Cecilia C. Bestwina

Cecelia C. Bestwina, age 63, of Lombard, died Jan. 7 at home. A Memorial Gathering will be held today, Jan. 12, from 3-7 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, IL 60148. Interment is private.
Mrs. Bestwina is survived by two daughters, Brook Ann Bestwina and Blaire Joan (David) Gibson; her ex-husband, David Richard Bestwina; a brother, Edward (Diane) Plocek; and her parents, Edward and Sylvia Plocek.
Mrs. Bestwina was born in Berwyn, Ill., and was known as C.C. to everyone. She was a resident of Lombard for almost 40 years. C.C. took great pleasure in cooking. It was her passion. From baking for the Lombard Fire Department to making dinner for the family, she did it all. Dinner at her house was always an elaborate display of her culinary ability. She also won many awards for her chili recipe; she was very proud of that. She also loved to read and work on crossword puzzles. She traveled to local libraries then had to expand her travels because she had read all that she could at each place.
She worked for Plunkett Home Furnishing and also won and received numerous outstanding achievement awards for her dedication and tremendous hard work.
Her youngest daughter, Blaire, just had a wedding Oct. 2 and wed David Gibson.

Pearl Gonzalez

Pearl M. Gonzalez, nee Moore, 90, of Lombard, died Sunday, Jan. 9, in Lombard.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 13, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 14, at Lombard Gospel Chapel in Lombard. Interment is at Fairview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by her husband, Mariano Gonzalez V; daughters, Rina (Dr. Alan) Weaver and Pearl Q. (David) Walter; six grandchildren; and six brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Gonzalez was born in Caldwell, Kan., and was a homemaker.

Robert Grass

Robert C. Grass, 95, of Mattoon, Ill., formerly of Lombard, Ill., and Gilbertsville, Ky., died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, in Mattoon.
Graveside services will be held at noon today, Jan. 12, at Concordia Cemetery in Forest Park, Ill.
Mr. Grass is survived by his two children, William (Yolanda) Grass of Mattoon and Christine (Michael) Embree of Ridge Way, Colo.; two brothers, Frank (Mary Jo) Grass of Tennessee and Richard Grass of South Elgin, Ill.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mildred B. Kobow; and one brother and one sister.
Mr. Grass was born in 1915, in Berwyn, Ill., the son of Frank J. and Madelaine S. (Spence) Grass. He was a proud World War II U.S. Army veteran with the 88th Infantry, the Blue Devils, stationed in Italy. He was a retired employee of R.R. Donnelly after 43 years of service.

Elizabeth Hutchinson

Elizabeth M. Hutchinson, nee Bochik, 63, of Villa Park, died Friday, Dec. 31, in Colorado.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 8, at Lombard Assembly of God Church in Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Hutchinson is survived by her son, Jay (Amber) Broughton; two grandchildren; siblings, Catherine (Jon) Loucks, Frank (Cathy) Bochik, Frances Doran and Robert (Terri) Bochik; aunt, Irene Vereb; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents, Frank and Elizabeth Bochik; and uncle, Tom Vereb.
Mrs. Hutchinson was a resident of Villa Park for 20 years.

Audrey Jordan

Audrey A. Jordan, nee Moreau, 79, of Villa Park, died Sunday, Jan. 9.
Visitation and funeral services are being held today, Jan. 12, from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, to Mass at St. John the Apostle Church in Villa Park. Entombment is at Christ the King Mausoleum.
Mrs. Jordan is survived by her husband, Robert J.; children, Aimee (Richard) Saflover, Luke, Robert E. (Angela Westphal) and Kathy.

Chris Paras

Chris G. Paras, 77, of Lombard, formerly of Bellwood, died Monday, Jan. 3, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 5, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, with Deacon Peter Robinson officiating. Interment was private.
Mr. Paras is survived by his wife, Valeree; son, Jeffrey (Nancy) Holst; six grandchildren; and brother, Tony (Arlene) Paras.
Mr. Paras was retired after working as an industrial engineer for Zenith.

Arlene Radeke

Arlene M. Radeke, 83, of Lombard, died Monday, Jan. 3, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 6, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Arlington Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mrs. Radeke is survived by her son, Ken (Kelley); and granddaughter, Mia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer.
Mrs. Radeke grew up in Addison and was a resident of Lombard for over 55 years. She loved traveling, gardening and spending time with her granddaughter. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Villa Park.
