Peggy Cassidy


Peggy J. Cassidy, nee McKeown, 57, of Silvis, Ill., formerly of Villa Park, died Wednesday, July 28, in Silvis.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 2, at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 S. Princeton, Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mrs. Cassidy is survived by her son, Jesse; one grandson; mother, Dorothy McKeown; siblings, Dawn Hutchinson, Amy McKeown, Tracy (Phil) Brecking, Terry, Roger, George (Toni), Rory (Sheila) and Andrew; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph.
Mrs. Cassidy attended Willowbrook High School and had worked at Honey Baked Ham in the area.

Elsie Gara

A memorial service for Elsie A. Gara, 78, of Villa Park, was held Thursday, July 29, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mrs. Gara is survived by her children, Glenn (Susan), Alan (Andrea) and Laurie (Dave) Kraft; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Gregory Lucado

Gregory Lucado, 53, of Chicago, formerly of Lombard, died Tuesday, July 27, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 31, at Brust Funeral Home 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines.
Mr. Lucado was the son of Marie; brother of Scott (Irene) and Stuart of Lombard; uncle of three; nephew of six; grandson of Hazel Lucado; and friend of many. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray C. Lucado; and grandparents, William Lucado and Claire and Edward Santiago.
Mr. Lucado was born in Chicago and grew up in Lombard. He graduated from Lombard Junior High School, Glenbard East High School in 1975 and Loyola University in 1992 with a B.S. in Computer Science. He was a former vice president of Northern Trust Co. in Chicago and retired in 2007 after 17 years. He traveled in Europe and the Caribbean, and was just back from St. Maarten. He loved computers, was a big Cubs fan, loved music and loved the USA.
Memorials to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital would be appreciated.

Leonard Mueller

Leonard W. Mueller, 88, of Elgin, formerly of Lombard, died Monday, July 26, at Suncoast Hospice House of Brookside in Palm Harbor, Fla.
Funeral services were held  Monday, Aug. 2, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Elgin. Entombment was at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.
Mr. Mueller is survived by his children, Louann, Linda (Thomas) Grosse and Leonard II (Sandy); five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marie Mueller; wife of 62 years, Rosemary; and siblings, Joe, Ed, Jack, Marie and Eleanor.
Mr. Mueller was born in Peru, Ill., and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II, concluding his tour of duty as a lieutenant JG. He graduated from Illinois State University in Normal and taught high school and coached for several years in Streator, Ill. He then went to Lombard, where he served many years as principal of Lombard Junior High School.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Suncoast Hospice Foundation (for Brookside), 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760, would be appreciated.

Robert Renshaw, Ph.D.

Robert H. Renshaw, Ph.D., 75, of Lombard, died Monday, July 26, at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
A memorial Mass was held Thursday, July 29, in the Paul V. Galvin Memorial Chapel at Loyola University Hospital. Interment was private.
Dr. Renshaw is survived by his wife, Domeena, M.D.; and siblings, Thomas Renshaw and Judith Minton.
Dr. Renshaw resided in Lombard since 1968. He received his degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and was a professor of economics at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb from 1968-99.

Louise Zuegel

Louise Kathryn Zuegel, nee Albright, 97, of Lombard, died Friday, July 30, at Lexington Square in Lombard.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Lexington Square in Lombard. A private graveside service was held Tuesday, Aug. 3.
Mrs. Zuegel was the aunt of Leslie (David) Striker, Timothy (Donna), Michael (Nancy) and Dr. Jack (Barbara) Livermore; and of many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph, whom she married in 1935; parents, William and Myrtle Albright; brothers, Forbes, Louis and William Albright; sister-in-law, Gertrude Livermore; and nephew, Robert Livermore.
Mrs. Zuegel was born in New Jersey and grew up in Chicago, where she attended Rosary College. She worked at her parents’ restaurant, Albright’s in Forest Park, for 35 years, and after it closed in the 1960s, she volunteered at Hines Veterans Hospital and helped her nephew, Robert Livermore, with his floral business. She and her husband moved to Lombard in the 1970s.
