Bruno Baltruweit

Bruno Baltruweit, 85, of Lombard, died Sunday, June 3, in Lombard.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 7, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 8, with prayers from the funeral home to Mass at Christ the King Church in Lombard. Entombment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Baltruweit is survived by his wife, Marie R.; children, Trudy (Tom) Burke and Raymond (Racquel); five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Hilda, Clara and Gerhard; and many other relatives, He was preceded in death by his siblings, Edward, Beno, Reinholdt and Anna.
Mr. Baltruweit was a resident of Lombard since 1946. He retired in 1992 as a machinist from Arrow/Gear Co. in Downers Grove.

Bryan Christian

Bryan D. Christian, 23, of Villa Park, died Sunday, June 3.
Visitation will be Friday, June 8, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment is private.
Mr. Christian was the son of Karen (David) Lass; brother of Dalton Lass; grandson of Victor (Donna) Peterson and Howard and Pauline Lass; and nephew and cousin of many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lorrie (Herman) Miedema.

John Counsell

John Counsell, 88, of Elmhurst, died Sunday, June 3.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 5, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mr. Counsell is survived by his companion, Priscilla Domanias; son, Cliff (Lenore); stepdaughter, Marlene (Scott) Stemple; two grandchildren; brother, Jim (Janet); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lilly Darbyshire, William (Margaret) and Margaret (Gene) Bush.
Mr. Counsell was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a lifelong ComEd employee, retired. He was a member of the Elmhurst American Legion Post #187.

Vernon Hoffswell Jr.

Vernon A. Hoffswell Jr., 74, of Lombard, died Saturday, June 2—his late parents’ wedding anniversary—at Wood Glen Pavilion in West Chicago.
Funeral services are being held today, June 6, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment is private at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Hoffswell is survived by his children, Michael A. (Julia), Diane L. (George) Wall and Ann Marie (Gary) Harris; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth M. (Rose Ann), Nancy M. (Robert) Manna of Lombard and Geraldine L. (Ron) Ridley; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and former wife, Dolores Burnett. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon A. Sr. and Mary M.
Mr. Hoffswell was born in Chicago, was a resident of Lombard for 47 years and was a former Lombard Fire Department volunteer. He was considered a child of God, a blessing to all who knew him and thought to be the sweetest man in the world.

Silvio Lavorini

Funeral services for Silvio B. Lavorini, 83, of Villa Park, are being held today, June 6, from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, to services at Grace Lutheran Church in Villa Park. Interment is at Elm Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Lavorini is survived by his sons, David and John (Carrie); two grandchildren; and was the uncle of many. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma J.; and siblings, Daniel (Jean), Gloria (Joe), Frances (Gibby) and Lillian (Raymond).
Mr. Lavorini was a devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Joann Mittelstadt

Joann Mittelstadt, nee Goebel, 78, of Lombard, died Tuesday, May 29, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 2, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Forest Home Cemetery in Forest Park.
Mrs. Mittelstadt is survived by her children, Michael (Barb), Janice and the Rev. Richard (Lynn); six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce (William) Ackerman of Lombard; and one niece and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; and nephew, Martin Ackerman.
Mrs. Mittelstadt was a resident of Lombard since 1962. She had worked at Carson’s at Yorktown in Lombard for 10 years, was a member of the Sodbusters Garden Club, enjoyed bowling and was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where she had been active in the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s.

Shirley Rozanski

Funeral services for Shirley M. Rozanski, 80, nee Johnson Zarbock, were held Friday, June 1, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.
Mrs. Rozanski is survived by her children, Cathy (the late Tom) Willett, Eileen (Dennis) Sullivan and Marsha (Lou) Metcalf; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; infant child, Ronnie; and sister, Irene (the late George) Bouska.
Mrs. Rozanski’s hobbies included sewing, gardening, traveling, and enjoying and caring for her family.

Lloyd Scott

Lloyd “Pop” Scott, 89, of Addison, died Thursday, May 31, at DuPage Convalescent Center in Wheaton.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 7, at Grace Bible Church in Elmhurst. Interment is private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Mr. Scott is survived by his children, M. Lynn Payne (Warren Wollschlager), Cheryl A. (George) Yapp; Debra M. (Darrell) Overbey; David L. Scott and Loydeen S. (Russell) Reichman; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Irma Pygman and Leone (Harold) Peterson; and special friend, Ginger. He was preceded in death by his wife, Millie; and parents, George Washington and Esther Clara Scott.
Mr. Scott was a resident of Addison for nine years and was formerly of Elmhurst for 44 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and was a Purple Heart recipient. He had worked for Al’s Sheet Metal in Chicago for 27 years, was a member of Union Local #73 and was a member of the Moose.

John Shea

John “Jack” Shea, 68, of Lombard, passed away early Monday, May 28.
A memorial was held on Friday, June 1, at First Church of Lombard. 
Jack is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marilyn; his son, Patrick (Charleen); his brother, James (Linda) of Anaheim, Calif.; his sister, Judith (Jay) Fulkerson of Owosso, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joel; his father, James; and his mother, Betty.
Jack was a graduate of Southern Illinois University and an employee of CNA Financial for 37 years. He had a great appreciation for music, crossword puzzles and sudoku.

Louis Trongale

Louis J. Trongale, 64, of Villa Park, died Saturday, June 2.
Services and interment are private.
Mr. Trongale is survived by his brother, Nicholas (Elizabeth); and was the uncle of Megan and Danny. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Mary Trongale; and sisters, Nicolette Trongale and Maria Sulita.
