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 12, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mrs. Henry is survived by her husband, Richard A.; children, Ron (Linda), Cheryl (Jerry) Polanowski and Sandy (Rick) Herbert; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard M.; and grandson, Kevin Richard (Michelle).
Arrangements were made by Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.

Jordan Klein

Jordan M. Klein, 23, of Lombard, died suddenly Saturday, April 10, in Lombard.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 15, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 16, with prayers from the funeral home to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment is private.
Mr. Klein is survived by his mother, Kathy; and brother, Tristan; girlfriend, Ashley Monahan; adopted “brothers,” Joe Duda and Kyle Hogan; aunts and uncles, Rich (Agnes) Grzenia, Gail (Jeff) Scherr, Laura Brusaw, Brian (Randi) Grzenia, Charlie (Roxanne) Klein, Patty (Dave) Lindstrom, Dan (Mary Pat) Klein, Mary Knoll and Julie (Joe) Katich; and 26 cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Bob; sister, Jenny; and grandparents, Edwin and Virginia Grzenia, and Frank and Alice Klein.
Mr. Klein was an avid fisherman and musky hunter. He loved anything with wheels, especially his “Black Beauty” Ford F350 V10 truck, 1971 classic Harley Davidson Sportster, 1966 Mustang and 18.5-foot Alumnacraft bass boat equipped with a 125 HP Mercury motor.
He was a fan of Chicago sports, Panera broccoli-cheese soup, Regina’s cream of chicken rice soup and Pappadeaux’ crayfish bisque. He was known for his beautiful blue eyes; willingness to help; handyman, carpentry and mechanical skills; and for his quiet way and easygoing nature.

Teresa Knox

Teresa “June” Knox, nee Horgan, 70, of Lombard, died Friday, April 9, in Lombard.
Funeral services are being held today, April 14, from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Church in Lombard, with the Rev. Thomas Corbino officiating. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Knox is survived by her husband, Harold; children, Erick (Julie), Keith (Christy) and Dale; and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Knox grew up in Kansas with eight brothers and sisters and graduated from Mary Mount College with a degree in nursing. She worked as a nurse in Manhattan and Topeka, Kan., prior to her marriage in 1964, and moving to Chicago. She was a busy volunteer involved with the Lombard Junior Women’s Club and countless fundraisers at St. Pius X School, and served on the Council of Catholic Women and for numerous liturgical endeavors for St. Pius X Church.
After her children graduated from high school she returned to school and earned a master’s degree in counseling from Illinois Benedictine University. She had worked as a licensed clinical counselor for Advocate Health Care for 15 years before retiring to spend more time with family and friends, traveling and enjoying her garden. Besides her deep love for her family, she had a tremendous network of friends.

Gertrude Kral

Funeral services and interment for Gertrude Kral, 86, of Villa Park, are private.
Mrs. Kral is survived by her children, Conrad (Sally) and Edward (Cheryl); four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John.
Arrangements were made by Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.

Michael McNally

Michael E. McNally, 62, of Lombard, died Thursday, April 8, in Lombard, after a courageous battle with multiple system atrophy (MSA).
Funeral services were held Monday, April 12, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, with the Rev. Don Ryan officiating. Interment was private.
Mr. McNally is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Michael J. (Maryann), Daniel R. (Michelle) and John P. (fiancée Dana Mendonsa) O’Connor; four grandchildren; 58 nieces and nephews; special nephew and niece Stephen and Jessica Bukielski; siblings, Raymond (Sue), Tom (Shirley), Patrick (Shirley), Mary (Raymond) Hurley, Martin (Janet), Terese (Tom) Carroll, Jim (Mary), David (Mary Beth) and Bill (Maryellen); many great-nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Harriet Bukielski; and brother-in-law, Stan (Eileen) Bukielski. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ann (the late Jack) Neary and Jean (Dennis) Cullom; and sister-in-law, Barbara Cornfield.
Mr. McNally was a vice president in information technology.

Leo Olsen

Leo Olson, 86, of Grand Junction, Nederland, Boulder and most recently, Longmont, Colo., formerly of Chicago and Villa Park, died Wednesday, April 7, from complications of rheumatoid arthritis.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 15, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont.
Mr. Olsen is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Cynthia and Gary; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Helen; and son, Jeffrey.
Mr. Olsen was born in Aalborg, Denmark, and came to the United States with his family at age 3 months. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard in the Pacific Theater during World War II, including Saipan, Iwo Jima, Leyte and Luzon, and received numerous service commendations during his tour of duty.
Mr. Olsen started out his long career as a cabinet maker, then went on to become a carpenter, the owner of his own construction business, building inspector and ultimately director of Building and Zoning for the Village of Villa Park.
Mr. Olsen’s retirement was put off once to work as a legal expert in the construction field in Chicago, and a second time to design and build major modifications to the Odeum Expo Center in Villa Park. He was known for his kindness and warm heart.
