Steven A. Burns

Steven A. Burns, 64, of Lombard, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov 9, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mr. Burns was the husband of Amelia “Jeannie”; father of Jim (Shelly) Paganelis and Denise Malatia; and grandfather of one.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Eugene R. Kurtz

Eugene R. Kurtz, formerly of Lombard, passed away peacefully Nov. 4, 2013 in Watsontown, Pa. He is survived by his wife, Ida Mae Kurtz.  He has a daughter, Susan Flores (Joe); and a son, Robert Kurtz (Molly); along with five grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Kurtz; and parents, Ida and Robert L. Kurtz.
Eugene was a graduate of Bucknell University with a B.S. in mechanical engineering. He worked for Darling Valve of Williamsport, Pa., and Sargent & Lundy Engineers of Chicago. He was a Korean War veteran and a 50-year member of the Masons.  Eugene enjoyed his family, grandchildren and card games. His love was the Pennsylvania mountains, the clear running streams and the peace and solitude that came with them.
A memorial service is planned in Watsontown.

Marcia A. Meier

Marcia A. Meier 70, of Lombard, died Sunday, Nov. 10, in Downers Grove.
Visitation is Friday, Nov 15, at Steuerle Funeral Home 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Mrs. Meier was the wife of John I.; and mother of Anne (Ben) Lilly, Christine Meier and Nerio (Clelia) Flores.

Tosca A. Menicocci

A cemetery service for Tosca A Menicocci, 95, formerly of Chicago and Bolingbrook, will be held today, Nov. 13, at Queen of Heaven, Hillside. Meet at the office. He died Saturday, Nov. 9, in Lombard.
Ms. Menicocci was the sister of Mona Fedder; aunt of six nieces and nephews; great-aunt and great-great-aunt of many; and great-great-great aunt of two. She was preceded in death by her parents, Attilio and Italia; siblings, Aldino and Emilio Menicocci, Lena Quiriconi, Norma Gleason and Jean Chanoff; and great-nephew, Rico Quiriconi.
Until her retirement, Ms. Menicocci worked for the Ryerson Steel Co. in Chicago and enjoyed nearly 30 years of a healthy and happy retirement. She will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor and good cheer she provided to her family and friends.

Geraldine Moscardini

Geraldine “Geri” C. Moscardini, nee Clark, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, in Wisconsin.
Visitation is Thursday, Nov. 14, at Steuerle Funeral Home 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Funeral services are Friday, Nov. 15, at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
Mrs. Moscardini was the mother of Robert A. (Debbie) Moscardini; grandmother of six; great-grandmother 10; fond sister of Warren (late Hazel), W.H. (CallieAnne), Harrell (the late Mary Ann) and Gary (Patricia) Clark; and aunt to many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L.

Ernest Santeralli

Funeral services for Ernest Santeralli, 88, of Villa Park, were held Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. A committal service is being held today, Nov. 13, from the funeral home to Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mr. Santeralli was the father of Richard (Rosemary), Patricia Schwabek, Claire (Joseph) Gregoire and Ernest C. “Ernie” (Janet) of Lombard;  grandfather of seven; great-grandfather of six; brother of Lou (Ruth) Santeralli and Clara (John) Iovinelli of Schaumburg;  and relative of many others. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mollie; and siblings, Joseph, Andrew and Dominic. 
 Mr. Santeralli was a resident of Villa Park for 56 years. He was born in Chicago and grew up in Italy until age 4. He then returned to Chicago.  He owned Troy Fuel Oil in Chicago from his mid 20s until he retired at age 67, for 40-plus years. He was a member of RAI-NORS Italian American Society Club and the Breakfast Club in Oak Brook.

Irma M. Tiknius

Irma M. Tiknius, 84, died Thursday, Nov. 7, at Oakbrook Health Care Centre.
Services and interment are private.
Mrs. Tiknius is survived by her son, Algis (Charlene); daughter, Claudia; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; sister, Lore Then; and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wenzel; and sister, Lena Belcher.   
Born in 1929 in Germany, Mrs. Tiknius and husband Wenzel came to the United States in 1951. They lived in Chicago for 55 years, and she worked 44 years at World’s Finest Chocolate Co.

Olga W. Wist

Olga W. Wist, nee Wittek, 93, of Lombard, formerly of Villa Park, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Lexington Square, Lombard.
A memorial service will be Saturday, Nov. 23, at Calvary United Methodist Church in Villa Park. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Irons, Mich.
Mrs. Wist is survived by nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and a cousin, Jean (the late Henry) Gryzbac. Mrs. Wist was preceded in death by her husband, Thaddeus “Ted”; brother, John; sister-in-law, Lillian Wittek; and her parents, Ignacz and Johanna.
Mrs. Wist was a longtime member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Villa Park. She was very religious, caring and compassionate. She loved her church family and helping others.
