John Dwight Allyn

John Dwight Allyn, 78, of Villa Park, died Saturday, April 7, in Villa Park.
Visitation is today, April 11, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 12, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dave Armstrong officiating. Interment is private.
Mr. Allyn is survived by his wife, Wanda; children, Stephanie Lynn Potter, Anthony Dwight Allyn, Jay J. Allyn, Fred Folkerts and Cliff Folkerts; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Allyn was a musician and entertainer who worked with such names as Bobby Vinton, Pee Wee King and the Richard Maltby Orchestra, to name a few. He also had his own TV shows on WGEM Quincy, called “Mississippi River Roundup,” and the WBAY-CBS, called “The Noon Show.”

Patricia A. Hagerty

Funeral services for Patricia A. Hagerty, 89, were held Tuesday, April 10, at St. Alexander Church Gathering Space in Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Hagerty is survived by her children, Patrick (Carol), Dennis, Thomas (Patricia), Marie, Joseph (Carol), James (Judy) and Margaret (Paul) Ward; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J.

Aloysius F. Jaloszynski

Funeral services for Aloysius F. “Mark” Jaloszynski, 73, of Lombard, will be held today, April 11, with prayers from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, to Mass at St. Pius X Church in Lombard. Interment is at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Mr. Jaloszynski is survived by his wife, Joanne; children, Lynn (David) Cilella, Julie, Mark (Tracey) and Vicki (Joe) Ream; nine grandchildren; and siblings, Dorothy Philip, Barbara (Tom) Novello and Bruce (Joyce) Jaloszynski. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Boles.

Richard E. Leifheit

Richard E. Leifheit, 56, of Lombard, passed away quietly at his home surrounded by his family Saturday April 7, 2012. 
Richard was a loyal, loving husband and father who is survived by his wife, Laura; children, Cristen and Kate; parents, Richard and Marilyn; brothers, Donald (Jeanne) and Eric (Denise); sister-in-law, Karen (Mike Hansen); brother-in-law, Jeff Garvey; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.

M. Eileen Mazarka

M. Eileen Mazarka, nee Klazer, 95, of Lombard, died Monday, April 2, at Lexington Health Care in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 6, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Mrs. Mazarka is survived by her dearest friend, Frank Beckett of Lombard; a niece and nephew; eight great-nieces and great-nephews; and many great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Mazarka and Scott Pierson.
Mrs. Mazarka was born in South Dakota and was a resident of Lexington Square in Lombard for 11 years and was formerly of Broadview. She had worked for the Veterans Administration.

Nicoletta Salvitti

Nicoletta Salvitti, 80, of Lombard, died Friday, March 30, in Winfield.
Funeral services were held Monday,  April 2, with prayers from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Church in Lombard, with the Rev. George Zieba officiating. Interment was at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Ms. Salvitti is survived by her nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Don) Brauch, Gene Salvitti, Kevin (Tina) Kornblith, Karen (James) Ziganto, Stephen (Diana) Ferrara, Diane (Mark) Kowalzczyk and Susan (John) Sheehan; siblings, Louis (Dulcenia) Salvitti, Lorraine Kornblith and Joan (Dominic) Ferrara; and 17 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Ms. Salvitti had worked as an administrative assistant in human resources.

Shirley Jean Scudder

Shirley Jean Scudder, 77, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2012.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 14, at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 350 E. Madison St., Lombard, IL 60148.
Mrs. Scudder was the beloved wife of John for 58 years; mother of Steven (Geri), Lori (Al), Glenn (Trish) and Karen (Phil); sister of Ron, Richard and Janet; and loving grandmother of Kyle, Tyler, James, Edward, Jenna and Joey.
Mrs. Scudder was born Oct. 3, 1934, in Minneapolis, Minn., the beautiful daughter of John and Mildred Peterson. She was a graduate of Minneapolis Central High School.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Vera L. Streetz

Vera L. Streetz, nee Pabst, 92, of Lombard, died Saturday, April 7, at Elmwood Care in Elmwood Park.
A visitation was held Tuesday, April 10, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, with military honors. Interment was private.
Mrs. Streetz is survived by her husband, William E.; children, William H. (Rose M.), Carol Suchowski and Kevin (Cheryl); daughter-in-law, Mae; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and was the aunt and great-aunt of many. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth; and sister, Dorothy.
Mrs. Streetz was a resident of Lombard for several years and had served in the U.S. Coast Guard. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines.

Catherine I. Wyns

Catherine I. “Kitty” Wyns, nee Flammia, 85, of St. Charles, formerly of Lombard, died Thursday, April 5, in St. Charles.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 10, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Wyns is survived by her children, Melvin (Toni), Linda, Carol, Kerry (Leo) Danek and Edward (Kim); 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Evelyn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald E., whom she married in 1945; daughter, Diana; grandchildren, Angela Falbo and Dawne Fox; and siblings, Melvin, Butch, Shirley Inez and Margaret.
Mrs. Wyns was a resident of St. Charles for one year and was formerly of Lombard for 65 years. She was a homemaker.
