Edna Doyle

Edna May Doyle, nee Gorry, 94, of Villa Park, formerly of Madison, Wis., died Saturday, May 5, in Villa Park, surrounded by family.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 8, at Oak Brook Community Church, Oak Brook.
Mrs. Doyle is survived by her children, Maureen (Kenneth) Martinson, Joanne (Dane) Cuny, Thomas and Richard (Marybeth); 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene (B. Arden) Taylor and Betty (Jerome) Motelet; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Joseph F; and son, Tery and his wife Judy.
Mrs. Doyle was born in Madison, Wis., the daughter of George and Josephine Gorry.

Walter Hoffman Jr.

Funeral services for Walter K. “Wally” Hoffman Jr., 71, were held Friday, May 4, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Elm Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Hoffman is survived by his wife, Georgeann; daughter, Sharon (Robert) Esterly; two grandchildren; brothers, John (Nina) and Thomas (Laura); many nieces and nephews; and he will be missed by Jack and Callie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanne and Walter Sr.; and son, Michael.
Mr. Hoffman was a retired paid/on call lieutenant with the Villa Park Fire Department.

Helen Pinc

Helen Pinc, nee Kozak, 96, of Lombard, died Wednesday, May 2, in Westmont.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 5, from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Christ the King Church in Lombard, with the Rev. Peter Jarosz officiating. Interment was at Resurrection Cemetery.
Mrs. Pinc is survived by her children, Edward D. and June (Richard) Bunza; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; son, Donald E. (Jane Hickey); and two brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Pinc had worked as a clerk for Western Electric and AT&T.

Estelle Stone

Estelle Stone, 102, died Wednesday, May 2, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 4, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, with Deacon Frank of Christ the King Church officiating. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Stone is survived by her daughter, Janet (Tom) Mullen; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and was the aunt and great-aunt of many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Joseph George.
Mrs. Stone had worked in administration, business.

Jack Swissler

Jack Swissler, 77, of San Diego, Calif., formerly of Lombard, died April 29 in San Diego.
A memorial service will be held in Lombard in June (date and time to be determined).
Mr. Swissler was the father of Lori (Tony) Mendoza, Suzy (Daniel) Gilleon and the late Steven Swissler; grandfather of eight; brother of Robert (Roberta) Swissler; brother-in-law of John (the late sister Patricia) Rahm; uncle of numerous nieces and nephews; and loving companion of Nancy Solyom.  
Mr. Swissler grew up in Chicago, served in the Korean War, while living in Japan, and devoted 40 years to Swissler Bros. Plumbing Inc. He enjoyed horse racing, tennis, traveling, bicycling and most of all visiting with his family.

Nancy Wagner

Nancy J. “Bonnie” Wagner, 79, of Villa Park, died Wednesday, May 2, in Westmont.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, May 8, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elburn.
Mrs. Wagner is survived by her children, Scott (Beth), Wendy (Bill) Dunne and Sheri Stapleton; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Roberta Bogusch; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; parents, Charles and Jean Kerbec; and sister, Carole Tippett.
Mrs. Wagner lived her entire life in the Chicagoland area. She loved to knit and crochet and was an avid reader. She was a dedicated longtime employee of Elmhurst College.

Madlyn Wolff

Mrs. Wolff is survived by her husband, Frank; children, Christine (Anthony) LaRusso and Debbie; one grandchild; sisters, Bernice (Bobby) Mazzone and Annette Aguilar; sisters-in-law, Patricia Mathez and Sandy Sauer; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Maryann Bartoziak and Pat Caparella.

Violet Zersen

Violet M. Zersen, nee Thiesse, 94, of Winfield, formerly of Lombard, died Sunday, May 6, in Winfield.
A gathering and celebration of life will be held Sunday, May 13, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. The celebration will continue at a restaurant to be determined. Interment is private at Itasca Cemetery.
Mrs. Zersen is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Fred) Olsen, Sylvia (James) Turus and Janet Saltsgaver; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph (Maggie) Zielske; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph.
