Don Behrendt

Don Behrendt, 78, of Lombard since 1960, died Wednesday, April 13.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 18, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mr. Behrendt is survived by his wife of 53 years, Christine; children, John (Ann Marie) of Lombard, Jennifer (Rex) Irby and Mary Frances (Eric) Reutzel; seven grandchildren; sister, Patricia (Phil) Kroncke; sister-in-law, Mania Pavlos; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Beatrice Behrendt; brother, Edward (Judy) Manning; and sister, Jeanne Ingram.
Mr. Behrendt was born Gordon Joseph Behrendt, and grew up on the West Side of Chicago. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the 7th Infantry Division, 31st Regiment, East Company. He enjoyed working for the Lombard Park District for over 24 years and retired as the superintendent of the maintenance department. He loved to work alongside his men, physically planting hundreds of trees and thousands of tulips, building the toboggan hill at Sunset Knoll, dragging baseball fields and snowplowing ice skating ponds.
He loved being out-of-doors, goose hunting, bicycling with his friend, the opera and especially spending time with his grandchildren—reading to them and enjoying their musical concerts and baseball games. He was known for being a hard-working, warm, caring, thoughtful and generous man who was respected by all who had the privilege to know him.

Jean Brzezinski

Jean A. Brzezinski, nee Sikorski, 92, of West Chicago, formerly of Lombard, died Sunday, April 10, in West Chicago.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 16, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Church in Lombard. Interment was at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice.
Mrs. Brzezinski is survived by her sister, Lillian Szmurlo; and sisters-in-law, Vivian Stratton and Lillian Sikorski Gardner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; siblings, Edward (the late Mary) Starnowski, Chester Stratton, Roman (the late Therese) Sikorski, Louis Sikorski and Sylvia (the late Leon) Gralewski; and brother-in-law, Adam Edwin Szmurlo.

Sherly Caeiro

Funeral services for Sherly “Sandra” Caeiro, 46, of Lombard, are being held today, April 20, from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, to Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Caeiro is survived by her husband, Sam; children, Shawn and Stacy; siblings, Savio Silva Lobo and Annie Silva Lobo; mother, Filomina Lobo; sister-in-law, Salomy (Sanford) Mazarelo; mother-in-law, Josephine Caeiro; and three nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Hamilton Silva Lobo; and father-in-law, Marcus Caeiro.

Joseph Cimaglia

Funeral services for Joseph C. Cimaglia, of Lombard, were held Monday, April 18, from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Church in Lombard. Interment was private.
Mr. Cimaglia is survived by his wife of 30 years, Julie; children, Whitney (fiancé Erik); Kendall and Taylor; parents, Pasquale “Pat” and Bonnie; siblings, Debbie (Mark) Duski, Lori, Pat (Lana), Kathy Labadessa, and John (Sandy); mother-in-law, Millie Teplan; brother-in-law, Jeff (Tonya) Teplan; and was an uncle, cousin, nephew and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his sister, Annamarie Replogle; and father-in-law, Laddie Teplan.

Bradley A. Ebbert died Saturday, April 16, in Florida.

Lawrence Giannini

Lawrence J. Giannini, 94, of Lombard, died Thursday, April 14, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 18, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment was at St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove.
Mr. Giannini is survived by his children, Larry H. (Susan), Louise R. Fromer of Lombard, Lorraine A. (Jerry) Schwarzkopf, Daniel L. (Barbara Ann) and Linda M. (Norman) Duddridge of Lombard; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Louis; many nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Jeanette DeVries of Lombard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice D.; and two brothers and one sister.
Mr. Giannini was a resident of Lombard for 60 years. He retired from Giannini Music Center in Chicago, where he taught accordion and guitar. He was a member of the International Musicians Union and the Chicago Federation of Musicians, and was a stained-glass artist.

S. Harriet Lovig

S. Harriet Lovig, 93, of Lombard, died Saturday, April 16, at Lexington Health Care in Lombard.
Visitation and funeral services are being held today, April 20, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment is private.
Mrs. Lovig is survived by her daughter, Joanne; and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C.; and sister, Catherine (the late Buff) Buffington.
Mrs. Lovig was an accomplished soloist and was a member of the Austin Congregational Church Women’s Group. She was a former Girl Scout leader and a former Sunday school teacher, a former member of the Parkette Chapter of Sweet Adelines, and was a past member of the Lombard Service League.

Adeline Kufrin

Adeline Kufrin passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2011, in Escondido, Calif.
A graveside memorial service was held on Friday, April 15, at Oakhill Cemetery in Escondido.
Adeline is survived by two children, Laura F. (John) Wojnicki and Timothy P. (Susan) Kufrin; five grandchildren, Todd (Vicki) Wojnicki, Aaron (Stephanie) Wojnicki, David (Hannah) Wojnicki, Andrea (Brian) Sanders, and Kari Kufrin; and nine great-grandchildren, Jake, Megan, and Cameron Wojnicki, Kate, Luke, and Daniel Wojnicki, Elle and Adeline Wojnicki, and Nolan Sanders.
Born July 19, 1923 in Chicago, Ill., she was a longtime resident of Lombard, Ill., from 1954 to 2003 prior to moving to Escondido. She was the widow of former village trustee Paul Kufrin Jr. and dedicated volunteer at Elmhurst Hospital.

Karin Pillsbury

Karin A. Pillsbury, nee Pohla, 73, of Villa Park, died Friday, April 15.
Visitation was held Monday, April 18, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Mrs. Pillsbury is survived by her husband, Donald; children, Anne (Shawn) Connelly and William; and four grandchildren.

Robert Raymond

Robert Eric Raymond, 48, of Midland, Mich., formerly of Lombard, died suddenly Sunday, April 17, in Ft. Myers, Fla.
Arrangements are pending with Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Mr. Raymond is survived by his wife, Deborah K.; sons, Christopher (Brandi), U.S. Army, and Michael; mother and stepfather, Marcia H. (Raymond) Norton of Lombard; sisters, Cynthia J. (Christopher) Meehan, Patricia (Edward) Bolton, Terri Newman and Nancy (Gregory) Beltrame of Lombard; and 13 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Raymond.
Mr. Raymond was born in 1962 and spend most of his life in Lombard.  He was a graduate of Hammerschmidt Elementary School and a 1980 graduate of Glenbard East High School. He worked for several Chicago-area roofing contractors and roofing inspection firms before opening his own roof consulting firm, Roof Raymond Co. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, darts and playing poker.

Arthur Schoop

Arthur Conrad Schoop, 88, of Glen Ellyn, died Wednesday, March 27, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
A memorial service and interment are planned for Friday, May 27, at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home (Hippach Chapel), 17W201 Roosevelt Road (1 block west of Route 83), Oakbrook Terrace.
Mr. Schoop is survived by his children, Stephen (Darby), Cynthia (Gerald) Johnson and Linda Schoop; five grandchildren, Tara (Kevin) Corral, Ryan and Erin Schoop, and Zak and Zoe Johnson; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura; and brother, Edward Schoop.
Mr. Schoop was born April 3, 1922, in Dubuque, Iowa, and founded A.C. Products in Lombard with his late wife.
