Dominick P. Coco

Funeral services for Dominick P. Coco were held Wednesday, Sept. 4, from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mr. Coco was the father of Karen Coco-Damiano and Gail (Peter) Gennuso; grandfather of three; great-grandfather of one; brother of Sarah Palmisano; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sidonia “Donnie.”
Mr. Coco was a proud World War II veteran, who served as a member of the United States Coast Guard in the South Pacific aboard USS LST 786; and member of Teamsters Local 710.

Mary Lou Cunningham

Mary Lou Cunningham, nee Meredith, of Lombard, died on July 27 in Austin, Texas.
Mary is survived by her husband, Robert; daughters, Ann Skowronek and Lori Cunningham; sons, Todd and Doug Cunningham; five grandchildren; her brothers, Keith and Don Meredith; her sister, Jeanne Faverty; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mary was born in Mt. Carmel, Ill., and lived most of her life in Lombard. For many years she was vice president of Administration at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital and Clinics. Mary loved travel, gardening and collecting antiques. She and her husband lovingly restored their home on North Charlotte, which was built by Henry and Minnie Klusmeyer in 1898. After many years of restoration and research, Mary was able to get the house listed with the Lombard Historical Society.
Mary was diagnosed with ALS in 2012. She bravely fought the disease until her death. All who knew her will miss her. Burial will be private. Donations to the ALS Society would be appreciated.

Beverly June Petersen

Beverly June Petersen, nee Meeusen, 87, of Lombard, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 30, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St. Lombard. Interment was private.
Mrs. Petersen is survived by her children, David (Donna), Dennis (Darlene) and Lynda Lou (Don) Kepka; stepchildren, Chrissie and William “Beez”; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Laurie Murphy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Florence Meeusen; husbands, Richard V. Urlaub and William L. Petersen; brothers, David and Walter “Bud”; and sister, Margie.

Thomas J. Rausch

Thomas J. Rausch, 85, of Geneva, formerly of Wheaton and Villa Park, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, in Geneva.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 9, at Grace Lutheran Church in Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mr. Rausch was the husband of Helvie; father of Tom (Debbie), Jeff (Terry) and Steve (Jim Deveney); grandfather of six; great-grandfather of four; brother of Alyce (the late Garth) Lambert; and uncle to many.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Grace Lutheran Church, Princeton and St. Charles Road, Villa Park, IL 60181, would be appreciated.

Darren S. Schumacher

Darren S. Schumacher, 37, of Wheaton, died a sudden, accidental death on Thursday, Aug. 29.
A Celebration of Life Service was held on Saturday, Sept. 7, at First United Methodist Church in Lombard,
Mr. Schumacher is survived by his parents, George C. and Terry Anne; brother, David E. (Megan E.) of Villa Park; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was the nephew of Wesley John Schumacher, Robert Gilchrist, and Paul and Mary Holliday.
Mr. Schumacher was born at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, and attended Arbor View Elementary School in Glen Ellyn. He loved playing baseball and basketball and was a good bowler. He attended Glenbard South High School, where he graduated in 1994.  He then went to NIU in DeKalb for two years where he struggled with severe OCD. He was hired at D.N.O.A., now Dearborn National in Downers Grove, where he worked for 11 years as a data entry specialist. 
Mr. Schumacher was a Chicago fan for the Blackhawks, Bulls, Bears and White Sox.  He loved his two cats Toesie and Princess. Recently, he began playing softball with friends from Muldoons in Wheaton in the Carol Stream Park District League. He enjoyed family reunions, seeing family members and their children. He liked to watch movies and listen to alternative music.
