Ronald Paul Bermea

Ronald Paul Bermea, of Villa Park, died Saturday, Aug. 23, in Chicago.
Visitation is today, Aug. 27, and Thursday Aug. 28, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, and where a service will be held on Friday Aug. 29. Interment is at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery, Oakbrook Terrace.
Mr. Bermea was the son of Mark D. Bermea and Terri F. Bermea; brother of Daniel Bermea; and grandson of Barbara and the late Roland Bermea, and Wendy and the late Ronald Polkow.
Mr. Bermea had a passion for hunting, hiking, camping, modeling, his gun collection and his motorcycle, and many other hobbies and interests. He was a well-known face and personality within the Chicago nightlife industry for his unique humor, heart and loyalty. He will be loved and sadly missed by so many but never forgotten.

Judith A. Bultema

Judith A. Bultema, 72, of Lombard, died Saturday, Aug. 23, at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, Aug. 26, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Mrs. Bultema is survived by her husband, Clarence Jr.; and her son, Jeff of Lombard. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Ford.
Mrs. Bultema had lived in Lombard for 31 years. She graduated from Evergreen High School. Mrs. Bultema formerly worked for Commonwealth Edison.

Sara M. George

Sara M. George, nee Schuning, 54, of Lombard, died Monday, Aug. 18, at Loyola Hospital.
Funeral services will be held today, Aug. 27, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Church.
Mrs. George is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Marco) Sanchez of Lombard, Charles Steegmuller of Lombard and Ramona George; three grandchildren; brothers, Eugene (Kathy) Schuning, Timothy Schuning of Lombard and Mark (Becky) Schuning of Lombard; and her mother, Ramona Schuning of Lombard. She was preceded in death by her father, Dan Schuning.
Mrs. George grew up in Plano and Lisle, attending Plano Elementary School and Lisle Junior High. She graduated from Benet High School and attended Illinois Benedictine College, the University of Iowa and received her R.N. degree at Kishwaukee School of Nursing. She had formerly worked at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.

Richard Hintz

Funeral services for Richard Hintz, 45, of Lombard, were held Sunday, Aug. 24, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard. Interment was Monday, Aug. 25, at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mr. Hintz was the father of Richie and Casey Hintz; son of Edward Hintz and the late Rosalie Hintz; brother of Corey Hintz and Nancy (John) Mellenthin; uncle of two and many other nieces and nephews.
He was an avid fisherman, baseball player, and Chicago sports fan, especially his beloved Cubs.

John Kuta

John Kuta, 88, of Lombard, died Saturday, Aug. 16, in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 20, with prayers from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, to Mass at St. Pius X Church, Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mr. Kuta was the husband of Mary; father of George (Cindy) Kuta, Jadz (Pat) Pate and Chris (Tim) Zilinsky; grandfather of four; great-grandfather of two; brother of Joseph (Sophie) Kuta, Eugene (Mary) Kuta, Emilia (Marian) Lis and Kristyna (Walter) Kowal; and uncle and godfather of many.

John P. Olson

John P. Olson, 51, of Lombard, died suddenly Saturday, Aug. 23, in Lombard.
Visitation will be today, Aug. 27, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 28, with prayers from the funeral home to Mass at St. Pius X Church, Lombard. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mr. Olson is survived by his wife, Caryn M.; children, Celina Bright of Lombard and Kyle Olson of Lombard; in-laws, Charles and Mary Lou Bright; siblings, Bernie (Stephanie), Nancy (Vic) Kruppenbacher and Eric; and three nephews.
Mr. Olson grew up in Brookfield and graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1981. He had lived in Lombard since 1990. Mr. Olson was a member of the Laborer’s Union #25 in Westchester. He was a Civil War reenactor for Stanford’s Battery in Lombard. Mr. Olson was an announcer for Falcon Football.

Ronald A. VanEwyk, 60, of Villa Park, died Thursday, Aug. 21, in Villa Park.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 26, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was private.
Mr. VanEwyk was the husband of Robin; father of Steven and Jennifer “Jen” VanEwyk; brother of Dennis (Susan) VanEwyk; uncle of three; son of the late Gordon and Esther VanEwyk; and cousin of many.

Helen V. Welacha

Visitation for Helen V. Welacha, 94, of Lombard. will be held Thursday, Aug. 28, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 29, at Parkview Community Church in Glen Ellyn. Interment is private.
Mrs. Welacha was the wife of the late John Welacha; mother of Marilyn (John) Mooney, Alice (Tom) Lewaniak and John A. (Maria) Welacha; grandmother of eight and preceded in death by John Mooney; step-grandmother of one; great-grandmother of six; aunt of many nieces and nephews; and preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
