Thomas Kolodziej

Thomas John Kolodziej, 58, of Lombard, lost his three year battle with cancer Feb. 11.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 14, at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mr. Kolodziej is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Adrienne and Haley; siblings, Joan (John) Bugay and Bill (Carol) Kolodziej; father-in-law, Stephen Considine; in-laws, James (Marie), Michael (Linda), Kevin (Denise), Tim (Katie), Paul (Yolanda) Considine and Katie (David) Berry; and was the uncle and cousin of many.
Mr. Kolodziej was a journeyman cabinet maker for 33 years and also a commercial exhibit display project manager.

John McCutcheon

John W. McCutcheon, 59, of Chicago, died suddenly Feb. 13.
A visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 17, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Mr. McCutcheon is survived by his mother, Barbara “Sugar” Fecarotta- Fowler; siblings, Kim Davis, Michael McCutcheon, Renee Russo and Frankie Fowler; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews Andre, Kurt, Giana, Michael and Isabella. He was preceded in death by his father, John A.; and grandparents, Rose and Anthony Fecarotta.
Mr. McCutcheon was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge. He was a lovable man and never complained, had a passion and talent in football, and was always happy and laughing at himself. His favorite saying was “yeah-right-uh huh.”

Carole Ann McNickle

Carole Ann McNickle, nee Howe, 61, died Feb. 5.
A memorial gathering was held Friday, Feb. 15, at Grace Bible Church in Elmhurst.
Mrs. McNickle is survived by her husband of 39 years, Alan; and children, Allison, Meredith and Alan; and siblings, Ronn, Roger, Larry, Donna, Robert, Stephen, John and James. She was preceded in death by her parents, Evans and Grace.
Mrs. McNickle was a reliable and resourceful call center manager at Eddie Z’s Blinds and Draperies for 11 years.

Frank Nelson

Frank W. Nelson, 88, of Lombard, died Feb. 12 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, with Deacon Frank Lillig officiating. Interment was private.
Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife, Audrey J.; son, Frank W.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Yalmer Nilsson, Esther Dahlquist, Elna Fredriksson, Astrid Lindberg, Anders Nilsson, Ernst Nilsson and Zaralt Gustafsson.
Mr. Nelson was born in Sweden and was an iron worker and member of Iron Workers Union Local #1.

Edward Quitter

Edward J. Quitter, 57, of Lombard, died Feb. 17 at a family home.
Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 21, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 22, with prayers from the funeral home to Mass at St. Pius X Church in Lombard. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Quitter is survived by his wife, Nicolette S.; daughters, Josephine (Jeff) Ceglarek and Jacqueline (Mario) Quitter; four grandchildren; sister, Betty A. Quitter of Lombard; and one nephew and one great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph; and sister, Margaret Probst.
Mr. Quitter was a resident of Lombard for 14 years and was formerly of Chicago. He attended St. Michael’s Grade School and Carl Schurz High School in Chicago-Old Town. He worked for Gamma Photo as a photo tech and and also worked at Road Ranger in Lombard and Budget Rent A Car.

Robert Wood

Robert Fred Wood, 86, a 55-year resident of Villa Park, died Feb. 16.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mr. Wood is survived by his children, Marie “Toni” (Jerry) Fencl and Holly (Richard) Bowen; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (the late Elizabeth) Wood; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern W.
Mr. Wood was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a longtime Chicago Cubs fan.
