Helen Benjaminsen

Helen Benjaminsen, nee Blissenbach, 93, of Lombard, died Thursday, June 7.
All services were private.
Mrs. Benjaminsen is survived by her children, Robert of Lombard and Barbara (Glenn) Brauer; and two grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; parents, Henry and Anna; and brother, Raymond.
Mrs. Benjaminsen was born in Kimball, Minn., attended St. Joseph Catholic School and graduated from Waconia High School. She was a resident of Lombard for 46 years. She was a member of the Lombard Service League; enjoyed gardening, crocheting and baking; and set a tremendous example for her family of what is to be valued and cherished. Her grandchildren were a source of much joy and happiness and her life was a testimony to personal contentment and thankfulness.

Theresa Budzinski

Theresa Budzinski, nee Kwit, 83, of Oakbrook Terrace, died Monday, June 4, in Westmont.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 8, from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at Ascension of Our Lord Church, with the Rev. Damian Graziano officiating. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Budzinski is survived by her son, Roman A. (Patsy); two grandchildren; sister, Helen (the late Gene) Klimek; brother-in-law, John (Eunice) Budzinski; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roman R.
Mrs. Budzinski was a homemaker and had been a resident of Oakbrook Terrace for 30-plus years.

Steven Corning

Steven A. Corning, 56, of Gurnee, died Monday, June 4, in Gurnee.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 8, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mr. Corning is survived by his parents, Al and Bea of Lombard; siblings, Paul (Jolene), Bob (Nickie) and Cheryl (George) Robillard; and seven nieces and nephews.
Mr. Corning received his master’s degree from Lake Forest College, where he helped teach art classes; and studied advanced mathematics. He worked for Abbott Labs for 23 years and then worked for Hospira. He enjoyed art, painting, sculptures and pottery; loved to read; and adored his nieces and nephews.

Attila Cziraky

Attila Joe Cziraky, 66, of Lombard, died Wednesday, June 6, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 11, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Mr. Cziraky is survived by his sons, Christopher and Michael; three grandchildren; two brothers; and ex-wife, Ursula.
Mr. Cziraky was born in Osterhofen, Germany, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served from 1966-68. He became a naturalized citizen of the United States on Feb. 18, 1969, and earned his Associate in Applied Science degree from College of DuPage in 1975.
Mr. Cziraky had a heating business for many years and was known for treating his customers fairly and would often perform services for next to nothing if he perceived any financial problems of the customer. He enjoyed family outings and loved to play chess and board games, especially with the kids. He suffered a heart attack in 1994 and later, suffered from seizures.

Robert Fleming

Robert T. Fleming, 84, died Sunday, June 10.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 12, with prayers from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, to Mass at St. Pius X Church in Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Fleming is survived by his brother, Edward (Betty) Fleming; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Theresa Fleming; and siblings, Helen (Sam) Lupo, Genevieve (Walter) Poplawski and Margaret Fleming.

Margaret Joerger

Margaret M Joerger, nee Pomierski, 88, of Norridge, formerly of Lombard and Park Ridge; died Friday, June 8, at Clare Oaks Nursing Home in Bartlett.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 14, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 15, at Clare Oaks in Bartlett. Interment will be private at Mary Hill Cemetery in Niles.
Mrs. Joerger is survived by her children, Lana (John) Pappas, Jim D. II (Teresa), Don and Donna (Dave) Dickens of Lombard; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, James. D.; and nine brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Joerger was a homemaker who loved baby-sitting for her grandchildren, Word Search, the Chicago Cubs and coffee.

Richard Kovar

Visitation for Richard P. Kovar, 56, of Villa Park, will be held Thursday, June 14, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.

Elsie Leonhardt

Elsie Mae Leonhardt, nee Wilkinson, 94, of Lombard, died Friday, June 8.
Visitation and funeral services are being held today, June 13, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment is at Glen Oak Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Leonhardt is survived by her children, Ricky and Gary (Terri); four grandchildren; and was the aunt of many. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Ada Clifton, Raymond, Emery and Wilbur Wilkinson.

Margaret Perry

Margaret Perry, nee Baughman, 88, of Lombard, formerly of Elk Grove Village, died Thursday, June 7, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 12, at Christ the King Church in Lombard, with the Rev. Peter Jarosz officiating. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery.
Mrs. Perry is survived by her children, Joseph (Mary), Barbara (Jack) White, Peggy (Vince) Martin, Jay (Beth) Denis and Andrew (Theresa); 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Pauleen) Baughman; brother-in-law, Lou (the late Donna) Perry; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron J.; children, John (Kathy) and James (Kay); and siblings, David (Sylvia), Alice Baughman, Mary Anne (the late Jack) Bresnahan, Barbara, Joe (the late Polly) Baughman and Joann (the late Blayne) Aumann.
Mrs. Perry worked in the commercial rating department in the insurance industry. She was a volunteer at Alexian Brothers Hospital for many years and was a 32-year-member of St. Julian Eymard Church in Elk Grove Village.

Charles Tassio

Funeral services for Charles P. Tassio, 86, formerly of Villa Park, were held Saturday, June 9, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mr. Tassio is survived by his children, Charles A. (Kyle) and Karen Sum; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Peter (Rosemarie) and Sam (Betty); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; and children, Sharon Oltean and Michael Tassio.
