George Lodens

George E. Lodens, 81, of Lombard, died Saturday, Nov. 30 in Lombard.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment is private.
Mr. Lodens is survived by his sons, Ivo (Cheryl) of Lombard and Edwin; three grandchildren; sister, Benny Peters; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Thea; and sisters, Lieke and Tate.
Mr. Lodens grew up in Holland and the Dutch East Indies. He was a resident of Lombard since 1971. Mr. Lodens was a veteran of the Royal Dutch Air Force. He had retired from the Raani Corporation in the Chicago area as a production manager.

Karl M. Rindt

Karl M. Rindt, 86, of Lombard, died Saturday, Nov. 30, at Manor Care Health, Westmont.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 6, from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Church, Lombard. Interment is pending.
Mr. Rindt is survived by his wife of 48 years, Maria; children, Lydia and Harvey (Theresa); two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy M. Randazzo.
Mr. Rindt was a resident of Lombard for 46 years, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retired salesman   and was a former member of Toastmaster’s in Glen Ellyn.

Glenn F. Wood

Glenn F. Wood, 88, of Lombard, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 30 at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.
Mr. Wood is survived by his children, Geoffrey (Sabrina), Paul (Mary), Lowell (Stella), Ron (the Rev. Kim) and Chelle of Lombard; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy (Cliff) Culpepper. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Eldonna.
Mr. Wood was a resident of Lombard for 80 years. He graduated from Lincoln School and Glenbard High School and attended Elmhurst College and Northwestern University Law School.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946 and earned the Navy Unit Commendation Medal; campaign medals for American area, European-African area and the Asiatic-Pacific area; the Philippine Liberation Medal; Good Conduct Medal; and the World War II Victory Medal. He served on fleet tugs and sub chasers.
Mr. Wood was a licensed real estate broker and insurance broker. He was a member of The Society of Real Estate Appraisers. He worked as a real estate appraiser for Fairfield Savings & Loan in Chicago for 35 years. He was a former member of the Lombard Jaycees.
He was a member of Lombard Lodge 1098 AF&AM and a life member of the Lombard VFW Lilac Post 5815. He was a two-time commander for the Lombard American Legion Post 391 and was past president of the Lombard PTA for Lombard Elementary School District 44.
Mr. Wood was a Republican Party precinct committeeman and a candidate for Illinois House of Representatives in 1964 and was a candidate for Illinois State Senate in 1966. He was a former lay leader at the First Methodist Church in Lombard.
