Peter Evanovich

Peter Raymond Evanovich, 66, of Belvidere, passed away Jan. 26, 2011, in his residence.
Survivors include his sons, Troy Evanovich of Texas and Technical Sgt. Brandon Evanovich, U.S. Air Force serving in Germany, and daughter, Dana (Jim) Barrett of West Chicago; grandchildren, Preston, Amirah, Austin, Brenna, Cameron, Catherine, and J.T.; and brothers, William (Karen) Arbuthnot and Devon Arbuthnot. Peter was also a uncle to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Raymond and Matilda Catherine (Caron) Evanovich; and brother, Dale Evanovich.
Mr. Evanovich was born Sept. 24, 1944, in Londonderry, Ireland. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the United States Air Force as a sergeant.

Lupe Gonzalez

Lupe Gonzalez, 90, of Lombard and Romeoville, died Wednesday, March 2, at Meadowbrook Manor in Bolingbrook.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 5, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Lombard. Interment was at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by her daughters, Josephine (Vincent) Hernandez, Andrea (David) Aguina, Helen (Patricia) Gonzalez, Antoinette Heredia and Victoria of Lombard; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Michaela Rodriguez, Consuelo (Daniel) Pacheco, Mary (Rudy) Guido, Michael Solorio, Frank (Frances) Solorio and John Solorio; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel; and brothers, Daniel Solorio and Jesse Rodriguez.
Mrs. Gonzalez was a resident of Chicago for over 85 years, where she was a pioneer of the Back of the Yards neighborhood. She resided between Lombard and Romeoville since 2005.
She was known as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, whose unconditional love and support were the pillars of her family’s strength. She was known for being a good cook and her homemade flour tortillas, tamales and fresh cut French fries will be sorely missed. She enjoyed dining out in her later years, and her favorite menu items were buttermilk pancakes and chiles rellenos. Her world travels took her to Florida, Mexico and France, and she was a member of the Mary McDonald Settlement Alumni Association.

Dorothy Linhart

Dorothy M. Linhart, nee Kahovec, 88, of Lombard, died Sunday, March 6, at Elmhurst Extended Care in Elmhurst.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Thursday, March 10, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment is at Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago.
Mrs. Linhart is survived by her children, Nancy (Albert) Townsend of Lombard and Kenneth (Beverly); four grandchildren; brother-in-law, Joe Linhart; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; brother-in-law, Raymond Linhart; and sister-in-law, Beatrice (the late Frank) Kubat.
Mrs. Linhart was a resident of Lombard since 1949 and was married for 57 years.

Betty Nack

Betty Nack, a longtime resident of Lombard, died Friday, March 4, at Elmhurst Hospital.
Funeral services were private.
Mrs. Nack was the beloved wife of the late Herbert P.; loving mother of Dennis (Debbie) Nack, Debbie A. Nack, Dolores Nack and Donald (Kate) Nack; proud grandmother of Kelly (Patrick) Decker, Sara, Jennifer, Marc, Melissa and DJ Nack; and dear sister of the late Dr. John (Dolores) McGrath.
Mrs. Nack was born March 9, 1919, in St. Louis, Mo. She was a homemaker.

Frank Ochocki

Frank Joseph Ochocki, 74, of West Chicago, died Friday, March 4, in West Chicago.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 8, at Faith United Methodist Church in Lombard. Interment was at Wheaton Cemetery.
Mr. Ochocki is survived by his wife, Carolyn; children, Debbie (Roy) Darby, Michael, Cathy (Paul) Villano and Marie (Steve) Smit; eight grandchildren; brother, Russell, and many wonderful friends whom he treasured as far back as elementary school.
Mr. Ochocki enlisted in the U.S. Army and served with the military police, worked as a plant manager for Playschool and in the management training development program for Ford Motor Co., designed kitchens, and he and son Michael owned their own business for many years.
He was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church in Lombard, and was a member of the American Legion Post #300 in West Chicago. Building model boats, golf and interior craft projects were his favorite hobbies. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved telling jokes and stories masterfully to one and all.

Jeanette Olson

Jeanette Olson, nee Jordan, 86, of Lombard, died Monday, Feb. 28, in Lombard, three days before her 87th birthday.
A small celebration of her life was held at Sunrise of Lincoln Park with her closes friends who cared for her and enriched the final years of her life with their loving attention. Interment was at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Mrs. Olson is survived by her daughter, Sharon M.; son-in-law, Fred Fleischbein; sisters, Marlene Johnson and Lorraine Herrera; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Bernt Olson; parents, Mary and Milo Jordan; brothers, Michael and James Jordan; and sisters-in-law, Louise Jordan and Dorothy Kupla.
Mrs. Olson was a resident of Lombard for over 50 years and has resided in the Lincoln Park neighborhood for the past six years. She was known as a devoted wife and mother, whose faith and family were the focal points of her life. Her joy of life and a good meal were evident throughout her life, and her home was always filled with family and friends.

Jane Ryan

Jane A. Ryan, nee Barnes, 85, of Lombard, died Thursday, March 3, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 10, at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 S. Princeton, Villa Park.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 11, at Lombard Bible Church in Lombard. Interment is private at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Chicago.
Mrs. Ryan is survived by her children, E. Patrick and Diane J. “DJ” (James F.) Carpenter of Lombard; brother, Chester (Mary Lou) Barnes; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald M.; son, Michael D.; and daughter, Donna J.
Mrs. Ryan was a resident of Lombard for 42 years.

Ernest Silberhorn

Ernest “Ernie” Silberhorn, 91, of Lombard, died Tuesday, March 1, at Lexington of Lombard.
A memorial service was held Sunday, March 6, at Glen Ellyn Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where he attended.
Mr. Silberhorn is survived by his children, Judy, Carol, Hanc, Peter, Paul and Phil; 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Jean; and daughters, Lynn and Joan.
Mr. Silberhorn retired from Lombard Elementary School District 44 and moved to Park Falls, Wis., where he lived for almost 30 years until returning to Lombard for the last several years to be near his family. He was known for being a wonderful, loving, kind father and grandfather, loved by all who knew him.
