Katherine Fiebrandt


Katherine A. Fiebrandt, nee Roth, 79, of Winfield, formerly of Lombard, died Monday, July 12, in Winfield.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 16, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private.
Mrs. Fiebrandt is survived by her husband of 60 years, James E.; children, Karen (Dan) Liddicoatt, James R. (Bonnie) of Lombard and Sandy (Bruce) Hootman; seven grandchildren; sister, Mary (Daniel) Czubak; brother-in-law, Robert (Loretta) Fiebrandt; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Fiebrandt was a resident of Winfield for four years and was formerly of Lombard for 39 years. She grew up in Villa Park and was a 1948 graduate of York High School. She had worked for Illinois Bell, McDonald’s and also for White Pine Heating in Villa Park. She belonged to the Sunshine Sams Camping Club and was an avid camper. She and her future husband had their first date on April Fools Day.

Phyllis Holtmeyer

Phyllis E. Holtmeyer, nee Kelley, 78, of Lombard, died Wednesday, July 14, at Burgess Square in Westmont.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 16, at St. Pius X Church in Lombard. Interment was at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.
Mrs. Holtmeyer is survived by her husband, Harold H.; children, Kathleen Schulkins of Lombard, Richard (Roxane) Schulkins and Dennis (Marianne) Schulkins; stepdaughters, Ruth (Skip) Hoffman and Annette (Greg) Pugnetti; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Dr. Jack Kelley, Dr. Michael (Eileen) Kelley and Ellen (Walter) Gajcak; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard A. Schulkins and Erwin H. Behrens; and sister-in-law, Barbara Kelley.
Mrs. Holtmeyer was born in Chicago to Philip and Ellen Kelley, and moved to York Center where she attended St. Alexander’s grade school in Villa Park, and graduated from York High School in Elmhurst in 1949. She lived all her adult life in Lombard, primarily as a homemaker, spending winters for the past 10 years in Venice, Fla.
She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church for over 50 years and will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and good and valued friend.
Arrangements were made by Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.

Charles Rohde

Charles F. “Chuck” Rohde, 70, of Lombard, died Saturday, July 17, at Hinsdale Hospital in Hinsdale.
Funeral services are being held today, July 21, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lombard. Interment is at Bethania Cemetery in Justice.
Mr. Rohde is survived by his wife, Mary C.; children, Charles A. (Susan), Jason V. and Brooke C. (Scott Shields) Rohde; six grandchildren; sister, Dianne Rohde; mother-in-law, Deloris Kohlstedt of Lombard; and many other relatives.
Mr. Rohde was a resident of Lombard for nine years and was formerly of Arlington Heights and Virginia. He was born in Hammond, Ind., were he was a graduate of Hammond High School. He attended Valparaiso and was a graduate of Indiana University, and had served in the U.S. Navy from 1957-60.
Mr. Rohde had retired from JJ Haines in North Carolina after working as a credit manager and had formerly worked for Reynolds Metals in Park Ridge and Robert Shaw Controls in Richmond, Va. He loved baseball and hockey, had been a baseball coach, loved old-time radio and had over 10,000 hours of old-time radio. He loved his grandchildren and watching sports with them.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Family Tree (an agency and shelter for battered woman and children), 3805 Marshall St., #200, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033; or Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 350 E. Madison, Lombard, IL 60148, would be appreciated.

Jacquelyn R. Sladek

Jacquelyn R. Sladek, nee Zeigler, of Lombard, died Monday, July 12, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 17, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights.
Mrs. Sladek is survived by her children, Mark (Libby Henderson), Ruth (H. Thomas) Storey and Jan (Michael) Waas of Lombard; nine grandchildren; and sister, Shirley R. Bak of Lombard. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R.; sister, Ella Linscott; and parents, Eugene and Anna Zeigler.
Mrs. Sladek was a resident of Lombard for over 75 years and was a 1950 graduate of Proviso East High School. She was a member of the Republican Women’s Club and was a former election judge.
Memorials to the American Lung Association, 150 N. Wacker, Suite 2360, Chicago, IL 60606; or St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 215 S. Lincoln, Lombard, IL 60148, would be appreciated.

Vincent Trupia

Visitation for Vincent Trupia will be held Thursday, July 22, at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301 75th St., Downers Grove.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 23, with prayers from the funeral home to Mass at Notre Dame Church in Clarendon Hills. Interment is at Clarendon Hills Cemetery.
Mr. Trupia is survived by his wife, Patti Colby; children, Salvatore and Emily; mother, Vincenza; siblings, Sue (Ron) Shankle and Rose (Dan) Sheridan; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Salvatore.
Mr. Trupia was the owner of Hair on Westmore in Lombard.

Margaret Vostal

Margaret F. Vostal, nee McGrath, 89, of Oak Brook, died Friday, July 16, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 20, at Ascension of Our Lord Church in Oakbrook Terrace. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Vostal is survived by her children, James (Mary), Susan (Gene) King and Stephen; daughter-in-law, Corrine; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her children, Terrance and Charles.
