Evelyn Duda

Evelyn B. Duda, nee Zelenka, 92, of Lombard, died Saturday, July 23, at DuPage Convalescent Center.
Funeral services are being held today, July 27, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Sacred Heart Church in Lombard. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Duda is survived by her sons, Dennis (Regina) of Lombard and Alan (Kathy); seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Edward (Dot) Zelenka; and son-in-law, Richard Reinecke. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rose Duda; husband, Otto; daughter, Bonnie Reinecke; son, Glen; and sister, Elaine Churchill.
Mrs. Duda loved to crochet, bake, do ceramics and garden. She was an avid reader and a member of the Red Hat Society. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and grandchildren.

Edward Hays

Visitation for Edward B. Hays, 64, of Lombard, will be held today, July 27, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Funeral services and interment are private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Mr. Hays is survived by his wife, Theresa “Teri”; children, Joseph Edward (Sandra), Diana, Julie (Bud) Felichio and John Calabrese; 12 grandchildren; and siblings, Peggy (the late Al) Nelson and Robert (Pat) Hays.

Judith Hohenadel

Visitation and funeral services for Judith A. “Judy” Hohenadel will be held today, July 27, at St. Alexander Church gathering space in Villa Park. Interment is private.
Mrs. Hohenadel is survived by her husband, John; children, Jane (Scott) Billish, Jody (Robert) Wallace and Jill Allen (Craig) Schumacher; three grandchildren; brother, Patrick Sanford; and brother-in-law, Bruce Hohenadel.
Mrs. Hohenadel was a friend to everyone she met.

Henry Jeffrey Jr.

Henry E. Jeffrey Jr., 82, died Wednesday, July 20, with his family at his side and music playing around him.
A memorial visitation and service was held Sunday, July 24, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mr. Jeffrey is survived by his wife of six years, Diane; children, Denise (Sam) Hall, Clint (Therese), Patti (Marty) Ferrarini, Melissa (Will) Morgan and Michael (Chrissy) Trippi; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 47 years, Bernadette; and children, Noreen (Wayne) Baka, Edward and Mona Perez; and parents, Helen and Henry Jeffrey Sr.
Mr. Jeffrey left this world the same way he lived his life—on his own terms.

Dorothy Lynn Jones

Dorothy Lynn “Dee” Jones, age 64, died July 22, 2011, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband of 35 1/2 years, Thomas; was the loving mother of Robert, Victoria (Christopher) Sniegowski, Thomas (Kathleen), David (Jamie), Susan (fiancé TJ); dear daughter of Robert and the late Ruth Karpiel; fond sister of Richard (Kathleen) Karpiel; dear grandmother of Joseph, Nicholas, Kyle and Emma; aunt to Daniel, Lauren and Eddie (Christina); and friend to many.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, IL 60181. Interment was private.
Mrs. Jones was a Villa Park resident for over 40 years. Dee grew up in Melrose Park and Bellwood, Ill. Dee retired after more than 20 years with the Courtyard by Marriott in Elmhurst. Dee was active on many boards at Trinity Lutheran Church for many years. Dee was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She also loved her first and only dog, Lady.

Nancy Kohl

Nancy K. Kohl, nee Kelly, 71, of Lombard, died Sunday, July 17, in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 23, from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Oakbrook Terrace, with the Rev. William Donnelly officiating. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Kohl is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick”; children, Katie (Bryce) Stirlen, Rich (Michele), Sue and Mike (Alana); seven grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Hagenaw and Carol Shields; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kohl was born in Evanston and was a member of the Lombard Junior Women’s Club for over 30 years, where she was a co-founder and president of TLC, a day camp for children with cancer and their siblings.

Mildred Naso

Mildred C. Naso, nee Del Re, 83, of Lombard, died Tuesday, July 19, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 25, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Church in Lombard. Interment was private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Mrs. Naso is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joseph I.; children, Janet (Gary) Kolbe, Mary Ann of Lombard and Joseph P.; one granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews and loving friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Naso was a resident of Lombard since 1963. She grew up in Chicago, was a 1946 graduate of Holden High School in Chicago and had worked at Goldblatt’s, Wieboldt’s and Fannie May.

Linda Rae Anne Rector

Funeral services for Linda Rae Anne Rector, nee Golonsbe, of Roselle for 35 years, were held Thursday and  Friday, July 21-22, at the Countryside Funeral Home 333 S. Roselle Road, Roselle. Interment was at Memory Gardens.
Born June 18, 1953 in Jackson Co., Mo., after battling a long illness with great faith, courage and strength, she was called to heaven’s gates and entered into peaceful rest on Tuesday, July 19, 2011.
Linda was the loving wife of Randy; devoted mother of Matthew; treasured grandmother of Zachary Walter and Madison Rose; beloved daughter of Edmund E. and the late Beatrice Golonsbe (nee Hutcheon); adored sister of Randy Golonsbe; and relative of many loving nieces, nephews and families, cousins and friends. She will also be missed by her faithful friend “Mojo.”

Mary Sloane

Mary J. Sloane, 74, of Lombard, died Saturday, July 23, in Lombard.

Mrs. Sloane is survived by her children, Paul (Kim) of Lombard and Nell; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sloane was a graduate of Quincy College and had taught fifth grade in the Maywood School District for many years. She loved to read and cook and had flown on the Concord twice to Europe.
