Frank Beresniewicz

Frank Beresniewicz, 75, of Lombard, died Wednesday, May 11, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 16, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Church in Lombard. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Beresniewicz is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Debbie Littrell of Lombard, Renee (Steve) Kramp and Sharon (Christopher) Bauman of Lombard; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Fred and Chris (Jerry) Kolbusz; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark T.
Mr. Beresniewicz was a resident of Lombard for 33 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the 1950s in the 10th Mountain Division, and had retired from G.E. as a field engineer for X-ray machines. He was a member of the American Legion 391 in Lombard; and enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, gardening and jewelry making.

Alex Beresoff

Alex John Beresoff, of Lombard, died Thursday, May 12, in York Township.
Funeral services and interment are private.
Mr. Beresoff is survived by his wife, Dianna Lynn; children, Erik (Patricia) and Lara L.; and stepchildren, Bret (Stacey) Mowery and Leslie Mowery.
Mr. Beresoff was born in New York, N.Y., and worked in banking as a trust officer.

Merle Burns

Funeral services for Merle Grace Burns, nee Dreher, of Villa Park for many years, were held Saturday, May 14, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Villa Park.
Mrs. Burns is survived by her children, Kathleen (Bruno) Hilgart and Pastor Sue Devermann; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James N.; and brother, Robert (Nancy) Dreher.
Mrs. Burns was among the first residents of Villa Park. She was very devoted to her family and caring for sick and injured animals; and will be remembered as welcoming, sweet, kind and always helping others.
Memorials to Our Saviour Lutheran Church or the Illinois Humane Society would be appreciated.

Thomas Grubisich

Thomas “Mick” Grubisich, 87, of Lombard, died Monday, May 9, at Lexington Healthcare in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 13, at Trinity Lutheran Church York Center in Lombard. Interment was at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Mr. Grubisich is survived by his wife, Esther; children, Vernon (Mairead) and Norman (Bonnie) of Villa Park; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. Grubisich was a resident of Lombard for 17 years during the 1960s and 1970s before moving to St. Augustine, Fla. In 1983, he moved to Orland Park and then back to Lombard the last three years.
Mr. Grubisich was a U.S. Navy corpsman with the 1st Marine Division during World War II, serving in the Pacific at Guadalcanal and Okinawa. He had retired in 1982 after working as a salesman for Robert Bosch Co. in Broadview, selling power tools. He was a life member of DAV and a member of the DAV Commanders Club. He had been wounded in World War II and received two Presidential citations.

Randolph Mallin

Randolph J. “Randy” Mallin, a lifelong resident of Villa Park, died Friday, May 13.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 20, at the Bohemian National Cemetery Ceremony Chapel in Chicago.
Mr. Mallin is survived by his siblings, Richard (Sharon) Mallin, Katherine Mallin (Renato) and Kenneth (Christine) Mallin; and four nieces and nephews; and was the great-uncle of one. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Helen Mallin.
Mr. Mallin was a 1978 graduate of Willowbrook High School.

Elizabeth Militello

Elizabeth “Reno” Militello, 77, of Lombard, died Thursday, May 12, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by family.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 16, with prayers from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, to Mass at St. Alexander Catholic Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Militello is survived by her children, Ann Marie (Tim) DeMars, Patty Ann (Don) Nolte, Donna (Howie) Tribble and Samuel (Anna); 13 grandchildren; siblings, Jean Corso and David Kennedy; many nieces and nephews; and daughter-in-law, Annie (Tony) Bahrs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and David Kennedy; husband of 53 years, Sam; and brother, Thomas Kennedy.

Mrs. Militello was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and immigrated to Chicago in 1948; in honor of her hometown, the family business was named Belfast Auto Parts. She had a passion for her faith, family and friends; bowling, bingo and traveling; and spoiling her 13 grandchildren. She was an active member of the DuPage County Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
