Norma Beck

Norma J. Beck, 80, of Mt. Morris and formerly of Oregon and Lombard, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Rosewood Care Center in St. Charles, Ill.
She was born Dec. 17, 1932, in Chicago, the daughter of Charles and Ruth (Anderson) Pugh. She was united in marriage to Jerome Beck on April 30, 1966, in Bellwood, Ill. She graduated from Proviso East High School in 1950. Norma worked at Commonwealth Edison for many years as a switchboard operator and in the service department before getting married and raising a family. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Oregon.
Norma is survived by her beloved husband, Jerome “Jerry” Beck of Mt. Morris; her loving children, Timothy (Kim) Beck of Wheaton and Pamela (Art) Miehle of Villa Park; her grandchildren, Abigail, Hannah and Timothy Beck, and Anna Miehle; her siblings, Genevieve (Don) Halffield of St. Charles and George (Phyllis) Pugh of Leesburg, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte Snyder; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Snyder.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday June 7, in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon, with Father Joseph Naill, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, Oregon, officiating. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Oregon, following the service. Visitation is Thursday from 5-8 p.m. with an 8 p.m. Vigil Prayer Service.

Deborrah A. Crudele

A memorial visitation and service for Deborrah A. Crudele, 57, of Lombard, will be held Saturday, June 8, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Mrs. Crudele was the mother of Michael, Rocco, Patrick (Michelle) and Timothy Crudele; grandmother of one, sister of Bert (Linda) Campbell, Brian (Nancy) Campbell and Terry Kestner; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.

Efren Iraola

Funeral services for Efren Iraola, 56, of Lombard, were held Monday, June 3, from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Christ the King Church in Lombard.
Mr. Iraola was the husband of Cholie; father of Marc Efren (fiancée Chelsea); brother of the late Bernardo (Mila) Iraola, the late Vivina (the late Domingo) Malaya and the late Irma Iraola; brother-in-law of Germelina (Virgilio) Artates, Andres (Julita) Adriatico and Santiago (Celedonia) Adriatico; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Iraola was a member of Alpha Phi Omeca Philippines Chapter and was a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Faith A. McGowan

Faith A. McGowan, 55, of Santa Barbara, Calif., formerly of Lombard, died in Santa Barbara.
Public visitation will be held today, June 5, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Funeral services are private on Thursday, June 6. Interment is private at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace.
Ms. McGowan is survived by her daughters, Lauren Boldebuck of Lombard and Jenna Boldebuck; mother, Emily McGowan of Lombard; sister, Joy (John) Michel; and three nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, John McGowan; and brother, George McGowan.
Ms. McGowan was a real estate broker.

Elizabeth Mitchell

Visitation and funeral services for Elizabeth “Betty” Mitchell, nee Wylie, 92, of Villa Park, will be held Thursday, June 6, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment is private.
Mrs. Mitchell was the wife of the late John Mitchell; mother of Ann Elizabeth Konefel, William Robert (Joyce) and John James (Sharon) Mitchell; grandmother of five, great grandmother of four; and great-great- grandmother of one.

Marjorie R. Scott

Marjorie R. Scott, nee Rexilius, 84, of Lombard, died Sunday, June 2.
Visitation will be Friday, June 7, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 8, at Lombard Bible Church, 111 S. Park, Lombard. Interment is private.
Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband of 56 years, Harold J. “Gus”; children, James (Lori) and Anne (Brad) Brown; four grandchildren; siblings, Sharon (Lloyd) Thomas, Rex Rexilius, Rolle (the late Rosalee) Rexilius and Larry (Jane) Rexilius; and was the aunt and great aunt of many. She was preceded in death by her brother, James (the late Grace) Rexilius, and her nephew, Thomas.
Mrs. Scott was born in Ithaca, Neb., to the late Rosa and Arthur Rexilius.  She lived in Nebraska until 1946, attending school in District 16’s one-room schoolhouse through the eighth grade, and then completing grades nine through 11 in Beatrice, Neb.  She moved with her family to Wheaton in 1946, where she graduated from Wheaton Academy in 1947. 
Mrs. Scott took nurses training at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park from 1947-50. She graduated from Wheaton College in 1952 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.  She devoted 33 of the next 36 years to nursing, first at the Geneva Community Hospital from 1968-88. 
Mrs. Scott’s love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ sustained her throughout her life. She was a 60-year member of the Lombard Bible Church and devoted herself to service to her church as the pianist for 55 years and in many other areas of ministry.

Norbert J. Zapinski

Norbert J. Zapinski, 80, of Lombard, died May 29 in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 3 with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lombard. Interment was at Assumption Cemetery, Winfield.
Mr. Zapinski is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia; children, Michael, Robert (Susan), Kenneth (Christine), Charles (Dorothy) and Tricia (Bill) Hunt; 11 grandchildren; and brother, James. M.
 Mr. Zapinski had worked for 43 years at James McHugh Construction.  His first project was Marina City and he had also worked on the Presidential Towers and Arlington Park Race Track.  His greatest satisfaction had come from renovating the Lyric Opera House.  He was an active member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and with the Holy Name Society. 
Mr. Zapinski enjoyed golfing and sports—especially his grandchildren’s sports. He loved to travel. Mr. Zapinski had served on the Planning Commission in Lombard.
