Kathryn Cain

Kathryn Dorothy Sutherland “Dorothy Brown, Cain,” 79, of Lombard, died Sunday, Sept. 8, at Oak Trace in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held at Calvary Episcopal Church in Lombard on Friday, Sept.13, followed by a brief service at the cemetery.
Mrs. Cain is survived by her children, Cynthia (Tom) Cuppernell, Kathy Sue Porter, Nanci (Cyd) O'Sullivan and George (Sandy) Alan Brown; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Muriel Sutherland; and one brother and one sister.
Mrs. Cain was born in Boston, Mass., and was a resident of Lombard for over 20 years and a resident of Downers Grove for over 20 years. She graduated from Simmons College in Boston with a degree in business and worked as an administrative assistant in various capacities in the law and educational fields. She was also was very active with the Cavalry Church newsletter for a number of years.

Mary Kay Dahm

Funeral services for Mary Kay Dahm, nee McGrath, 97, of Villa Park, were held Friday, Sept. 13, at St. Alexander Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Mt. Emblem Cemetery.
Mrs. Dahm was the mother of Robert (Sharon), Margaret (Jimmie) LoCicero and Kenneth (Betty) Dahm; grandmother of two; sister of Jim (Betty) McGrath; and aunt to many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold M.; and brothers, Jack (Barbara) and Charles (Catherine) McGrath.

David I. Dunwoody

David I. Dunwoody, 72, of Lombard, died Monday, Sept. 9, in Lombard surrounded by his family.
A memorial gathering and service were held Saturday, Sept.14, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Burial of cremains was held Monday, Sept. 16, at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace.
Mr. Dunwoody is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary Sue, whom he married July 22, 1978; children, David M. (Wini) Dunwoody, Kurt Dunwoody, David (Micki) Wanto and Tricia (Dennis) Donovan; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon L. Wanto; sister, Joslyn Wending; brother, Karl Dunwoody; and parents, William and Frances Dunwoody.
Mr. Dunwoody was a resident of Lombard since 1973. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served from 1961-63 as a Private First Class Marksman and transport. He served for 12 years as a Lombard firefighter and paramedic  and was the fourth full-time hired non-volunteer for Lombard, serving from 1973-85. 
He was a fixer of many things and was an avid golfer. He was the owner of Woody’s Decorating and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Phyllis Latona

Funeral services for Phyllis Latona nee DiPasquale, 97, were held Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Oakbrook Terrace. Entombment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Latona was the mother of Connie (the late Dave) Bulger, Eleanor (the late John) Putnam and Anna Maria (the late Jim) Vargo; grandmother of 15; great-grandmother of 30; and great- great-grandmother of 1. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph.

Dr. Otto Montfort

Dr. Otto W. Montfort, M.D., 88, of Lombard, formerly of Naperville, died Monday, Sept. 9, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 13, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Glen Ellyn.
Dr. Montfort is survived by his wife, Hildegard; nee Marsollek; children, Ludwig O., Helmut (Joy) and Gabriela Montfort-Walls of Lombard; five grandchildren; brother, Herman (Carolyne); and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
Dr. Montfort lived in Lombard for the past two years and had previously lived in Naperville for three years and Chicago since 1953. He grew up in Mexico and went to medical school in the United States. He was a surgeon and practiced at U.S. Steel and at Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park.  He was a member of the German club.

Irwin Skrysak

Funeral services for Irwin Skrysak, age 90, of Lombard, were held Monday, Aug. 26, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard.
Mr. Skrysak was the husband of Theresa; father of Marilyn McPeters, Michael (Phyllis) Skrysak, Patricia (Mark) Streder, JoAnn (Mark) Kunze and Nancy (Michael) Podrasky; grandfather of 12; great-grandfather of six; and was the uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
