Elaine Birchall

Elaine C. Birchall, nee Sivertsen, 83, of Lombard, died Thursday, Oct. 20, in Lombard.
Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 31, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the funeral home. Interment is at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.
Mrs. Birchall is survived by her son, Kerry of Lombard; and brother, Pete Sivertsen. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John A. Jr.; son, John M.; and brother, Marvin Sivertsen.
Mrs. Birchall was a resident of Lombard for 58 years. She had worked for Marshall’s department store for 13 years; performed Country and Western music at various churches, retirement homes and senior centers for over 20 years; and was a homemaker most of her life.

Josephine Bowdish

Funeral services for Josephine M Bowdish, nee Nicoletti, 92, of Villa Park, are being held today, Oct. 26, at St. Alexander Church Gathering Space in Villa Park. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Bowdish is survived by her children, Ronald (Patricia), Michael (Sandra) and Wendy (Timothy) Flynn; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W.; brother, John (Loretta) Nicoletti.

Ann Cassidy

A memorial Mass for Ann M. Cassidy, nee McGovern, 86, was held Saturday, Oct. 22, at St. John the Apostle Church in Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mrs. Cassidy is survived by her husband, John T. “Jack”; children, Thomas (Charlene), Susan (Robert) Ecker, Richard (Cynthia), Anne (Richard) Drolet, Nora (John) Hanlon, Joyce (Robert) Kane, Carol (Edward) Novak and Marilyn (Thomas) Gotsch; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Donald McGovern, Mary Pappas and Rita Cain.
Mrs. Cassidy loved her family and was involved in many organizations and activities. She enjoyed dancing and was always there to help.

Ann Cilla

Ann Cilla, nee Biffany, 90, of Wheaton, Ill., died Sunday, Oct. 16, at home following a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Oct. 29 at the Wheaton Evangelical Free Church in Wheaton.
Mrs. Cilla is survived by her husband, Dominic; daughter, Diane (Ray) Johnson of Villa Park; daughter, Debby (Howard) Glaser of Wheaton; grandchildren, Michael (Jan) Hnilica, T.J. (Angela) Hnilica, Jill (Todd) Fletcher, Ken (Laura) Johnson and Kristina Johnson; great grandchildren, Sophia, Isabella and Caleb; and siblings, MaryElizabeth, Lucille, Gino and Rose. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lizabeth Biffany; and her siblings, Catherine, Lucille, Johnny, Violet, Josie, Felice, Julio and Dina. She was loved by many.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Lottie Hinz

Lottie Hinz, age 102, of Hinckley, Ill., formerly of Villa Park, Ill., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011.
Friends may visit from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011 at the Nash-Nelson Funeral Home in Hinckley, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at the Nash-Nelson Funeral Home, 141 N. Maple St., Hinckley, Ill., with pastors Alex Kurz and Todd Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Pierce Cemetery, Maple Park, Ill.
She is survived by her children, Rita Fredrickson of Hinckley, Ill., Norma Irwin of Villa Park, Ill., Theodor A. (Barbara) Hinz of Lombard, Ill., and Roland S. (Lila) Hinz of Pasadena, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and her one great great-grandson.
Mrs. Hinz was born on Jan. 18, 1909, in Berlin, Germany, the daughter of the late August and Lina (Klemeck) Kischkewitz. Lottie was united in marriage in March of 1930 to Theodor L. Hinz and they spent many happy years together until his passing. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Donna Holt

Donna Ann Holt, 74, of Herrin, Ill., formerly of Naperville and Lombard, died Monday, Sept. 19, at Herrin Hospital in Herrin.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 22, at Crosswinds Church in Plainfield. Interment was private.
Mrs. Holt is survived by her children, Pastor Dennis (Debra) Clarke and Tammy (special friend Allen Christy) Boss; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Christina (Laurence) Mertens; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Bernice.
Mrs. Holt was born in Wabeno, Wis. She had retired after working as a beautician for many hears. She was of the Catholic faith; enjoyed crocheting and making crafts; watching her favorite television programs, “Judge Judy” and “Wheel of Fortune”; and loved spending time with her family and friends.

Joanne Kellermann

Joanne M. Kellermann, nee Rasdale, 76, of Lombard, died suddenly Monday, Oct. 17, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 22, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Graceland Cemetery in Chicago.
Mrs. Kellermann is survived by her children, Kim E. (Darlene Pylar) Kellermann, Kevin (Joanne) of Lombard and Kristin Maravelias; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Patricia Casurella, James V. Rasdale, Chuck (Joan) Rasdale and Linda (Arlan) Rasdale Bushman; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Millaro; and brother, Joseph R. Rasdale.
Mrs. Kellermann was a resident of Lombard for seven years and of Villa Park for 20 years. She was formerly of St. John’s, Mich., and was a 1953 graduate of St. John’s High School. She received her master’s degree in education from Michigan State in 1972 and taught second grade in Michigan before retiring.
Mrs. Kellermann was currently a professional philatelist and had been part of Rasdale Stamp Co. in Westmont for 20 years—a business that had been in the family since 1932. She was a collector of Dilly Dingles, Singer sewing machines, stamps with children, and angels.

Edna Rade

Edna E. Rade, nee Weiss, 93, of Lombard, died Monday, Oct. 17, at Beacon Hill Health Center in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 21, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Oakridge Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Rade is survived by her daughters, Carol (Bob) Brunton of Lombard and Cheryl (James) Williams; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George L.
Mrs. Rade had been a resident of Lombard since 1978. She had been an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Villa Park.

Betty Thompson
