Alexander Boehm

Alexander G. Boehm, 81, of Bartlett, formerly of Lombard, died Thursday, Sept. 29, at Lexington Health Center in Bloomingdale.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lombard. Interment was private at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mr. Boehm is survived by his wife, Lorraine J.; sons, Robert G. (Nina) and Karl A. (Laura); four grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (Gerald) Etchingham; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mr. Boehm was a former volunteer at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital for 14 years; was a member of the Jaycees; where he was part of the Jaycees softball team state champions; and had been very active at Trinity Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, Roosevelt and Meyers Roads, Lombard, IL 60148, would be appreciated.

Veva Clark

Veva Yvonne Bruns Clark, 97, of Lombard died Thursday, Sept. 29.
Funeral services are being held today, Oct. 5, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment is at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.
Mrs. Clark is survived by her son, Victor H. (Virginia) Bruns Jr.; four grandchildren (see Robert Reese notice); stepdaughter, Gail Gilszmer; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Victor H. Bruns Sr. and Raymond Clark; daughters, Beverly (Donald) Jacobson and Barbara Johnson; and stepdaughter, Dawn Richardson.

Betty DeMares

Betty J. DeMares, nee Lutin, 84, of West Bend, Wis., formerly of Lombard, died Friday, Sept. 30, in Wisconsin.
Funeral services are being held today, Oct. 5, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment is at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mrs. DeMares is survived by her daughters, Donna (Bud Jones) Jasasra and Kathy (Joe) Baumann; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad, whom she married in 1946; and parents, Nina and Glen Lutin.
Mrs. DeMares was a resident of Lombard for most of her life. She had been a playground and lunch supervisor for 11 years at Manor Hill School. She had also volunteered at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital for many years.
Mrs. DeMares located to West Bend to be with one of her daughters and her family after her husband’s death. She loved people and loved to laugh, and will be remembered for her strength, perseverance and love of life.

Susan Graves

Susan Jean Graves, 59, of Jonesboro, Ga., entered into rest on Oct. 2, 2011. 
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, from 5-9 p.m. at Tara Garden Chapel, 681 North Ave., Jonesboro, GA 30236  (770-471-7171). Services honoring Mrs. Graves will be held Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jeff Helenza officiating.   
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Kenny Graves; children, Ryan Michael Graves and Nicholas Taylor Graves; and brother, Thomas Olson; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was the daughter of the late George and Ima-Jean Olson.

Robert Reese

Robert M. Reese, 48, of Lombard, died Sunday, Oct. 2.
Visitation and funeral services are private.
Mr. Reese is survived by his father, Thomas (Dorothy) Reese; siblings, Veva (Joe) Hernandez and Debra (Robert) Hernandez; stepbrothers and stepsisters, Matthew Reese, Kelly (Kevin) Lang, Debbie (Jim) Arthur, Michael Jacobson and Dan Jacobson; 15 nieces and nephews; and five great-nieces and great-nephews; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly (Donald) Jacobson; and grandmother, Veva Clark.

Lillian Szmurlo

Lillian H. Szmurlo, nee Sikorski, 86, formerly of Lombard, died Sunday, Sept. 26.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 1, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Church in Lombard. Interment was at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
Mrs. Szmurlo is survived by her children, Ronald (Judith), Florian (Diana), Lawrence (Deborah), Mary (Leonard) Paruszkiewicz, Leonard (Christine), Chester and Steven (Steve); seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Edwin; and siblings, Louis Sikorski, Edward (Mary) Starnowski, Sylvia (Leon) Gralewski, Jean (Ted) Brzezinski and Roman (Therese) Sikorski.
