Anita Banks


Anita Kondrat Banks, 79, of Lombard, died Sunday, April 25, at DuPage County Convalescent Center in Wheaton.
Funeral services are being held today, April 28, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Church in Lombard. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Banks is survived by her children, Paul Kondrat and Alyse Kondrat. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lawrence Kondrat and Benjamin Banks; brother, Eugene Bocian; and sister, Lorraine (Carl) Holmgren.
Mrs. Banks was a longtime resident of Lombard.

Ralph Bidne

Funeral services for Ralph A. Bidne, 79, formerly of Frankfort, were held Saturday, April 24, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mr. Bidne is survived by his wife, Signe; children, Kenneth A. (Rose), David (Karen) and Karen; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Dennis Brogan

A memorial visitation and service for Dennis M. Brogan, 61, of Lombard, will be held Sunday, May 2, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Mr. Brogan is survived by his wife, Camille; children, Anthony (Carin) and Julie (Carl) Whaling; two grandchildren; brother, John (Bridet) Brogan; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.

Kathleen Clarke

A memorial service for Kathleen Clarke, 68, formerly of Lombard, will be held Saturday, May 1, at Calvary Episcopal Church in Lombard.
Mrs. Clarke is survived by her son, Frank R.; one granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Brian, Daniel, Terrance O’Leary and Lynn Kaplan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.

Shirley Horn

Shirley A. Horn, nee Schalkey, 76, of Lombard, died Thursday, April 22, at Elmhurst Extended Care in Elmhurst.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 2, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 8, at Calvary Episcopal Church in Lombard. Interment is private.
Mrs. Horn is survived by her children, Keith (Catherine), Laura (Tim) Kolzow, Bill and John; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; and brother, Jack Schalkey.
Mrs. Horn was a resident of Lombard since 1978. She was a graduate of Austin High School in Chicago and had been active at Calvary Episcopal Church in Lombard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Calvary Episcopal Church, 105 W. Maple St., Lombard, IL 60148, would be appreciated.

Donna Kroening

The memorial service for Donna Kroening (nee Gregory), 58, will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 114 S. Elizabeth St., Lombard, on Saturday, May 8, at 10 a.m.
Born on June 7, 1951, in Chicago, she died Wednesday, April 20, 2010, surrounded by her children at Rainbow Hospice ARC in Park Ridge, Ill.
Donna is survived by her mother, Jeanette Gregory (nee Mulvanny); her children, Michael (Tracy) Kroening, Kelley (Marc) Wood and Blake (Kelly) Kroening; sister, Laura Thomas, brother, William Gregory, and sister, Julie Eaglesham; sister-in-law, Kathy (Thomas) Palmer; many nieces and nephews; and she was the proud “Manya” to her four grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Michael L. Kroening; and father, Oliver W. Gregory Jr.
Someone said that it’s not about the years in your life but the life in your years. Donna filled her life with her family. She loved fishing in Minnesota and Wisconsin, beach walking in Florida and mountain gazing in Colorado. She was an avid reader and shopper, loving a good sale. Her cheery disposition, beautiful smile and infectious laugh will always be cherished.

Angelica Nordby

A memorial visitation for Angelica M. Nordby, 18, of Villa Park, is being held today, April 28, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
A memorial Mass will be held Thursday, April 29, at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park. Interment is private.
Ms. Nordby was the daughter of the late Gretchen Mirdana; granddaughter of James and Mary Nordby; sister of Marco and Roque Miranda; niece of Aric and Kurtis Nordby; great-niece of many; great-granddaughter of Erika (the late Kazimierz) Klich and Madge (the late Harold) Nordby; and many cousins.

Thelma Wall

Thelma L. Wall, nee Concannon, 89, of Lombard, died Thursday, April 22, in Park Ridge.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 26, from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lombard, with the Rev. Peter Jarosz officiating. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Wall is survived by her son, Larry J. (Nancy Alexander); one grandchild; one great-grandchild; sister, Sharon (Jerry) Greer; one nephew; two great-nephews and a great-niece; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry J.
Mrs. Wall had been a dance instructor.

Joanna H. Young

Joanna H. Young, 80, of Naperville, formerly of Lombard, died Thursday, April 22, in Naperville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 27, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Naperville. Interment was private.
Mrs.  Young is survived by her husband of 58 years, Thomas J.; children, Thomas (Sandy), James (Pamela), Timothy (Diane), Andrew (Tania), Matthew, Margaret (Robert) Kremkow and Suzanne Gilmartin; and 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret; and sister, Marlaine (Hugh) Williams.
