Gene Alan Anderson

Gene Alan Anderson, born Aug. 28, 1966, passed away Dec. 18, 2011.
Funeral services are being held at the Church of the Latter Day Saints, 100 Hankes Road, Sugar Grove, Ill., 60554, on Saturday, Jan. 14, at 4 p.m., with refreshments to follow the service.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Dawn Pape Anderson; and brothers, William, David and Patrick.
He was hard-working and loved his family and friends, and will be missed by all who knew him.

Audrey Donovan

Audrey L. Donovan, nee Rynearson, 69, a lifelong resident of Lombard, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 7, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment was at Oakridge Cemetery in Buchanan, Mich.
Mrs. Donovan is survived by her husband, Michael D. of Lombard; children, D. Wade (Nancy), Greg (Jennifer), Jim (Heidi), Dennis M. (Tricia) of Lombard, Kelly (Mark) Jones of Lombard and Jeffrey (Cheri Westfal); 16 grandchildren; and brother, Bill (Mary) Rynearson. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Harlan and Rodney Rynearson.
Mrs. Donovan was a graduate of Lincoln School and a 1960 graduate of Glenbard High School. She had worked for the Federal Reserve Bank in the 1960s and also for the Clinten F. Frank Ad Agency. She had been an election judge.

Francis Donovan

A memorial visitation for Francis M. “Frank” Donovan, 86, of Villa Park, will be held Sunday, Jan. 15, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 16, at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park.
Mr. Donovan is survived by his wife, Rosemary; children, Susan (Terry) Kane, Daniel (Judith), Mary Lou Dunkovich, James (Kathleen), Thomas and Carol Comans; five grandchildren; brother, Daniel (Sandra); and was the uncle of many. He was preceded in death by his siblings, William (Marlene) and Mary Ann Donovan.

Le Roy Felgenhauer

Le Roy F. Felgenhauer, 91, of Lombard, died Friday, Dec. 30, at Beacon Hill Nursing Home in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 9, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago.
Mr. Felgenhauer is survived by his sister, Marion Fonner; 10 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma M.; and brother, William C., U.S. Army paratrooper, KIA, World War II.
Mr. Felgenhauer was a resident of Lombard since 1952. He had retired at the age of 63 from General American Transportation Corp., where he had worked 40 years as an accountant. He was a member of the Scottish Rite in Medinah and was a member for over 50 years of Lombard Lodge 1098 AF&AM.

Raymond Kranzow

Funeral services and interment for Raymond Kranzow, 82, of Villa Park, are private.
Mr. Kranzow is survived by his wife, Virginia “Ginny”; children, Sherry (Dave) Ahnew and Sandy (Scott) Fadanelli; six grandchildren; and brother, Glen Kranzow.

Kenneth A. Ludeking, 93, died Friday, Jan. 6.

Mr. Ludeking is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Barbara Solenberger (Victoria Russo) and Jane (Gary) Krogh; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Mary Ludeking.

Anthony Maltese Sr.

Funeral services for Anthony J. “Doc” Maltese Sr., 91, of Lake in the Hills, formerly of Villa Park, were held Thursday, Jan. 5, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Entombment was at Christ the King Mausoleum, Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
Mr. Maltese is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Doreen (Harry) Cloud, Tony Jr. (Kathy) and Annette (David) Kowski; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by six brothers, three sisters and a great-grandson.

Connie Moscatello

Marie Motter

J. Peter Murphy

J. Peter Murphy, 77, of Lombard, died Friday, Dec. 30, in Westmont, after an 11-month battle with a brain tumor.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 4, from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lombard, with the Rev. Edward Ward officiating. Interment was private.
Mr. Murphy is survived by his wife, Kathleen; children, John (Denise), Peggy (Pat) Wier, Jim (Lori) and Marie (Mike) Langdon; 10 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert (Karen) Murphy; and in-laws, Rose (the late Bob) Langer, Ed Ptacek and Mike (Judi) Ptacek.
Mr. Murphy was a die-hard sports fan, especially of the Cubs, Bears and UW Badgers.

Charlie Prazma

Charlie S. Prazma, of Elk Grove Village, died Friday, Jan. 6, in Downers Grove.
Funeral services will be held today, Jan. 11, at Parkview Community Church in Glen Ellyn, with the Rev. Steven King officiating. Interment is private.
Mr. Prazma is survived by his wife, Carol Thelander; children, Michael and Lisa; siblings, Steven (Teresa) Prazma, Kathryn (Dr. Donald) Pojman and Nancy (Jim) O’Keefe; and five nieces and nephews.
Mr. Prazma was a musician.

Milton Strain

Milton “Bill” Strain, born April 29, 1938, in Christoval, Texas, died Saturday, Dec. 31, at his Lombard home.
A Celebration of Life was held privately.
Mr. Strain was the husband of 52 years of Ruth “Randy”; father of Beth (Mark) Siska of Glendale Heights, Ill., Rebecca Strain of Lombard, Ill., Susan (Rick) Cermak of Oakbrook Terrace, Ill, Dan Strain of Lombard, Ill., Tim Strain of Chicago, Ill.; grandfather of Marjorie, Melissa, Alex, Stephanie, TJ and Nate; great-grandfather of Eddie, Patti, Kylah and Kaden; brother of Leonard (Bonnie) Strain of Abilene, Texas, Mary (Jack) Holland of Christoval, Texas, Raymon (Jean) Strain of Midland, Texas, Alfred (Barbara) Strain of San Angelo, Texas, and the late J.L. (Martha) Strain of Austin, Texas; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Nona and James Strain.
Mr. Strain was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a longtime Lombard resident.

Paul Richard MacKenzie

Paul Richard MacKenzie, March 22, 1967, to Dec. 31, 2011, passed away early morning of New Year's Eve in Nanaimo, Canada.
He will be dearly missed by his mother and stepfather, Pat and Neil McLeod; his brother and best friend, Ron and his family; his stepsister, Julie and her family; his half-sister Jody; his grandmother, Vera, in Nova Scotia; his ex-wife, Jennifer, and her family (including Cooper, the family dog); and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by three of his grandparents; his father, Paul; and his stepbrother, David.
Rick's dog Sallie had become the love of his life for the past three years. Rick would be happy to know that we have found a good loving home for Sallie. He was one of the bravest people we knew, having fought so many devastating medical conditions for over 20 years. He never gave up. His independence meant so much to him. His heart finally gave out.
Rest in peace Rick - your suffering is over; we will love you and remember you always. A family memorial will be held at a future date.

Charles Varak

Margaret Windt

Margaret H. Windt, 98, of Lombard, died Sunday, Jan. 1, at Fairhaven Nursing Home in Rockford.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 5, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Ms. Windt is survived by her dear friends, Rolf C. (Phyllis) Egeland and Evelyn (John) Hertrich; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Emma; and brother, Edgar.
Ms. Windt was a resident of Lombard since 1945. She had retired from the Chicago/Milwaukee/St. Paul/Pacific Railroad, was a longtime member of Lombard Bible Church and was a retired staff member of the Evangelical Alliance Mission in Carol Stream.
