Rhonda Bloom

Rhonda M. Bloom, 41, of Lombard, died suddenly Monday, Nov. 8, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 12, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Arlington Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Ms. Bloom is survived by her mother, Patricia Benoit; sisters, Michelle (Richard) Poppe and Jennifer (Jerry) Billen; 11 nieces and nephews; four aunts; stepfather, Mark Benoit; and grandmother, Barbara Rankin.
Ms. Bloom grew up in Kenosha, Wis., and attended high school there. She resided in Lombard for six years and in Glen Ellyn for five years. She was formerly of Chicago.

Esther Dent

Esther F. Dent, nee Finn, 91, formerly of Villa Park, died Monday, Nov. 15.
Visitation and funeral services will be today, Nov. 17, at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 S. Princeton, Villa Park. Interment is private.
Mrs. Dent is survived by her children, Barbara (Warren) Stiska, Donna (Stanley) Boyd of Wheaton and Patricia (James) Zettinger; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip; parents and four sisters and brothers.
Mrs. Dent was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Villa Park for over 50 years.

Gerald Emmons

Gerald R. Emmons, 72, of Lombard, died Monday, Nov. 8, in Lombard.
A memorial Mass will be held and interment is private.
Mr. Emmons is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children, Kenneth, Michael, Carolyn Tretina and Patricia (Brian Felton) Allen; eight grandchildren; and sister, Patty (John) Kieffer. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne.
Mr. Emmons was a resident of Lombard for 22 years, Glendale Heights for 15 years and was formerly of Chicago. He was a member of Teamster Local #705 and had worked 20 years for Ryerson Steel and 16 years for P.T.O. as a semi-truck driver. He had served as a volunteer fireman in Glendale Heights for nine years from 1973-83 and was a former member of Eagles Area #1606 Aurora.

Peter Kurasz Jr.

Peter Kurasz Jr., 59, of Villa Park, died Wednesday, Nov. 10.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 15, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mr. Kurasz is survived by his wife, Jean; children, Michelle (Matthew) Storck, Peter III, Nicholas and Aaron; father, Peter Sr. (the late Marian); five grandchildren; siblings, Richard (Barbara), Beverly Johnston, Michael (Diane) and Nicholas; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kurasz was the owner of Jim’s Pet World in Villa Park.
In lieu of flowers, family memorials would be appreciated.

LaVergne Lucchesi

LaVergne Lillian Lucchesi 85, of Clarks Green, Penn., formerly of Villa Park, Ill., died Friday, Nov. 12, at home.
She was the beloved widow of the late Albert Lucchesi; the couple were married over 60 years. She is survived by her two children; Lawrence (Mary Kay) Lucchesi, St. Charles, Ill., and Gayle (Larry) Snell, Clarks Green, Penn.; grandchildren, Michael Snell, Bealeton, Va., Andrew Snell, Seneca, S.C., Keri Mayer, Niles, Mich., and Jodee Webb, St. Charles, Ill.; and four great-grandchildren. She was loved by many nieces and nephews.
Born in Lombard, Ill., Mrs. Lucchesi was the daughter of the late Charles and the late Lillian (Mendlik) Schroeder. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Calvin and twin brother Charles Schroeder.
A 1942 graduate of York High School, Elmhurst, Ill., she was employed by the Wander Co. (Ovaltine Products), Villa Park, Ill. She later enjoyed being a homemaker, neighborhood mom and an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Mrs. Lucchesi was a member of St. Alexander's Church in Villa Park and of the Sweet Adelines (Parkette Chapter). An active volunteer, she was a Cub Scout leader, PTA mother, a member of the Elmhurst American Legion Auxiliary Post 187, and most recently the Joseph W. Hall Memorial Auxiliary to the Clarks Summit Fire Company, No. 1 Inc.
A memorial service will be held in December followed by internment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Ill., where she will join her beloved husband.

Mario Molinaro

Mario Molinaro, 87, died Friday, Nov. 12, at Sunrise Senior Living Center in Lombard.
A memorial Mass was held Tuesday, Nov. 16, at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park.
Mr. Molinaro is survived by his wife, Marie, whom he married in 1944; children, Carol Newlin, John (Julie) and Tom (Joyce); six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ida (Louis) Seno and Lou (Janet) Molinaro.
Mr. Molinaro was a veteran of World War II, having served as a Coast Guard seaman aboard the troop transfer Ship USS General William Mitchell, carrying the troops to the European and Japanese theaters. In 1989, he retired from Hart Schaffner & Marx after 50 years of service and moved to Sebring, Fla., returning to Lombard in December 2009.

Jennie Oldenburger

Jennie Oldenburger, nee Tameling, of Lombard, died Friday, Nov. 12, in Lombard.
Visitation will be held today, Nov. 17, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Nov. 18, at Fountain of Life Church in Lombard, with the Rev. John Cross officiating. Interment is private.
Mrs. Oldenburger is survived by her children, Barbara J. (Bernie) Dunnewold, Thomas Jr. (Joseph V. Fabio), Ruth E. (the late Dr. Ronald) Rottschafer and Debra (Dale) Torringa; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Sr.

Joanne Olichwier

Joanne L. Olichwier, nee Kusmider, 61, of Lombard, died Saturday, Nov. 13, in Lombard.
A memorial gathering will be held today, Nov. 17, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment is private.
Mrs. Olichwier is survived by her husband, Timothy; children, Kelly (Edward) Deal, Kristin of Lombard, Daniel of Villa Park and Eric of Villa Park; and sister, Joyce (Glen) Smith.
Mrs. Olichwier was an avid gardener and decorator. She loved all things French, was a movie buff, loved HGTV and loved her two dogs, Franklin and Eleanor.
