David Atkinson

David Atkinson, of Lombard, died Monday, Dec. 26, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 30, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard. Interment was at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Mr. Atkinson is survived by his children, Kelly J. (Jeff) Rudd, Matthew D. and Robyn L.; five grandchildren; siblings, JoAnne (Ken) Murphy, Karen Cooney, Paul Butler, Diane (Darrell Grigsby), John (Nancy) and Jean (Steve) Hutson; many nieces and nephews; and former wife, Peggy Atkinson. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ed Cooney, Ray (Kitty) Cooney, Geri Atkinson and Donna Atkinson.
Mr. Atkinson was born in Pensacola, Fla., and had worked as a truck driver for Pepsi.

Barbara Blennert

Funeral services for Barbara Louise Blennert, nee Finney, 83, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Villa Park, were held Saturday, Dec. 31, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Arlington Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mrs. Blennert is survived by her children, Katherine Baumann, Marie (Jerry) Goddard, Sheryl Forth and John (Jenny); six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Edwin Finney; and one niece.

Le Roy Felgenhauer

Le Roy F. Felgenhauer, 91, of Lombard, died Friday, Dec. 30, at Beacon Hill Nursing Home in Lombard.
Visitation and a Masonic service will be held Sunday, Jan. 8, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 9, at the funeral home. Interment is at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago.

Edward Hauser

Edward J. Hauser, 98, of Elmhurst, formerly of Villa Park, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Elmhurst Extended Care in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 30, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lombard. Interment was at Bethania Cemetery in Justice.
Mr. Hauser is survived by his wife, Martha M.; sons, Leon E. (Connie) and Larry A. (Evelyn); five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Mr. Hauser had been a resident of Villa Park for 42 years. He was a longtime member of the Trinity Lutheran churches in both Villa Park and Lombard.

Nancy Lee Pearson

Nancy Lee Pearson, nee Pettee, of Lombard, was called home by our Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at home in Lombard.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, Dec. 18, at St. Thomas United Methodist Church in Glen Ellyn with the Rev. Danita Anderson officiating. Interment was in the memorial garden at the church.
Nancy is survived by her husband Richard H. (Rick); dear friends Sylvana Djurdjic, Julie Syzlowski and Linda Patch; her stepdaughter, Kathy (Howard) Konecke; stepson, Curt Chambers; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Leahbelle Pettee; her daughter, Janet Rhoton; stepson, Ricky Pendergrass; and husbands, Don Rhoton and Wendel Bailey.
Nancy was employed by Cendant Corp. for many years, was involved with St. Thomas and First UMC of Lombard, was a 48-year member of the Women of the Moose, was an officer of the Lombard Women’s Club and was a member of the Red Hat Society.

Robert Schreiber

Robert C. Schreiber, 87, of Plainfield, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 31, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Schreiber is survived by his daughter, Ronnie (Ronald) Slavick of Villa Park; one granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose M.; and sister, Jean (the late Leo) Brown.
Mr. Schreiber was a police officer for the city of Chicago for 25 years.

Charles Sippel

Funeral services for Charles P. Sippel, 89, of  Villa Park, were held Thursday, Dec. 28, at St. Alexander Church gathering space in Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mr. Sippel is survived by his children, William (Janet), Rosemary (Greg) Schaller and Robert (Jewel); four grandchildren; brother-in-law, Albert (Louise) Strohmeyer; and three nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen.
Mr. Sippel was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II.

Mr. Watry was the beloved husband of H. Susanne, nee Prazzo; devoted father of Cara (Roman) Szczesniak, Sheri Watry, Bruce (Patricia), Dion (Pamela) and Larry (Sharon); dear grandfather of 11; great-grandfather of two; and fond brother of Ardell (Barbara) Hertz and the late Gloria (Chuck) Hertz.
