Geraldine Burke

Geraldine “Jerre” Burke, age 85, born Oct. 21, 1927, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospice.
A private memorial services will be held for family and close friends. 
Ms. Burke is survived by her beloved family including her children, Ricki Trudeau, Timothy Burke (Lisa) and Cheryl Akers (Bill); granddaughters, Michelle LaBonar (Len) and  Kristine Harrison (Phil); and five great-grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Joshua and Andrew.
Ms. Burke was born in Oak Park, Ill., and lived in the western Chicagoland suburbs for her entire life, with her most recent time spent in Lombard. Ms. Burke’s greatest priority and joy in life were the times she spent with family. She also received great satisfaction out of volunteering with many different charities, and was always giving of her time and energy. She will be sorely missed, but never forgotten in the hearts and minds of many.

Ralph North

Funeral services for Ralph F. North, 79, formerly of Villa Park, were held Saturday, Oct. 20, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mr. North is survived by his wife, Rochelle “Cookie”; children, Lori (John) Guba, Eileen Mikula and Greg (Heidi); six grandchildren; siblings, Sylvia Forst, Ella Holthouse and Roger (Pat) North; brother-in-law, Marshall (Helen) Lavin; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. North was retired after 31 years as a Villa Park police officer.

Lois Papacek

Lois F. Papacek, originally of Melrose Park, died Thursday, Oct. 18, in Lombard, where she was most recently residing.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 20, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mrs. Papacek is survived by her husband of 25 years, George; stepson, Lawrence; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Glenn Batty; stepson, Alan Papacek; and a grandson, Peter Papacek.
After a long career as an executive personal assistant at Amphenol in Cicero, Mrs. Papacek and her husband retired to Deerfield, Fla., to enjoy golf and the company of friends. She was an avid animal lover, a good cook and a devoted partner.

William Karl Stock

William Karl “Bud” Stock, age 87, passed away Sept. 3, 2012, at Brookside Village in Jasper, Ind.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at St John’s Lutheran Church, Lombard, Ill. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mr. Stock is survived by one son, William “Bill” Stock, and spouse Martha; two daughters, Ms. Nicolette Stock and Barbara Cecchi, and spouse Dr. Roy Cecchi; and two grandchildren, Christina and Kimberly Stock. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; and one brother, Elmer Stock.
Mr. Stock was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Lombard, Ill., to William Otto and Ida (Eilrich) Stock. He attended St. John's Lutheran School and graduated high school from Glenbard West High School in Glen Ellyn, Ill., in 1943. He was a World War II veteran where he served with the 79th Infantry Division in Europe and became a POW. He married Evelyn G. Schlak on March 3, 1951, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lombard, Ill. He worked as a butcher for Jewel for 44 years.

Eleanor Tabbert

Eleanor M. Tabbert, 87, formerly of Villa Park, died Friday, Oct. 19, in Texas.
Visitation and funeral services are being held Thursday, Oct. 25, at Brust Villa Park Funeral Home, 305 S. Princeton, Villa Park. Interment is at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Ms. Tabbert is survived by her sister, Joan Benson; and niece and nephews, Darlene (Mike) Tortorillo, Richard (Marilyn) Zbilski and Gary (Gari) Zbilski. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Nance Tabbert of Villa Park; and sister, Nancy Straff.
Ms. Tabbert grew up in Villa Park and was a resident of Villa Park for 80 years. She was a graduate of York High School and was retired from the U.S. government as a secretary. She had moved to Texas seven years ago.

Beth Tabor

Beth Tabor, nee Wilczenski, 59, of Glendale Heights, died suddenly Friday, Oct. 19, in Glendale Heights.
Funeral services are being held today, Oct. 24, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at St. Matthew Church in Glendale Heights. Interment is at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mrs. Tabor is survived by her sister-in-law, Elaine H. Tabor of Lombard; stepdaughter, Amber C.; sister, Deborah Carson; special sister, Debbie (Bob) Jungels; two nieces and two nephews; cousin, Joyce (Don) Fiske; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny J.
Mrs. Tabor grew up in Lombard until 1983, when she moved to Glendale Heights. She graduated from Schafer School and Willowbrook High School, and attended Illinois State University. She worked for Chicago Blower as a programmer in engineering for 25 years, was a Eucharist minister at St. Matthew Church and taught crochet there. She made rosaries at church every Tuesday.

Donald C. Wadolny

Donald C. Wadolny, age 87, of Lombard, Ill., formerly of Brooksville, Fla., passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at the Beacon Hill Health Center in Lombard.
A memorial service is being held Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Beacon Hill Retirement Center, 2400 S. Finley Road, Lombard, IL 60148. Family inurnment is private.
Born May 31, 1925, in Chicago, Ill., Mr. Wadolny was the beloved husband of the late Norene Ann Wadolny, whom he married in 1948; cherished father of Lynnette (Kenneth) Jatczak and Donnette (Daniel) Begian; loving grandfather of Benjamin and Bradley Lambrechts, Jason, Matthew and Jenna Jatczak; and fond brother of Charlene (the late Gordan) Frey.
Don was a U.S. Marine, proudly serving his country during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He was involved in many organizations while residing in Lombard, including: chairman of the Lilac Parade, Bicentennial Parade, commander of the VFW Post, and 1976 “Man of the Year” recipient of Lombard. Don was also a 40-year dedicated employee of Commonwealth Edison.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Salvation Army, 437 E. Galena Blvd., Aurora, IL 60505, would be appreciated.

William Worland

Funeral services for William F. Worland, 92, a lifelong resident of Villa Park, were held Monday, Oct. 22, at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.
Mr. Worland is survived by his nephews and niece, Paul (Mary Ellen) Worland, Tim (Jodie) Worland and Mary (Randy) Urban; and was the great-uncle of five. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claudius and Mabel Worland; brother, Claude (Ella) Worland; and nephew, Daniel Worland.

Russell Wright

Russell G. Wright, 71, of Traverse City, Mich., died suddenly Monday, Oct. 15, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.
A memorial service is pending in Traverse City.
Mr. Wright is survived by his children, Virginia (Murad) Erguven of Lombard, Robert (Susan) and Terri Green; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; and brother, the Rev. James B. Wright.
Mr. Wright was a resident of Traverse City and was formerly of Troy, Mich. He grew up in Farmington, Mich., and had worked for IBM for 30 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Elks Club in Traverse City.
