Cynthia Capps

Cynthia Capps, nee Wrzosek, 56, of Lombard, died Thursday, March 10, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment is private.
Mrs. Capps is survived by her husband, Jerry D.; children, Jerry D. II of Lombard, David D. (Jessica) of Lombard, Kathryn B. (Joe) Coconato of Villa Park and Jose Alba of Lombard; seven grandchildren; brothers, Bob (Cathy) and Cyril; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and dogs, Gypsy and Elvis.
Mrs. Capps was a resident of Lombard for 20 years, and was a graduate of Willowbrook High School.

Allie Cooke

Funeral services for Allie “Tomi” Cooke were held Sunday, March 13, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mrs. Cooke is survived by her children, Sharon (Dr. Ronald) Fernbach, Dr. Martin (Linda) Russo and Dr. Robert (Patty) Russo; grandmother of seven; and great-grandmother of five. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Martin T. Russo and David Cooke.

Delores Coomes

Delores Elaine Coomes, nee Adams, formerly of Lombard, died Monday, March 14.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 18, at Laird Funeral Home in Elgin, followed by a funeral service at Abiding Peace Lutheran Church in Elgin Saturday, March 19.
Mrs. Coomes is survived by her children, Nancy (Rick) Kasper, Judy (Rob) Wachler, Bryan, Christopher (Sandy), John (Maki), Charlie (Laura) and Martin (Deanna); nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan, whom she married in 1950; parents, Wayne Adams and Irene Adams Caron; and sister, Charlotte Schulz.
Mrs. Coomes was born and raised in Chicago, attended Wright Junior College and was employed by the Mandel Brothers Co. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and sewing, and especially loved to cook and bake. She loved good music and was an avid dancer well into her 60s, and participated in TOPS group fundraisers. She enjoyed reading and traveling, and was an enthusiastic Cubs fan.
She was a member of Abiding Peace Lutheran Church and King’s Daughters, and was known for being happiest when sharing her love with extended family and friends.

George Fernandes

A memorial Mass for George E. Fernandes, 73, of Villa Park, was held Thursday, March 10, at St. Zachary Catholic Church in Des Plaines. Interment was private.
Mr. Fernandes is survived by his siblings, Sacru (the late Thomas) Gomes, Balbina (Felix) Fernandes and Anthony (Suhaila) Fernandes; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henrique and Rosa Fernandes; and brother, Julius Fernandes.

Patricia Ann Jochem

Patricia Ann Jochem, nee Porter, 69, of Wisconsin, formerly of Lincolnwood, died Tuesday, March 8, at RML Specialty Hospital in Hinsdale.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 12, at Brust Funeral Home 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private.
Mrs. Jochem is survived by her husband, John F., whom she married in 1962; children, Cindy (Dave) Schmiegelt and Kim; two grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth Porter, Carol Mundy and Janet Hancock; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Jochem was born on the family farm and attended Mitchell High School in Mitchell, Ind. She moved to Chicago in 1960 and then to Lincolnwood, and in 2003 moved to Genoa City, Wis. She retired from Joseph Blumberg & Associates Insurance Agency in Chicago, and was active in insurance matters. She was an avid fisherman and gardener, loved sewing and crocheting, and was very handy and loved to build things.

Helen LeGare

Helen F. LeGare, nee Commare, 89, of Villa Park, died Thursday, March 10.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, March 18 at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 19, at the funeral home. Interment is private.
Mrs. LeGare is survived by her children, Aileen (George) Demakos, Nancy (Richard) Kalina, Terese (the late Earl) Goodson, Helen Reich, Owen (Sharon Dugdale), Neil, Anthony (Kathy), Noreen LeGare (James Dean), Robert, Joseph, Thomas, Paul (Dawn), John, Denise and Michael (Debbie); 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Stephen Commare; and many nieces and nephews. James McGrew

Edward J. Michaels, 56, formerly of Lombard, died Saturday, March 12, in Naperville.

Funeral prayers for Clifford J. Nielson, 82, of St. Charles, formerly of Lombard, will be held today, March 16, at 9:30 a.m. at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Kenneth Schultz

Kenneth M. Schultz, 90, of Villa Park and Melrose Park, died Friday, March 11.

Dorothy Scott

Dorothy A. Scott, 89, of Lombard, died Sunday, March 13, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 15, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private.
Mrs. Scott is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Robert) Meek; son-in-law, John Syms; four grandchildren; and siblings, Lorraine Clegg and Robert Benson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; and daughter, Laurel Syms.
Mrs. Scott loved to dance and taught line dancing at Beacon Hill. Her hobby was her grandchildren and she was a member of the Red Hat Society.
