Mary Sharon Barsaloux

Mary Sharon Barsaloux, nee Palmer, age 47, of Lombard, died Wednesday, Jan. 12 in Lombard.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 21, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St. Lombard.
A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, Jan. 22, Sacred Heart Church, 114 S. Elizabeth, Lombard. Interment is private at St. Dominic Cemetery in Wyoming, Ill.
Mrs. Barsaloux is survived by her husband, Gordon; daughter, Sara; parents, Robert and Jo Ann Palmer of Lombard; brother, Thomas Palmer of Lombard; and many other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Barsaloux was a dedicated special education teacher for District 45 for many years.

Ruth Brown

Ruth D. Brown, 85, of Lombard, died Sunday, Jan. 16, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 20, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 21, at the funeral home. Interment is at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband of 60 years, Paul; children, Gail (Wayne) Kaminski and Richard (Cherie); five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Brown was a resident of Lombard for 16 years and was formerly of Melrose Park and Chicago. She loved her family and was a big Packers and Cubs fan.

Jerome Edwards

A memorial visitation for Jerome F. “Jerry” Edwards, 49, of Villa Park, is being held today, Jan. 19, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his sister, Vicky Edwards (John Wager); two nephews and a niece; and friends, Joy and Scott Kenyon and John Morrissey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick L. Jr. and Leona; and brother, Tom Edwards.
Mr. Edwards was a gifted artist and certified diver.

Robert Finkler

Funeral services for Robert C. Finkler, 90, of Villa Park, were held Saturday, Jan. 15, with prayers from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, to Mass at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Mr. Finkler is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children, William R. (Nancy J.), Robert J. (Dawn M.) and Janet (Richard) Marshall; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and was an uncle to many. He was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn (Don) Meier.
Mr. Finkler was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II as a member of the 101st Airborne Division during the Normandy Campaign. He served on General Eisenhower’s staff as an intelligence officer and was the recipient of a Purple Heart.

Marie Hahne

Marie H. Hahne, nee Perschek, 91, of Lombard, died Friday, Jan. 14, at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital in Bolingbrook.
Funeral services are being held today, Jan. 19, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment is at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.
Mrs. Hahne is survived by her children, Keith (Denise), Willy (John) Beach, Debbie (Jim) Hoffman and Denise (Jay) Svehla; son-in-law, G. Ross Ludwig of Lombard; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Al (Sue) Perschek; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold H.; daughter, Judi Ludwig; and two sisters and two brothers.
Mrs. Hahne was a resident of Lombard for over 85 years. Her family was the third to become members of Sacred Heart Parish. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Grade School and Madonna High School in Aurora, and had attended Elmhurst College. She started the Younger Than Ever Club at Sacred Heart and was a member of the glee club at Sacred Heart.
Mrs. Hahne had worked for the Ray Graham Association; as a realtor for Fox Realty in Wheaton; as a bookkeeper for 13 years with Advance Metal Molding; at the family store, Hahne Hardware, located at 29 W. St. Charles Road, Lombard; and at the village hall in Lombard, where she met her husband when he was a policeman.
Mrs. Hahne had been a Girl Scout leader, volunteered for many years of service at the convent at Sacred Heart, was a volunteer for United Way and was a member of the Lombard VFW Women’s Auxiliary.

William Lanphier

Funeral services for William E. Lanphier, 69, formerly of Oak Park and the Western suburbs, were held Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mr. Lanphier is survived by his children, Michele (Tim) Bessette, Stacey (Scott) Kulat and Denise (Robert) Johnson; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Jeffrey T. Ohlerich

Jeffrey T. Ohlerich, 46, of Villa Park, died Friday, Jan. 14 in Elmhurst.
Visitation will be held at Salerno’s Funeral Home in Roselle, 405 W. Lake St. on Thursday, Jan. 20, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. following with the memorial service at 7 p.m.
Mr. Ohlerich is survived by his three children, Crystal (Trent) Roark, Michelle (Andrew) Joiner and Jeffrey Ohlerich Jr.; three grandchildren, Trevor Roark, Travis Roark and Tristan Joiner; mother, Joan Ohlerich; siblings, Jaye Chiodo and John (Terri) Ohlerich; aunt, Judy (Joe) Schelfer and uncle, Sonny (Judy) Meagher; and eight nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur E. Ohlerich.
Mr. Ohlerich was born on April 5 in Berwyn, Ill. and was a mechanic for 26 years. He loved rebuilding cars, spending time with his children and grandchildren and his family.

Milan Petrovich

Milan Petrovich, 84, of Wheaton, formerly of Naperville and Lombard, died Thursday, Jan. 13, in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 17, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard. Interment was private.
Mr. Petrovich is survived by his daughter, Helena “Yelena”; sibling, Dusanka Djordjevich; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sibling, Dusan (Bata) Petrovich.
Mr. Petrovich was born in Belgrade, Serbia, and immigrated to the United States in 1955. He was a mechanical engineer who designed diesel engines, many of which were patented by International Harvester, for which he received recognition. He was a champion cyclist in his youth and was a member of the renowned Belgrade Rowing Club (Red Star).

Mary Jane Scornavacco

Funeral services for Mary Jane Scornavacco, nee Sherry, were held Monday, Jan. 17, from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, to Mass at St. John the Apostle Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Scornavacco is survived by her children, Michael J. Jr. (Anna) and Judy (Jim) Hoffman; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Sr.

Zelma Sullivan

Zelma L. Sullivan, nee Trantina, 93, of Clarendon Hills, died Thursday, Jan. 13, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 17, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her sons, Michael and Mark of Lombard; two grandchildren; siblings, John Trantina and Margaret Walker; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; daughter, Marnia; and two brothers and a sister.
Mrs. Sullivan resided in Clarendon Hills since 1965, and was formerly of Chicago and South Dakota. She retired from Carson Pirie Scott and Co. in Yorktown Shopping Center, was a member of Christ the King Church for 34 years, and was a member of the Ladies of the Elks of Elmhurst lodge #1531 and of the York Township Senior Center.
