Victor Burkhardt Jr.

Victor F. Burkhardt Jr., 83, died Tuesday, May 24.
Services and interment are private through Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Mr. Burkhardt is survived by his son, James; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor F. and Lola Burkhardt; wife, Mary Jane; son, Robert; and sister, Bette Frazier.

Gina Goblet

Gina M. Goblet, nee Dini, 90, of Lombard, died Tuesday, May 24, at Manor Care, Hinsdale.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 27, from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Church in Lombard. Interment was private at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mrs. Goblet is survived by her son, Richard (Jeanne) Sladky; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Goblet and George Sladky; and son, Drake Sladky.
Mrs. Goblet was a former member of Christ the King Church, and had worked at Madigan’s as a retail salesperson. She loved her home in Lombard and enjoyed watching movies and baseball.

Esther McBride

Esther McBride, nee Frank, 81, passed away at home in Lombard on May 22, 2011.
She was a homemaker and worked at North School in Villa Park, Ill., for many years in food service.
Esther, or “Gerri,” as family and friends called her, was a loving wife to Ralph, who passed away in 2006. Their marriage lasted more than 58 years. They had five children: Ralph, Richard (deceased), Robert (wife Amy), Roger (deceased) and Cynthia (husband Joseph). She is survived by seven grandchildren, Jacqueline, Robert, Christina, Julie, Whitney, Ryan and Joseph; two step-grandchildren, Brandon and Alex; and one great-grandchild, David. She was an aunt and great-aunt to many, and was the last member of the Caroline and Vincent Frank family.
Esther was a resident of Lombard for 47 years and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Villa Park, Ill. She was a bright light; her loving, caring and faith were great! There are many like her but none better!!!
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June, 4, at 10 a.m. at St Paul Lutheran Church, 545 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, IL 60181.

Gino Grandenitti

Visitation for Gino C. Grandenitti, 20, of Lombard, will be held Thursday, June 2, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 3, from the funeral home to Mass at St. Alexander Catholic Church in Villa Park. Interment is private.

Ruth McCluskey-Rakowski

Funeral services for Ruth M. McCluskey-Rakowski, nee Walter, 87, formerly of Villa Park, were held Saturday, May 28, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. McCluskey-Rakowski is survived by her children, Michael (Judy), Daniel (Kathy) McCluskey, Jean (Doug) Miller and Laura (Dave) Simnick; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Richard (Carol) Walter and Rita (Lourie) Batt. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Francis McCluskey and Raymond Rakowski; and son, Patrick (Holly) McCluskey.

Victor Mortensen

Victor Svein Mortensen, 69, of Glen Ellyn, died Thursday, May 26, in Glen Ellyn.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 28, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery in Glen Ellyn.
Mr. Mortensen is survived by his wife, Gloria; daughter-in-law, Terra of Lombard; one grandson; siblings, Frank (Charmaine) of Lombard, Hans Willy (Janet) and Laila (Charles Michael) Potts of Lombard; and 10 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons, Karl and Gordon; and parents, the Rev. Hans and Wilhelmine Mortensen.
Mr. Mortensen was born in Norway and had resided in Glen Ellyn since 1988, and was formerly of Lombard. He was co-owner of VFN Fiberglass in Addison since 1969. He also worked in commercial construction and was a 49-year member of the Carpenter’s Union Local #58 in Chicago.
Mr. Mortensen was a member of the Midwest Street Road Association and the National Hot Rod Association, and made fiberglass race car parts.
