Charles J. Bowling

Charles J. “Chuck” Bowling, 59, of Lombard, formerly of the South Side of Chicago, died Friday, Oct.18, in Lombard. 
Funeral services are being held today, Oct. 23, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass of the Resurrection at Sacred Heart Church, Lombard.  Interment is at Resurrection Cemetery.        
Mr. Bowling is survived by his wife, Rosanne M.; daughters,  Jennifer L. (Javen) Humphrey and Melanie M.; siblings, Peg Grimm and Patti (Henry) Pietrazak; sister-in-law, Renee; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie; niece, Dana Ploski; brother, Ted; and brother-in-law, Chuck Grimm. 
Mr. Bowling was a member of the Carpenters Local 10 of Lombard for 37 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church.

Howard DeCamp

Howard DeCamp, 80, of Lombard, died Saturday, Oct. 12, at Arden Courts of Glen Ellyn.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, followed by a memorial service. Inurnment will be in Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, Iowa.
Mr. DeCamp is survived by his wife, Jannes; children, Jennifer (Rick Mascarella) Brown, Marcy (Douglas) Kline and Timothy (Renee) DeCamp; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert.
A graduate of Cornell College and Northern Illinois University, Mr. DeCamp was a longtime educator in Glen Ellyn School District #41. He was the recipient of three National Science Foundation grants for summer study. He taught at Hadley Junior High School, was a principal at Main Street School, and prior to retirement in 1990, principal at Churchill Elementary. He was an avid fisherman and golfer, and an extensive traveler. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army in Korea.

Birdine Gloria Falk

Birdine Gloria Falk, formerly of Lakeview, Ark., passed away Oct. 15, 2013, in Lombard, Ill., at the age of 89.
She was born May 13, 1924, in Boyd, Wis., the daughter of William and Julia Jacobson Feigenbaum. She married Eric Falk on May 25, 1946, in Berwyn, Ill., and worked as a clerk for Illinois Bell Telephone.
Birdine lived in Lakeview, Ark., since moving from Lombard, Ill., in 1982. She was a member of the Christ by the Lake Lutheran Church of Bull Shoals, Ark., Christ by the Lake Women's Group and the Lakeview Community Club. She enjoyed Wii bowling and visiting with family and friends.
Birdine is survived by her son, David (Jane) Falk of Woodstock, Ill.; daughter, Sandra Falk of Rockford, Ill.; and four grandchildren, Ryan, Erin, Eric and Disa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Susan Lisec; brother, Garland S. Feigenbaum; and two sisters, Virginia F. Krause and Lucille M. Apple.

Marvin Wilhelm Fleege

Marvin Wilhelm Fleege, 85, of Lombard, died peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 17.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Elm Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Fleege is survived by his wife, Marjorie; children, Sandra (Robert) Fanella, Andrea (Martin) Draths, Mark (Tina) Fleege and Christopher (Sarah) Fleege; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry D. and Ellen Fleege; and sister, Grace Nicklas.
Mr. Fleege was a lifelong resident of Lombard. He attended St. John’s Lutheran Grammar School and Glenbard High School in Glen Ellyn, and served as a corporal with the U.S. Army in the military police. He was a gifted athlete and lifelong sports enthusiast who enjoyed baseball, basketball, bowling, golf and pool. He was a family man who had many wonderful friends throughout his life. Everyone who knew him loved him. Those of us left behind feel blessed to have had him in our lives.

Raymond E. Nerad

Raymond E. Nerad, 90, of Lombard, formerly of Hillside, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Beacon Hill, Lombard.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 18, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Christ The King Church, Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.
Mr. Nerad is survived by his children, Roy (Cathy), Gary (Debbie) and Rita (Chuck) Welker of Villa Park; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth E.; brothers, Robert and Roger; and sister, Florence.
Mr. Nerad a was World War II Army Air Corps veteran. He had retired as a 40-year employee of Western Electric and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He had been a volunteer for the Hillside Fire Department and a past Civil Defense director. Mr. Nerad was a member of the Hillside Seniors Club. He loved to play softball and horseshoes.

Crispina C. Ortiz

Funeral services for Crispina C. Ortiz, 90, of Lombard, were held Saturday, Oct. 19, from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Ortiz was the mother of Francisco (Susan) Ortiz, Angelina (Wilfredo) Deleon, Eliseo (Evangeline) Ortiz, Cecilia (Henry) Garcia, Jovencio (Rose) Ortiz, Migdonio Jr. (Joy) Ortiz, Catalina (Roy) Regalado, and Maria Paz Ortiz; grandmother of 18; great-grandmother of seven; fond sister of Luciana; and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Migdonio Ortiz; daughter, Victoria (Crisanto) Reyes; and two brothers and five sisters.
Mrs. Ortiz was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Constance Suhajda

Funeral services for Constance Suhajda, nee Jamrisko, 81, of Lombard, were held Monday, Oct. 21, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Suhajda was the mother of Michael (Debra) Suhajda, Ronna (Ron) Spunder and Peggy (Fred) Shea; grandmother of eight; great-grandmother of 14; and cherished relative and friend to many.
