Erna Aldrich

Erna Aldrich, 94, of Villa Park, died Sunday, Sept. 29, in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Thursday Oct 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove.
Mrs. Aldrich was the mother of Joan (the late Bill) Greenfield and Julie (Steve) Cochran; grandmother of two; great-grandmother of five; and aunt to many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph B.
Mrs. Aldrich was a retired secretary for the Department of Education, Elmhurst College.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, IL 60181, would be appreciated.

Josephine G. Howard

Funeral services for Josephine G. Howard, 95, of Lombard, are being held today, Oct. 9, from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at Divine Infant Catholic Church.
Mrs. Howard is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Richard) Morton; three step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold F. Howard; and two brothers and one sister.

Michael Keigley

Michael Keigley, of Naperville, born July 10, 1958, in Oak Park, Ill., passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at his Naperville home.
Mr. Keigley was the beloved husband of Susan, nee Spolec; loving father of Kristin (fiancé Brian Hill) Keigley and Michelle Keigley; beloved son of Lydia and the late John Keigley; dear brother of Barbara (Tom) Morris; and fond uncle of six.
Mr. Keigley was a United States Marine Corps veteran.
Family and friends will gather Friday, Oct. 11, for a memorial visitation from 5 p.m. until a Celebration of Life at 8:30 p.m. at DuPage Memorial Chapel, 951 W. Washington St., West Chicago (630-293-5200).

John P. McCarthy

John P. McCarthy, 51, of Lombard, died suddenly Monday, Sept. 30, at Good Samaritan Hospital E.R.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 4, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lombard. Interment was private.
Mr. McCarthy is survived by his wife Cynthia M.; children, Zachary and Brittany of Lombard; mother, Nancy L. McCarthy; siblings, Mary McCarthy, Margaret (Michael) Walker, Liz McCarthy and James R. Jr.; 18 nieces and nephews; 11 great- nieces and great-nephews; his mother- and father-in-law, Shirley and Richard Reiners; sisters-in-law, Debbie (Dietmar) Saegebrecht, Cheryl (Brian) Johnson and Mary (John) Addante; and brother-in-law, Richard Reiners.
Mr. McCarthy resided in Lombard for 15 years. He grew up in Elmhurst and graduated from York High School in 1980. He was a machinist at Chucking Machine Products, Franklin Park for over 25 years and was an assistant scout leader for Boy Scout Troop 202. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, Nascar fan and loved cigars. He was a good and caring husband, father, son and brother.

Mary L. Salvo

Mary L. Salvo, nee LaBianco, 91, died Monday, Oct. 7, in Elmhurst.
Visitation is today, Oct. 9, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 10, at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
Mrs. Salvo was the mother of Anna Marie (Joseph) Hajek and Victor Salvo Jr. (partner John Adams); grandmother of two; great-grandmother of two; aunt of four; and great-aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Sr.; and brothers, Alphonse and John LaBianco.
Mrs. Salvo was a longtime retiree of Blistex Corp. in Oak Brook.

Darlene Patricia Schmidt

Darlene Patricia Schmidt, born June 15, 1940, in Chicago, passed away Aug. 22, 2013, in Dallas, Texas.
Mrs. Schmidt is survived by her two children, Glenn and Anita. She was a longtime resident of Lombard.
A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 215 S. Lincoln Ave., Lombard, Saturday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m.

George Ushytko

George Ushytko, 90, of Lombard, died on Saturday, Oct. 5.
Funeral services will be today, Oct. 9, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment will be private.
Mr. Ushytko is survived by his wife, Kathleen; daughters, Michelle (Steve) Gamble, Daria (William Hogan) Ushytko and Alicia Good; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Mr. Ushytko was born in Ukraine and was conscripted in the Russian Army where he became a POW in Germany. Mr. Ushytko came to the United States in 1947 and was married for 52 years. He was a resident of Lombard for 50 years and a member of Carpenter’s Union #181. Mr. Ushytko was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Chicago.
