Adele Castillo

A memorial service for Adele Catherine “Mel” Castillo, nee Moltros, 76, of Villa Park, was held Sunday, March 11, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Mrs. Castillo is survived by her husband, Robert L.; children, Robert J. (Joanna), Steven (LeAnn), Patricia (John) Snyder and Nancy (Richard) Ryan; six grandchildren; sister, Nan (Norm) Bach; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Jean Westendorf, Marge Harmeyer and Tom Moltros.

Mary Lee Chlapecka

Mary Lee Chlapecka, nee Hensley, 81, of Lombard, died Wednesday, March 7, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 12, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Church in Lombard. Interment was private.
Mrs. Chlapecka is survived by her children, Jerry (Ania) Garrett, Bernard “Alan” Jr. (Gina), Stephen (Jeff Jones), Anthony (Patrice) and Eleanor Thompson of Lombard; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Elsie Childers and Eli (Connie) Hensley; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bernard Chlapecka and Dallas Garrett; brother, Monty (the late Mossie) Hensley; and brother-in-law, George Childers.

Susan Jirsa

Susan J. Jirsa, nee Mayer, 79, of Glen Ellyn, died Saturday, March 10, at Providence Health Care Center, Downers Grove.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 17, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. Interment will be Monday, March 19 at Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City, Ind.
Mrs. Jirsa is survived by her children, Beverly, Douglas (Marie), Barbara (Sean Monaghan) Jirsa and Laura Lee of Glen Ellyn; three grandchildren; brother, Robert (Carol) Mayer of Texas; sister-in-law, Ruth; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred R., whom she married in 1956; sister, Phyllis Gregory; and brothers, Charles “Jack” and Louis “Jim.”
Mrs. Jirsa was born in Michigan City, Ind., and grew up in Oak Park, where she attended Emerson School and graduated from Oak Park High School in 1950. She met her future husband at a meeting of the Fort-niters singles club. They remained active as the group turned into a couples club. 
From her husband, Mrs. Jirsa learned to love camping vacations, especially at Peninsula Park in Door County, Wis. They were avid pinochle players and taught the game to their children. In later years, she enjoyed swimming at the Glen Ellyn YMCA and socializing with the Y seniors.

La Verne Lange

La Verne R. Lange, nee Graff, 90, of Lombard, died Monday, March 5, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 9, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mrs. Lange is survived by her children, Tom (Debbie), Beth (Mike) Bailey of Lombard, David (Karen) and Bill (Sherri); seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; and parents, Albert and Mabel Graff.
Mrs. Lange was a resident of Lombard since 1952 and was a resident of Beacon Hill for 12 years. She had attended Thornton High School and the Chicago Teacher’s College, and was a retired teacher from District 45. She had also worked at West Suburban Bank, retiring in 1996.

Margaret Lessman

Margaret V. Lessman, nee Blahetka, 83, of Lombard, died Monday, March 5, at Lexington Health Care in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 10, at the Maple Street Chapel in Lombard. Interment was private at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mrs. Lessman is survived by her children, Clifton H. (Tammie) and Barbara J. Vogt of Lombard; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold C.
Mrs. Lessman was a resident of Lombard for 58 years. She was a member of First Church of Lombard and was active in the Women’s Fellowship and with the Quilters and Crafters. She volunteered at the Community Table at First Church of Lombard, was an avid bingo player and loved to camp, bowl and golf.

Ralph E. Magerkurth

Ralph E. Magerkurth, born Jun 13, 1925, passed away Feb. 27, 2012.
Services were held Monday, March 5, 2012, at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 82021.
Mr. Magerkurth is survived by his children, Edward W. Magerkurth, Stephen D. Magerkurth, Starr D. Blanchard, Ralph F. Magerkurth and Dawn (Magerkurth) Roth; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Betty Sieloff

Funeral services for Betty J. Sieloff, nee Johnson, were held Tuesday, March 13, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Elm Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Sieloff is survived by her children, Charles (Linda) and Patricia (Charles) Tiberi; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C.; and two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Sieloff was a longtime resident of Villa Park.
