Mary Pauline Carlson

Mary Pauline “Petey” Carlson, nee Mooney, born May 1, 1923, reunited with her late husband Axel E. Carlson on Valentine’s Day, 2011.
She was the loving mother of James (Amy Albright) and Jack (Cathy); cherished grandmother of Michael (Kirsten), Adam, Erik and Emily; great-grandmother to Emma Claire and A.J.; beloved sister of James (Phyllis) Mooney, the late Marjorie Fricke and Thomas Mooney. She is survived by several beloved nieces, nephews and special friends.
After graduating from Parker High School in Chicago, Petey worked as an artist for General Mills before becoming a devoted homemaker in Lombard, eventually residing at Beacon Hill, where she will be missed by both residents and staff. Per her request, family members held private remembrances in lieu of a memorial service.

Gail Belsom

Gail M. Belsom, of Lombard, born Oct. 6, 1951, in Lombard, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.
Family and friends will gather Monday, March 7, for a 1:30 p.m. cemetery service at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Road, Elwood.
Mrs. Belsom was the beloved wife of Gary; and dear sister of Dan Kline of Mauston, Wis., and Dennis Kline of Reedsburg, Wis.

James Bingham

Funeral services for James F. Bingham, 74, were held Saturday, Feb. 26, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Entombment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mr. Bingham is survived by his wife, Mica; children, Rosemarie and Anthony (Tina); two grandchildren; and brother Herbert. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Katherine Fritsch and Richard Bingham.
Mr. Bingham was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War.

Betsy Downing

Betsy Downing, nee Salvagno, 69, of Lombard, died Sunday, Feb. 27, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 3, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, with prayers from the funeral home to Mass at Christ the King Church in Lombard. Interment is private.
Mrs. Downing is survived by her husband, William J.; children, William J. Jr. of Lombard, Elizabeth (Jeff) James and Robert (Angela); and seven grandchildren.
Mrs. Downing grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was a resident of Lombard since 1978. She had retired from the DuPage County Courthouse after working as an administrative assistant to judges. She was an avid tennis player and golfer at Courts Plus in Elmhurst and Glen Briar; was a member of Twin Lakes Country Club in Westmont; and was a fundraiser for ovarian cancer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Illinois Chapter of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition would be appreciated.

Jim Feely

Jim P. Feely, 72, of Lombard, died Friday, Feb. 25, at The Meadows of Glen Ellyn.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 1, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Feely is survived by his children, Joanne (Bob) Smith, Kelly, Dan (Anne), David (Michele) and William (Anne Kremer); 10 grandchildren; siblings, Mary Jane (Gerald) Reese, Catherine (Robert) Bosshart, Theresa (Bruce) Kenning and Thomas; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine.
Mr. Feely was a resident of Lombard since 1977 and was formerly of Berkeley and Glen Ellyn. He graduated from St. Mel’s High School and was retired as a commercial electrician with Local #134, IBEW. He was active with the Sacred Heart German Fest and the Holy Name Society, and was a member of the Moose.

Susan Norton

A memorial service for Susan Kathleen Norton, nee Boal, formerly a longtime resident of Lombard, will be held Friday, March 4, from 6-10 p.m. at the Villa Park VFW Post #2801, 39 E. St. Charles Road, Villa Park.
Mrs. Norton is survived by her children, Lori (Pat Birdwell), Kristy (Chris) Watkins and Robby; four grandchildren, Brendan, Cailyn, Bella and Zachery Birdwell; her two sisters, Judy Zalisk (Steve Dexter) and Bonnie (Rich) Dennes; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
