Eileen Blaney

Eileen Blaney, nee Paradis, 82, of Villa Park, died Saturday, April 6, in Villa Park.
Funeral services are being held today, April 10, from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with the Rev. George Zieba officiating. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Blaney is survived by her children, James M. (Cheryl A.), Kevin (the late Jo Anne), Larry (Connie) and Sharon (Daniel) Jezowit; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James P.; and two sisters and one brother.
Mrs. Blaney had worked as an office manager in a retail store.

Virginia Evelyn Bonesteel

Virginia Bonesteel died at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Sunday, March 10. Since the passing of her husband Henry (Hank) A. Bonesteel, she has been a resident at Beacon Hill, a retirement community in Lombard, Ill. Virginia and Henry celebrated 59 years of marriage before his death in 1999.
Virginia was the daughter of Vern and Esther (Polzin) Ferris. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Theron (Ted) Ferris; and a half-sister; Geraldine.
Virginia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert A. and Marylou; three grandchildren, Robert  M., Timothy A. (Kati) and Kristina L. (Michael Swanson) Bonesteel;  a niece, Joan (Michael) McCarney; two nephews, Don (Michelle) Nash and Henry Richard (Teresa) Nash; and many other great-nieces and great-nephews.
Virginia was born in Chicago in 1921, and was a resident there until 1950 when she and her husband moved to suburban Chicago, living in Calumet City, Villa Park and Lombard, respectively, over the years.
A longtime resident of the Villa Park and Lombard communities, Virginia especially enjoyed her associations with the Republican Women’s Club and the Lombard Garden Club, as well as the fellowship of friends she made playing cards in various pinochle groups.
A private memorial gathering and internment is planned for a date in April. Her remains will be interred next to her husband’s in Chapel Hill Gardens, Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.

James V. “Jake” Corrough

James V. “Jake” Corrough Jr. of Lombard died in his home on Thursday, April 4, the day before his 73rd birthday.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 13, at First United Methodist Church, 155 S. Main Street, Lombard.
Mr. Corrough is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children, Sara (Jeff) Teppema, James (Rachel) and William (Elaine); five grandchildren; and sister, Nancy (Robert) Taylor.
Mr. Corrough was born in Lake Forest, Ill., to James V. Corrough and Mary (Roberts) Corrough on April 5, 1940. He spent much of his childhood in Mason City, Iowa, and graduated valedictorian from Mason City High School in 1958.
Mr. Corrough attended Beloit College and then graduated from Iowa State University in 1962 with a degree in industrial engineering. He married Evelyn “Bunny” Bracken in 1966, and they settled in Lombard where they lived for almost 45 years. Mr. Corrough worked for the Nielson Co., in various roles, one for over 30 years. He was an active member of their “Fan Club” (Friends of Art Nielsen Club) after he retired.
Mr. Corrough was a rabid Chicago Bears fan and one of his greatest memories was flying to New Orleans to see the Bears win Super Bowl XX in 1986. He loved all sports, especially high school sports. Mr. Corrough continued to attend high school football games long after his own children graduated high school. He even freelanced as a high school sports reporter for his local newspapers.
Mr. Corrough also loved music and sang with the West Towns Barbershop Chorus for many years, including 1987, when the chorus won an international competition in Hartford. He sang in several award-winning barbershop quartets. Mr. Corrough could spend hours playing the piano by ear, usually old jazz and rock standards. Mr. Corrough delighted in the sports and musical achievements of his five grandchildren, attending as many of their games and concerts as he could.

Loretta L. Gottfried

Loretta L. Gottfried, nee Bezik, age 89, was the beloved wife of the late Carl; devoted mother of Jan (Mark) Jenca; loving grandmother of Dan, Amy, Jen and the late Mark Jr. Jenca; great- grandmother of Danielle, Nick, Ashley, Max, Jake, Jillie, Mia and Jax; dear sister of Bea Terrel; and fond aunt of many.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 8, at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17W201 Roosevelt Road., (just west of Rte. 83) Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.

Joseph Jesensky Sr.

Visitation for Joseph Jesensky Sr., 93, of Chicago, will be today, April 10, at Muzyka & Son Funeral Home, 5776 W. Lawrence Ave, Chicago, from 3-9 p.m.
Family and friends will meet Thursday, April 11, at Trinity Slovak Lutheran Church, 5106 N. LaCrosse Ave, Chicago, for the funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment is at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mr. Jesensky was the loving father of Joseph Jesensky Jr., Peggy (David) Marshall, Ann (Randy) Ruhlow and Betty Jesensky; dear grandfather of Kristen (Ian) Olsen, Aaron and Madeline Ruhlow, Nikki and Suzy Teuschler; cherished great-grandfather of Miette Olsen; and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wives, Katherine, nee Cooke, and Dorothy, nee Prisching; and his siblings, Eleanor, Steffie, and twin brother George Jesensky Jr.
Mr. Jesensky was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.

Christine C. Opolony

Christine C. Opolony, 65 years. old, of Freeport and a former resident of Lombard, passed away on Tuesday March 26, 2013, in her home.
She was born in Chicago, Ill., on Jan. 22, 1948, the daughter of Ted and Helen (Bartosiewicz) Bishop. Christine graduated from Madonna Catholic High School in Chicago; after graduating, she joined Thomas E. Opolony in marriage on June 20, 1970, at the Basilica of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Chicago. Christine was a homemaker and a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Freeport and St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Villa Park.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas; daughters, Kathleen and Dawn; her son, Thomas J. (Heather); and sisters, Kathleen Bittler and Elizabeth Kulikowski. She was preceded by her parents; and her brother, Bob.
Services have already been held.

Thomas H. Rudnik

Thomas H. Rudnik, 74, of Lombard, died Monday, April 1, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 6, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private.
Mr. Rudnik is survived by his wife, Margaret H.; children, Thomas J. (Juliette) and Julie (Ken) Neubauer of Lombard; one grandson; siblings, Father John, Joseph, Bernard (Karen), Dorothy Neven and Mary (Thomas) Hurt of Lombard; sister-in-law, Gean, and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces-and -nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald; sister, Martha Lassa; and brother-in-law, William Neven.

Richard Rymut

Funeral services for Richard C. Rymut, 80, of Villa Park, were held Saturday, April 6, at St. Alexander Church Gathering Space in Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mr. Rymut is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Joanne (Todd) Gillian and Michael (Debra); six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Casey and Matthew Rymut.

Louise A. Schweihs died Wednesday, April 3.
