Eileen Albertsen

Eileen D. Albertsen, 83, of Glen Ellyn, formerly of Lombard, died Thursday, Nov. 3, surrounded by her family at Oak Trace Retirement Community.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 7, at Lombard Bible Church, with Pastor Stu Heiss officiating. Interment was at Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mrs. Albertsen is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ralph; children, Wayne (Linda), Marsha (Michael Zielke and Julie (fiancé José Morales); five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sister, Beverly Fawell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan; parents, Florence and Arthur Landon; and siblings, Lorraine Bowker and George Landon.
Mrs. Albertsen was born and raised in Oak Park and graduated from Oak Park High School. She graduated from Elmhurst College with an associate degree in medical technology, and worked at Loretto Hospital as a medical technician before her marriage. She was an active member of the Lombard Bible Church and was very involved with the quilting group at the church. She enjoyed sewing, was very involved in Girl Scouts as a troop leader and day camp coordinator, and was very active in the Lombard Republican Women’s Club and the Community Chest.
She was an avid book reader, enjoyed baking pies, was an animal lover and enjoyed playing the piano.

Joseph DeBoo

Funeral services for Joseph H. DeBoo, 96, of Villa Park, were held Monday, Nov. 7, at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mr. DeBoo is survived by his wife, Sylvia; children, Sr. Barbara DeBoo, CSA, Patricia (Peter Schram) DeBoo, Dan (Christine), Margaret (Gary) Chapman, Lorette, Joseph M. (Diane), Lucy (Joseph) Stastny, Paul (Janet), Andrew, Albert, Edward and Philip (Angela); 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Robert (the late Beverly); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Ann; and siblings, Jerome (Patricia) and Emil (Marge).

Gregory Felbinger

Services and interment for Gregory A. Felbinger, 53, of Lombard and Villa Park, are private.
Mr. Felbinger is survived by his mother, Karyl; siblings, James S. (Lynda), Lori (Jerry Wattron) Schorle and Stephen (Aimee) Buzzell; eight nieces and nephews; uncle, Harvey (Mary) Felbinger; and aunt, Judith Raney. He was preceded in death by his father, James L.

Marie Giuffre

Marie C. Giuffre, nee Costantino, 85, of Lombard, formerly of Forest Park, died Thursday, Nov. 3, at Lexington Health Care Center in Lombard.
A memorial gathering and funeral will be held Friday, Nov. 11, at Christ the King Church in Lombard. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Giuffre is survived by her children, JoAnne M. Sonneveld of Lombard, Salvatore (Melissa), Vincent P. (Wilma) and Mary Ellen (David) Wolenberg; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Vinnie J. Farrell of Lombard; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo P.; brother, Joseph (Antoinette) Costantino; and brother-in-law, Edward Farrell.
Mrs. Giuffre was a longtime Lombard/Villa Park resident. She had retired from Wickes and Wieboldt’s and had been a very devoted employee. She was a longtime member of Christ the King Church in Lombard and was a big fan of Frank Sinatra.

Judith Kochurka

Judith Ann Kochurka, nee Heidner, 70, of Lombard, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 4, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, with the Rev. Nate Klinger, CCOB, officiating. Interment was private.
Mrs. Kochurka is survived by her children, Jerry (Maggie), Sandi (Steve) Igyarto, Kim and Traci (Andy) Bluder; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; siblings, Shirley Heidner, Don (Bob Rubenstein) Heidner, Jan (Pete) Schmeisser and Jim (Pat) Heidner; and five nieces and nephews.

Vladimir Lamplot

Vladimir Lamplot, 87, of Lombard, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, in Winfield.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 5, with the Rev. Tom Corbino officiating. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mr. Lamplot is survived by his children, Michael (Carol), Patricia (Ronald) Vlk and Robert (Marian); seven grandchildren; brother, Jerry Lamplot; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta.
Mr. Lamplot had worked as a color proofer and printer. He was a a veteran of World War II, a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and involved with Boy Scouts of America Troop 140.

Anthony Marozza

Anthony Marozza, 74, of Villa Park, died Thursday, Nov. 3, at Oak Brook Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Marozza is survived by his wife, Sharon L., whom he married in 1961 at St. Pius X Church; daughters, Cheryl L. (Ray) Theurer and Debra Marozza-Evans of Villa Park; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and siblings, Angie Magaruh, Mary Landa, Jessie Phelps, Betty Namie, Peggy Mansberry and Ronnie Marozza.
Mr. Marozza was a resident of Villa Park for 39 years and was formerly of Lombard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had worked at the Merchandise Mart and the Chicago Tribune. He was a member of the Lombard American Legion.

William Schaefer

William R. Schaefer, of Indialantic, Fla., formerly of Lombard, died Oct. 26 after a long illness.
He is survived by his beloved wife Helen; his loving children, Leslie (Tom), Carol (Tim) and Nancy (Jim); and his cherished grandchildren, Brian (Brooke), Lauren (Jacob), Brad, Michael, Colleen, Annie, Laura, Sara, Staci, and James.
He was a veteran of the Korean War.

Kristin Schlueter

Kristin J. Schlueter, 56, of Wausau, Wis., died Friday Oct. 28, 2011, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at the Hospice House, Wausau.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 215 S. Lincoln Street, Lombard, Ill.
Survivors include her parents, Jack and Audrey Jones of Lombard, Ill.; her three children, Henry Schlueter of Denton, Texas, Sydney Schlueter and Jack Schlueter, both of Wausau, Wis.; one grandson, Vincent Bergs; two sisters, Polly Jones of Lombard, Ill., and Kelli Jones of Los Angeles, Calif. Kristin was preceded in death by two brothers, David and John Jones.
Kristin was a dental hygienist at Bearjar Dental in Wausau for more than 10 years.

Joan Schneider

Joan F. Schneider, nee Bell, 79, of Lombard, formerly of La Grange, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 5, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Mrs. Schneider is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harold H. “Hal” Jr.; children, Harold H. III “Skip” (Chelsea), Thomas, James (Ann), Richard (Chris), Robert, David (Nancy), Linda Lord, Sandra (Gary) Kastorff and Tina Lampert; 32 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; siblings, William F. (Claire) Bell III, Robert Bell, Kathleen (Robert) McKenna, Andrea (John) Pokryfke and Terry Bell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William F. and Marie Bell II; sister, Patricia Bielby; and sister-in-law, Barbara Bell.
Mrs. Schneider made a career of raising her nine children, born within the first 10 years of her marriage, and was an avid reader, loved to crochet, had a green thumb with a house full of plants and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lydia Sherwin

Lydia Sherwin, nee Podnewich, 88, of Lombard, died Thursday, Nov. 3, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 7, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment was at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.
Mrs. Sherwin is survived by her children, Janice Nilsen, Robert and Carole (Paul) Kasch; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, May Marlewesky; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome; and two sisters and one brother.
Mrs. Sherwin was a resident of Lombard since 1956. She was a homemaker and had worked at Marshall Field’s and had been a demo lady for C.B. Foods. She was involved in scouting and Campfire groups as a leader; had been a room mother, library and crossing guard volunteer at Hammerschmidt School; had been a teacher’s aide at the Sacred Heart Montessori School; and worked at the Sacred Heart German Fest. She had been an election judge for 60 years, was a bowler and bingo player, and during World War II, had folded bandages for the Red Cross.

Isabelle Strauss

Isabelle Strauss, nee Pope, age 86, of Lombard, passed away Wednesday Nov. 2, 2011 at Gottlieb Hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 7 at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17W201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.
Mrs. Strauss is survived by her daughters, Eileen (Bob) Gunther, and Kay (Bob) Herigodt and son Edward “Butch” Strauss; three grandchildren, Amy (Jay) Titus, Bob (Krissy) Gunther, Kris (Mike) Herigodt- Miazga; and four great grandchildren, Rob Gunther, Ella Titus, Derek Gunther and Kyleigh Miazga. Isabelle was an aunt to many and a friend to all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Helmuth.

Dorothy Havener Werler

Dorothy Havener Werler, nee Wolf, of Lombard and Hyde Park, passed away on Aug.10, 2011.

She attended DePauw University and retired from Carson Pirie Scott in 1986. In loving memory of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will always be remembered.
