Rosetta Caldarulo

Rosetta Caldarulo, nee Turi, 83, of Lombard, died Thursday, Dec. 15, in Glendale Heights.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 20, with the Rev. Tom Corbino officiating. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Caldarulo is survived by her children, Maria (Gino) Stea, Antonio (Sallie), Graziella and Annabella; four grandchildren; siblings, Tony (Rose) Turi, Michael (Lella) Turi, Angelo (Stella) Turi and Joseph (Maria) Turi; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Giuseppe “Joseph”; and siblings, Vito (Anna) Turi and Anna (the late Alberto Turi.
Mrs. Caldarulo was a homemaker.
Memorials to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Midwest Chapter, Central DuPage Hospital Care Center, 1800 N. Main St., Suite 215, Wheaton, IL 60187, would be appreciated.

Richard Collins

Richard N. Collins, 93, of Lexington Square of Lombard, has passed away.
He is survived by his daughters, Julie Ackerman and Dale (Harlan) Krafft; and his son Ken (Lynn) Collins;  and was the dear grandfather of Lori, Mark, Jill, Kerry, Nick, Ari and Sarah; loving great-grandfather of 15; and loving brother of the late Dan and Mary (the late Boyd) Hubbard of Virginia. He was the beloved husband of the late Jewel G., nee Rinehart.
Mr. Collins was a World War II Army veteran.

Frank Contri

Funeral services for Frank J. Contri, 90, of Villa Park, were held Tuesday, Dec. 20, at St. Alexander Catholic Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mr. Contri is survived by his children, Robert F., John J. (Lynn) and Patricia (Robert) Ciston; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; grandson, Gabriel; and siblings, Albert (Jean) and Ann (Martin) Zidron.

Richard Fuentes

Funeral services for Richard Fuentes, 79, of Elmhurst, were held Sunday, Dec. 18, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mr. Fuentes is survived by his children, Sarah (Kristofer) Hasman and Richard A.; one grandchild; and four siblings. He was preceded in death by one sibling.
Mr. Fuentes was the owner of Piano Transports of Villa Park.

Wilbur Louthan Jr.

Wilbur L. “Bill” Louthan Jr., 88, of Lombard, died Friday, Dec. 16, at Manorcare in Hinsdale.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 20, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lombard. Interment was at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Mr. Louthan is survived by his wife, Joyce R.; children, Carrie (Joe Jaruseski) of Lombard, David (Margaret), Jeff, Janese (Steven) Nank; Jeanette and Joy Petrey; eight grandchildren; five sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Louthan was a resident of Lombard since 1959. He attended Ebinger Grammar School, Taft High School and the Illinois Institute of Technology. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, where he piloted a C47 on nine combat missions in the Eastern Theatre operations, including Ardennes, Central Europe and Rhineland.
After World War II, he served as an air traffic controller and then a pilot for North Central Airlines-Republic Airlines from May 1954 to November 1983. As a World War II veteran, he spoke at the Lombard Common park Memorial Day commemoration. He was a member of the Friends of the McChord Air Museum in Washington, D.C., and the Airline Pilots Association.

William Peters

William H. Peters, 71, of Lombard, died Monday, Dec. 19, at Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 22, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Mr. Peters is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra; daughters, Karyn and Christine (Doug) Delaney-Stewart; four grandchildren; siblings, Kathy (Bill) Oelhafen, Mary (Larry) Kozien and James; and many other family and friends.
Mr. Peters was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a diehard Cubs and Bears fan.

Robert Prinzing

Robert Fred Prinzing, 87, died Friday, Dec. 16.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 19, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Arlington Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mr. Prinzing is survived by his children, Gayle (Robert) Lasky, Judith (Mark) Turek and Thomas (Jane); 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Fred (Anita) and Peggy (the late Miles) French. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet F., whom he married in 1950; and siblings, Vickie (Harry) Buerer and Herb (Lois).
Mr. Prinzing was born in Elmhurst to Fred William and Victoria Bell Prinzing. He served in the U.S. Navy during War War II in England, graduated from Wheaton Academy in 1941, Wheaton College in 1950 and National College of Education in Evanston with a master’s degree. He taught school for 32 years in School District 45 at Washington School, Jackson Junior High School, Jefferson Junior High School and Ardmore School. He also worked part-time at the Villa Park Post Office for 25 years. He was an active member of Harvard Avenue Bible Church in Villa Park.

Robert Sear

Funeral services for Robert C. Sear, 90, of Carol Stream, were held Saturday, Dec. 17, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Mt. Emblem Cemetery.
Mr. Sear is survived by his wife, Ruth; children, Robert C. Jr. (Barbara), Richard and Carolyn (Jeff) Curtis; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, June (Roy) Chute; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara (Fred) Denny.
Mr. Sear was formerly of Villa Park and was the owner of Sear Insurance Agency in Villa Park. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.

Ramona Thoma

Funeral services for Ramona K. “Mona” Thoma, nee King, 83, of Villa Park, are being held today, Dec. 21, at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park. Interment is Thursday, Dec. 22, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Mrs. Thoma is survived by her husband, James H.; children, Kathy (Jim Stittsworth) and Jim; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; sister, Joan Staven; sister-in-law, Harryett King; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harriet and David King.
Mrs. Thoma was born and raised in Madison, Wis., and graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1951 with a degree in political science. She taught history and social studies at St. Pius X School in Lombard for 20 years and was a member of the Elmhurst Hospital Guild and Village Garden Club of Villa Park.
