Mary Bailey


Mary Catherine Bailey, nee Oswald, 83, of West Chicago, died Friday, April 16, in West Chicago.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 20, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Bailey is survived by her children, Kathleen Kelly-Slaughter, Peggy, William S. of Lombard, Denise (Ray Smith) Bailey and Michael (Julie); four grandchildren; sister, Patricia (Wayne) Marvinac; sister-in-law, Yvonne Oswald; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J.; son-in-law, Robert; and siblings, Anna Mae Bengard and Louis Oswald.
Mrs. Bailey graduated from Providence High School in 1945. She had been a resident of Lombard from 1954 to 2003 and of West Chicago for seven years, and had worked for Wieboldt’s Department Store in Lombard. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church in Lombard.

Paul Brust II

Paul W. Brust II, 59, of Melrose Park, died Thursday, April 15, at Loyola University Hospital in Maywood.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 19, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Oakridge Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Brust is survived by his sons, Paul W. III, Sean and Andre; three grandchildren; sister, Mary E. (Carl) Keller; a niece and nephew; and many cousins.
Mr. Brust spent his entire life in Melrose Park and attended Proviso East High School. He was a huge Cubs fan.

Clarence Dalke

Clarence A. “Pete” Dalke, of St. Charles, died Monday, April 12, at Brighton Gardens in St. Charles.
A memorial gathering was held Tuesday, April 20, at DuPage Memorial Chapel in West Chicago, where military rites were accorded.
Mr. Dalke is survived by his children, Gary (Donna) and Linda (partner Sheryl Jordan); and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; and five brothers and one sister.
Mr. Dalke was a former resident of Lombard for 56 years.
Memorials will be put toward the purchase of a memorial tree in Lombard Common park.
Arrangements were made by DuPage Cremation Society.

David Davies

David M. Davies, 75, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Lombard, died Friday, April 16, at Loyola University Hospital in Maywood.
Funeral services are being held today, April 21, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment is private.
Mr. Davies is survived by his wife of 50 years, LaVeda; children, Ketra (Bob) Pauley, Chris “Kristy” (Grant) McGrenera, Cathy Curtis and Tom (Alina); 12 grandchildren; sisters, Sarah (Bill) Hogoboom and Jean (Farnsley) Peters; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ava; and brother, John.
Mr. Davies was a veteran of the U.S. Army, had been a resident of Venice for 22 years and had formerly resided in Lombard for 25 years. He retired as senior educator from IBM in 1984, and owned and operated Davies Coins & Rocks in Lombard for many years. He was an avid antique collector and clocksmith.

Ellin Kazele

Ellin M. Kazele, 65, of Villa Park, died Saturday, April 10.
A memorial service was held Saturday, April 17, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Villa Park.
Mrs. Kazele is survived by her children, Vanessa (Jimmy) Stalcup, Kristin (Jeffrey) Esch and Jill (the late Gary) Koeninger; four grandchildren; five cousins; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank.
Arrangements were made by Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.

Mikayla King

Mikayla J. King, 19 months, of Hinckley, died Sunday, April 18, at Loyola University Hospital in Maywood.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 22, at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 S. Princeton, Villa Park.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 23, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mikayla is survived by her parents, Bryant and Jennifer of Hinckley, formerly of Villa Park; siblings, Dakota and Elijah McKeown and Kiera King; grandfathers, Michael Ward and John King; grandmothers, Carol Ward, Amy McKeown and Bridget King; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated.

Justin Kreml

Justin J. Kreml, 19, of Lombard, died suddenly Thursday, April 15, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
A memorial gathering was held Monday, April 19, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private.
Mr. Kreml is survived by his father, John (Debbie); mother, Sandi Zelkoff; siblings, Jason Ketelaar and Sasha Ketelaar; grandparents, Frank and Cathie Kreml and Patricia Daniels; three nieces and nephews; uncles, Joe (Eve) Kreml, Jeff (Shelly) Kreml and Danny Zelkoff; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Peter Zelkoff.
Mr. Kreml graduated from Glenbard East High School in 2009. He loved music, video games, skateboarding and street hockey. He also loved spending time with family and friends and was truly a fun, caring young man.

Rose Martorelli

Rose Marie Martorelli, nee Licuora, 70, of Glen Ellyn, formerly of Lombard, died Sunday, April 18, at GlenOaks Hospital in Glendale Heights.
Funeral services and interment were private.
Mrs. Martorelli is survived by her children, Salvatore III, Angela Lonergan and Lu Ann (John) Risden; two grandchildren; sisters, Josephine (Tony) Caporale of Villa Park and Louis Caporale; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Salvatore; and brother-in-law, Jim Caporale.
Mrs. Martorelli was a resident of Lombard for 20 years.
Arrangements were made by Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.

Marie Prosek

Marie M. Prosek, nee Svoboda, 99, of Florida, formerly of Lombard and Villa Park, died Friday, April 16, in Florida.
Visitation will be today, April 21, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Church in Lombard. Interment is at Assumption Cemetery in Winfield.
Mrs. Prosek is survived by her children, Edward James Jr. (Joyce) and Marilyn C.; daughter-in-law, Anna Prosek; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J.; sons, Charles L. and Donald H. (the late Trilby); and three brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Prosek had lived in Lombard for 29 years and was a resident of Florida for 27 years. She was one of the founding families of St. Pius X Church and had been a member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis. She was formerly active with the prayer group and Adoration Society at Blessed Trinity Church in Ocala, Fla., and was a member of AARP.

Alan Schoen

Alan A. Schoen, 49, of Naperville, formerly of Lombard, died Monday, April 12, in Naperville.
A memorial gathering was held Friday, April 16, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private.
Mr. Schoen is survived by his wife, Kimberly Brakrog-Schoen; son, Kyle; siblings, John (Donna), Debra, Donna and Christine Abbatte; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Schoen was a resident of Naperville for 20 years and was formerly of Lombard. He was a 1979 graduate of Glenbard East High School and was a member of Local #265 Sheet Metal Workers.
