Donald Francis Fournier

Donald “Don” Francis Fournier, age 85, of Sevierville, passed away Dec. 16, 2014, with his wife and daughter by his side. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and spent most of his working years as a metal engraver and artist. He was a talented artist whose work was reflected in all aspects of his life. Don loved working in his yard, building decks, terraces and flower beds. He loved hunting and fishing and appreciated sitting outside with his good buddy, Vance. Don will be missed greatly by all who know him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Harriet Fournier; sister, Joyce Peabody; son, David Fournier; grandson, Cody Bonfield; former wife and mother of his children, Annette Fournier; and his daughter's longtime companion, Frank Visk.
Those remaining to mourn his passing are his wife, Shirley Fournier; his children, Denise Chorney and husband, Michael, Suzanne Van Huis and husband, John, Michele Fournier, Daniel Fournier and wife, Darlene, Nicole Lindquist and husband, Jeffrey, and Cynthia Woods and husband, Thomas; grandchildren, David Chorney and wife, Melissa, Heather Chorney, Daniel Chorney, Alexander Van Huis, Adam Van Huis, Jessica Bonfield, Joseph Bonfield, Jeffrey Lindquist, Stephanie Woods, Bryan Woods, and Rebecca Woods; and his loving friends and neighbors, Vance and Elsia Hartley.

Heidi Grant, nee Steidl, 77, longtime resident of Lombard; beloved wife of Bob; loving mother of Heidi March, Joan Renfrow, Rob (Lisa) Grant; devoted grandmother of Meaghan, Shannon and Lindsey March, Matthew and Sarah Renfrow, Kelsey, Kaylee, Kevin and Kimber Grant; active volunteer at St Pius X Catholic Church.

Kenneth G. Handy

A memorial visitation for Kenneth G. Handy of Glendale Heights, formerly of Villa Park, will be held Sunday, Jan. 18, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, from 1-3 p.m. with a service at 3 p.m. 630-832-4161.

Mary Antonette Isaia

Funeral services for Mary Antonette Isaia, age 92, of Elmhurst, will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 2, at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.

Zelma Johnson

Zelma Pearl (Sue) Pfeifer Johnson 7/20/13-12/24/14. Sue was an 84-year resident of Lombard who moved here in 1929 from Elida, Ohio, when her family lost their farm during the Depression. She married Luther Johnson in 1930 and they were married for 46 years until his death. They had four children: Mary Lou Rada (Bob-deceased), Donald (deceased), William (Margaret) and Thomas (Priscilla). She had 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Sue attended the Lombard Bible Church for 69 years and took care of their children's nursery for over 30 years. She was known as the Edson Avenue “Flower Lady” for her wonderful gardens. She baked cookies and pies for the neighborhood children and her neighbors continued to visit until she left her home in 2013.
She was one of the founding members of the Volley Mollies, a women’s volleyball group formed in 1950. Even after her 100th birthday, she loved to sit in her front yard and visit with neighbors. She worked at the Village Book Store in downtown Lombard for 18 years, was an Election Judge, sold season swimming passes for the pool, and worked in the Lilacia Park ticket booth until she was in her 80s.
Her caregivers, Tammy and Christine McParland, helped her greatly during her last 6 years. The staff and volunteers with Burgess Square Health Care and St. Thomas Hospice were excellent.

Visitation will be at Lombard Bible Church on Thursday, Jan 8, from 9-11 a.m. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m.

Dr. Edwin F. Morello

Dr. Edwin F. Morello, of Naperville, 86, passed Dec. 15, 2014. Loving brother of Raymond (Dorothy), of Lombard, and the late Lt. John Morello Jr.; cherished uncle to Laura Morello, of Lombard, Mary Sue (Harold) Stetson, of Naperville; dear great-uncle to Scott (Kari) Stetson, Jim Stetson and Bill Stetson; adored great-great uncle to Thora Stetson.
Ed received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, in Organic Chemistry and Philosophy. He worked and retired from BP Amoco Chemical Corporation in Naperville, Ill. He received a certificate of appreciation for the scientific and technical growth of Amoco Chemicals Corporation on the occasion of the granting of his 25th U.S. Patent.
Ed enjoyed golfing, hiking, snow skiing, bowling and fishing. He looked forward to attending all his great-nephews’ sporting events, and never missed a game.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rockdale. Interment was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Joliet, Ill.

Joy Westerholm

Joy S. Westerholm, age 86, of Lombard, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 28, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
