Diane Anderson

Diane M. Anderson, nee Bross, 74, of Glen Ellyn, formerly of Carol Stream, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Central DuPage Hospital.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Nov. 10, at St. Thomas United Methodist Church in Glen Ellyn. Interment was private.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by her husband, William E.; children, Joan (Jeff) Fritsch, Amy (Kevin) Schilling and William F. Jr.; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Katherine Anderson, M.D.
Mrs. Anderson grew up in Chicago and lived there until she moved to Carol Stream in 1961. In 2004, she moved to Glen Ellyn, where she lived the rest of her life. She graduated from Lake View High School in Chicago and worked for the Carol Stream city government from 1987 to 2000. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #0076 and loved golfing.

Ralph Bell Jr.

Ralph R. Bell Jr., 78, of Lombard, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Lexington Square in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 10, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment is pending.
Mr. Bell is survived by his wife of 54 years, Myrna; children, Stephen (Carol), Michael (Linda), Richard (Cindy) and Kristen (John) Wahler; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and siblings, Carl (Gladys) Bell and Mildred Carey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph R. Bell Sr. and Cora; stepmother, Margaret Hendrickson; and siblings, Ruth Roach, Dorothy Cross, Rebekah Strom and Claude.
Mr. Bell was a lifelong resident of Lombard and had resided on Park Avenue for 53 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and had retired from Charles Equipment Co. in Addison after over 35 years. He was a very active member of the Lombard Bible Church, where he had held most offices, including deacon, board member, Sunday school superintendent and song leader. He “could fix anything but a broken heart” and was an avid fisherman.

Florence Birchard

Florence I. Birchard, nee Holderman, 105, of Lombard, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 9, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, with the Rev. Ronald Greene officiating. Interment was at Ridgewood Cemetery.
Mrs. Birchard is survived by her children, Charles F. and Charlene (Algis) Tiknius; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Louise Bowman; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Franklin; and siblings, Joy, Robert, Helen, Marie and John.
Mrs. Birchard was born in Nappanee, Ind., and was a retired Bellwood District 88 teacher at McKinley Grade School and Roosevelt Junior High School.

Helen Dandan

Helen B. Dandan, 79, formerly of Lombard, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, Wis.
A visitation was held Thursday, Nov. 8, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Dandan is survived by her children, Nabil (Ketty), Nabila Shaer, Fadia (Fares) Otaky, Nadia (Kamal) Daniel, Remonda (Nicolas) Otaky, Antoinette (Abdlah) Saad, Issa (Vivian), Tony (Helen) and Raymond (Josian); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raja; and son-in-law, George Shaer.
Mrs. Dandan loved to knit and crochet, enjoyed cooking, and was a devoted housewife who loved taking care of her family and home.

Bernice H. Keller

Funeral services for Bernice H. Keller, 89, formerly of Carol Stream, were held Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Cypress Funeral Home, 1698 N. Bloomingdale Road, Glendale Heights.
Mrs. Keller was the beloved wife of the late Clayton Sr.; loving mother of Mary (Edward) Hartwick, Edith (Charles) Murphy, Clayton Jr. (Karen) Keller and Kenneth (Joan) Keller; cherished grandmother of nine and to the late Gavin Keller; and adored great-grandmother of 10.

Robert Klett

Robert W. Klett, 83, a lifelong resident of Lombard, died Monday, Nov. 5, in Lombard after valiantly fighting cancer for one-and-a-half years.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 8, at Grace Church of DuPage, Warrenville. Interment was private.
Mr. Klett is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gertrude; children, Linda, Sharon (Alan) Dyck, Daniel (Connie) and Kristen (Mike) Tosaw; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Virginia; brother-in-law, William Smallman; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald; and sister, Doris Smallman.
Mr. Klett was the owner/operator of Klett Appliances in Lombard from 1957-72, and worked with the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County in maintenance and as an electrician. He is remembered as someone who was able to fix anything and willing to help everyone. He enjoyed traveling, working in his garden and running his G-scale model trains, and was a member of the Chicago Area Railway Society.
