Amy Alexander

A memorial gathering for Amy Alexander, nee Drovesky, 47, of Lombard, was held Friday, Sept. 20, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard. Interment was at St. Casimir Cemetery.
Mrs. Alexander was the mother of Sophia Alexander; sister of Jeff Drovesky; stepdaughter of Stephen Van Earwage; former wife of Stephan Alexander; and niece, cousin and sister-in-law of many. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth “Betty.”

Margo Beth Horan

Margo Beth Horan, 68, of Gales Ferry, Conn., formerly of Lombard, Ill., passed peacefully on Aug 30, 2013, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London, Conn.
Born March 28, 1945, in Elmhurst, Ill., she is predeceased by her parents, Norman B. and Dorothy M. Allen; and her late husband, William E. Horan of Lombard, Ill.
She is survived by her two daughters, Megan (Christopher) Acor of Gales Ferry, Conn., and Erin (Aaron) Blevins of Gales Ferry, Conn.; granddaughter, Caitlin (Acor); grandsons Noah (Acor) and Aidan (Acor); and sister, Sandra (Richard) Ballinger.
Memorial services and burial were held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Ill., Sept. 9.

Edith Mills

Funeral services for Edith Mills, nee Schmidt, 88, a longtime resident of Villa Park, are being held today, Sept. 25, at St. Alexander Catholic Church in Villa Park.
Mrs. Mills was the wife of William J. Mills; mother of Jeffrey L. (Janice), Russ (Cindy) and Kathy Mills; grandmother of four; great-grandmother of one; sister of Marie Schmidt, Thelma Wagner, Charles Schmidt, Jean Fredericks and Thomas Schmidt; and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Lawrence Schmidt and Ann O’Brochta.

Michael V. Vallario

Michael V. Vallario, 75, of Lombard, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, at RML Specialty Hospital, Hinsdale.
A memorial service was held at Crosswinds Church, Plainfield.
Mr. Vallario is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Melissa) Vallario of Lombard; one granddaughter; dearest friend, Rosita Jarquin of Joliet; sister, Jean M. Nargi-Whyers; and seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Joseph Bartelli; parents, Anthony and Letizia; siblings, Nicholas J. and Josephine Belcher; and nephew, Albert Nargi.
Mr. Vallario was a resident of Lombard for 18 years. He grew up in Chicago and was a graduate of Austin High School in Chicago. Mr. Vallario had retired as a printer from the Chicago Tribune. He was a member of Christ the King Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Edward Vega

Edward Vega, 82, died Wednesday, Sept. 18.
Funeral services were held Tuesday Sept. 24, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave, Villa Park. Interment was at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, Northlake.
Mr. Vega was the husband of Alexandria for 58 years; father of Edward Vega Jr, Stephen Vega, Anthony Vega and Michael J. Vega; grandfather of eight; great-grandfather of 12; and brother of Ramon (Carmen) Vega, Sarah Vega, Lydia (Jessie) De La Santos, Evelyn Riojas, Paul Riojas, Danny (Linda) Riojas and Tom Riojas. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Vega, John Vega, Mike (late Sophie) Vega and Charlie Riojas.
Mr. Vega was a Korean War U.S. Army army veteran and 46-year resident of Villa Park.
